The Old Stable

We had a very comfortable stay in the old stables.

The property was clean well equipped and more spacious than it appeared on line.Although tucked away in a quiet location it is idea as a base for touring Pembrokeshire. I wouldn't hesitate to recomend the cottage the layout was ideal for my partner who has mobility issues another plus

We stayed at The Old Stable in Wolfscastle near Haverfordwest for five nights and had a wonderful experience.

The cottage was spotless, cosy, and very comfortable — an ideal base for exploring Pembrokeshire. Cheryl was a warm and welcoming host, and everything was prepared perfectly for our arrival. During our stay we visited Picton Castle, Tenby, Fishguard, St Davids, and several farmers’ markets. Every drive was memorable, with stunning views, rolling countryside, and those classic narrow Welsh lanes that make the journey part of the charm. All the inns we stopped at were dog‑friendly, and the food everywhere was hearty and satisfying. A peaceful location, excellent host, and a lovely cottage. I’d happily return and definitely recommend The Old Stable.

Clean , comfortable cottage located in peaceful setting yet convenient for visiting north and south Pembrokeshire coasts.

Lovely property in the countryside but about half an hour from the tourist spots.

Well equipped, comfy and cosy for two and a dog. Nice small outside space with BBQ in a quiet and secluded spot also with a shared grassed paddock area. Owners were great and very hospitable. Half an hour's walk to the nearest pub where we had Sunday lunch which we can well recommend called Pump on the Green. Overall we can highly recommend the cottage if you want somewhere quiet and comfortable but within easy reach of all Pembrokeshire

Which was joyously easy to relax in and we enjoyed our mini break in, immensely. Excellent facilities, which would make a longer stay inviting, too. Our dogs were advocated and I would recommend the "Old Stable' highly.

Everything about the accommodation is meticulously clean and well presented, and the building itself is a gorgeous conversion, very warm, comfortable and welcoming, having all the facilities we could need. Cheryl is the perfect host, being available and helpful if you need anything, while leaving you all the space you could want. The property is set in beautiful peaceful countryside, with every comfort. I wouldn’t change a thing. If you like watching birds you wont be disappointed.

Had a great week at the old stable despite the weather letting us down a bit, lovely friendly owners who go out off there way to help.

The Old Stable is tucked away in the midst of the countryside and is very peaceful.

Lots of lovely character, warm and welcoming. We used as a base for walking the Pembrokeshire coastal path. We found the bed nice and comfortable and had plenty of room for all our things. A great stay.

This is a lovely cosy cottage, yet has all the luxury you need.

The facilities were of very high standard and spotless. The bed was super comfy as were the armchairs. Everything we needed in the kitchen was there, right down to treats for the dogs. There is a log burner - not that we needed it as the cottage was warm. The thick stone walls were amazing, and we loved the ancient slit window in the bedroom area! Having the outside space for the dogs was very useful so we could have the door open. Accommodating 3 dogs is unusual and we were very appreciative to have that. The hosts were completely unobtrusive but available if we needed them. The road to the property was ' interesting' certainly out in the sticks but with easy 30mins access to the tourist hot spots. Lots of fab beaches and coast walks to take the dogs. Very very relaxing!

Could not fault this little place.

It was very comfortable and had everything we needed. The little fenced in area in front of the cottage made managing the dog easy. Great location. It was quiet and felt remote but actually really close to Haverfordwest. Easy reach to Pembroke,Tenby, St David's and Fishguard. Owners were welcoming and friendly. Bed was comfortable. Shower room was a good size with big cubicle .

Second stay here Lovely accommodation

This is an superb well equipped cottage for a break of peace and quiet.

A lovely cottage suitable for a couple who just want to get away from it all, no noisy distractions, lot's of lovely countryside walks, and plenty of lovely Welsh towns to visit, obviously you'll need transport. This was our second visit with our dog, it's an absolute gem away from the urban rat race.Many thanks to Cheryl for having us and we'll be back next year.

This is the second visit and we were not disappointed.

The welcome gift was really appreciated. Teddy and Ava loved their treats too. A well equipped cottage comfy bed and loved the wood burner. Enjoyed lots of walks, peace, wildlife and the Welsh weather. Particularly liked the drinking water.

Beautiful little cottage a hidden gem.

The owners were friendly and helpful. Only one criticism it would be nice if there was a broom available in the cottage so we could have cleared up the dog hair and leaves that were inevitably brought in. We had a dustpan and brush but a broom would have made it easier.

The location is a perfect base to visit an array of different places in Pembrokeshire. The cottage had everything we needed and more. It is a lovely place. I would absolutely recommend to anyone.

We are an older couple who wanted a peaceful break, this was perfect.

As much quiet as you could ask for. The cottage was spotless, well equipped, and comfortable. Good facilities, washing drying etc, no rowdy parties or teenagers, no falling down drunks, (apart from me of course) a lovely relaxing break. We will very likely book again next year. Absolutely loved staying at The Old Stable , very clean and homely , perfectly equipped for two people .

The furnishings were of very high standard , the bed was so comfortable, every detail had been thought of . So peaceful, all you can hear are the birds on the feeders ( so many different birds ) and the cows across the way but the farm is situated so centrally that you could be back in town in about ten minutes if you wished or any direction to the coast for the day . We would highly recommend. Thank you for a wonderful holiday .

We had a lovely 5 nights in this cosy, comfortable and well equipped stable property.

Enhanced by really good weather, we were able to sit outside in the evenings enjoying the peace and quiet of the countryside. The lovely welcome pack and the vase of roses were most appreciated.This property (along with 2 others ) makes a perfect base to explore the whole of Pembrokeshire. It is well worth a visit. A really nice property for 2 people, and all on one level, which was ideal for us as older visitors.

The cottage was comfortable and warm.

Heating available all day, woodburner lovely. Good to see birds at feeders. Parking adequate. Certain issues at the cottage brought to the attention of the owners, and resolved. A direction sign at the turn off to the cottage would have been useful.

Unfortunately the stay was cut short because my dog was taken ill and ihad to had to take her to my vet soon became well pretty soon. Apart from her illness and the weather it would have been just what i wanted

On the whole, we enjoyed our stay in The Old Stable.

The accommodation was well thought through and the host very welcoming. The accommodation was clean and well-equipped, and we also loved being situated in the middle of Pembrokeshire. However, we did unfortunately struggle to sleep well during our stay due to the lack of blinds on the skylights in the building. There was no way of blocking the light from these, nor from the internet modem lit up directly above the bed, and so this woke us up early every morning. We also struggled with the duvet as it was extremely warm- great for winter holidays, but not so great for the summer! For this reason we have given it a lower rating than we otherwise would have given.

The cottage was very very clean and comfortable.

Very well equipped. We met the owner who was very helpful. The cottages is in a nice quiet location. The nearest big town Haverfordwest has all the shops and supermarkets if you need them. The location is ideal for access within reasonable distance to Tenby and Saundersfoot and also to St David's. The beaches at Little Haven, Broadhaven and Newgale are fantastic and dog friendly. These three beaches are a short drive away. All in all a lovely holiday at the Old Stable.

Brilliant place to stay.

Very homely and well wet out room. Owners are lovely and I felt that coronvirus measures were taken very seriously. Enjoyed the log burner and decent shower. Fantastic location as it is only a short drive to anywhere in pembrokeshire. Very quiet location, lovely to wake up to cows every morning. Also nice to hear the rain on the skylight on one of the nights.

My boyfriend and I stayed 6 nights at the old stable cottage.

The cottage was beautiful and so cosy! We arrived and were welcomed by Cheryl who was so friendly and helpful throughout. The cottage was immaculately clean and well equipped for our stay. Special touch of leaving Welshcakes, tea/coffee/ hot chocolate, fresh milk and even treats for our two dogs who thoroughly enjoyed their stay as much as we did! We did not have to bring towels as they were provided and in the bathroom we were provided with little shampoo, conditioner, shower gel etc. We made use of the laundry room and loved the supply of games and dvds available to use in our cottage. The location of the cottage was perfect for visiting Tenby, St David’s and taking our dogs for coastal walks. The log burner was perfect in the evening after a long day walking in the cold weather. We were close to a few lovely pubs- I’d recommend ‘pub on the green’ its a 5 minute drive from the cottage. Delicious food and they do a steak Friday for such a good price. Thank you for a relaxing holiday! We hope to book again soon!

We loved staying at The Old Stable, it was a perfect place to stay and the hosts were lovely and nothing was too much trouble for them.

We had everything we needed in the holiday home. It was such a warm and cosy place to stay and the bed was so comfortable.. Although we had to curtail our holiday, we were very pleased with the welcome and hospitality extended by the owners.

This included buying a fence to ensure our dogs did not ‘escape’!!

What can we say this was an amazing place to stay .We used this as a base whilst looking for properties to buy. Cheryl and her family are the extremely good hosts. if you need anything just ask ..very very clean and spotless ….I would recommend this to anyone looking for a relaxing break .Cheryl even supplied enough clean towels for large family and washing powder fot the laundry room

We had a lovely time at The Old Stable.

It is in a very rural setting and peaceful except for mooing at milking time, easily tolerated. Ideal for two people and a dog and within thirty minutes travelling distance of many nice places to visit. We would happily return.

The only thing we found was the distance to the nearest village it's a lot further than we were informed it was.

The cottage was lovely and the owners friendly and helpful. It was an excellent base to explore the gorgeous Pembrokeshire coastline. We will definitely go back to continue exploring!

Our stay at The Old Stable @ New House Farm Cottages was amazing Cheryl and her family were absolutely brilliant.

We stayed for Christmas 23rd to 27th Dec 2018. We chose this cottage for the lovely countryside location and proximity to Haverfordwest where we have friends and family. The location is also brilliant for trips to some of the amazing beaches and of course City of St David. Cheryl contacted us prior to our arrival welcoming us to the forthcoming stay. She advised about arrival times and was so kind to offer to decorate the cottage for Christmas (which we thought was a lovely kind gesture) which was tastefully decorated and made our Christmas that but more special. She offered to help us with anything prior to our arrival and answered a few queries we had about towels and bedding and HDMI connections so that we could bring our NOW TV :-) On arrival we found a selection of gifts for us (including Christmas crackers which we had forgot to bring!!!) and some fresh milk in the fridge which made settling in with so much easier. We were able to bring our dogs which was a HUGE bonus for us. The farm had plenty of space for small walks so that dogs can relieve themselves (whilst kept on a lead at all times as there were other pets around and the proximity to a working farm which is well justified) and the location of the cottage is relation to some great country and coastal walks is amazing. Which of course is why we were here with our dogs to enjoy the walking. The cottage was spotlessly clean and well stocked with everything you needed including little touches like a touch for walking the dogs in the dark! There was a lovely log burning fire with a generous supply of woods and scented kindling. Additionally wood was available for a small charge. The cottage has free view with plenty of channels, but as it was Christmas we wanted to bring our NOW TV and were able to hook up to the Wifi to stream this. The facilities include a laundry which we made use of saving on washing cloths when we got home, again another great benefit was we could hit the ground running on our return. There was also a hose so that we could wash down the dogs after walks. This was an amazing place for us to stay and we look forward to booking this cottage again in 2019.

Lovely open converted stable and exactly as it looks on the pictures.

Lovely hosts and great base for moving around & exploring the Pembrokeshire region. Loved it and so did our Pugs.

The cottage looked bright and cheerful in the listing but in fact was dark and dismal.

Equipment was just adequate and there was nowhere to store food. Extra logs for the fire cost £5 for a basket of about 8 logs which lasted 4 hours.

Accomodation was realy well appointed.

Bijou you might say, but very cosy and had everything we needed for our weeks stay. We would definitely go again when we visit Pembrokeshire.

Had a lovely few days there very comfortable we would definitely consider going back there .

This is one of the best holiday cottages we have ever been to top quality of everything and the dogs loved it we never went out much because of the rain but when we did we loved walking the Ianes and paddock and the fields we great to play foot ball with my dogs if any one wants a nice relaxing time this is the place to go the owners could not do enough for us thank you for a lovely experience .

We wanted somewhere quiet and comfortable.

This place was perfect. The owners were very welcoming and although we already knew the area we found this location was perfect for visiting the places we had been to in the past. Nowhere was too far away.

Cheryl is helpful and left flowers, dog treats and milk in the cottage- a lovely surprise.

A lovely Cottage in a brilliant location, it was clean and well maintained, the host's were friendly and welcoming we really had a nice stay.

Lovely cottage, warm and cosy, perfect for a week of relaxing.

Location great as it is so rural therefore quiet yet towns were an easy drive away. Well equipped kitchen and nice touches which included logs for the burner, games, puzzles and DVDs to aid our get-away-from-it-all-week. Not to mention the tasty Welsh cakes to accompany our tea on arrival

Located off the beaten track, just what we wanted, peace and quiet.

Wolfscastlepottery was excellent, lovely town of goodwick near Fishguard had good time dolphin spotting with cliff at the ocean lab in goodwick!

We enjoyed our holiday and the owners were very friendly and helpful, our only criticism is the lack of wi-fi on the site so unable to download the daily newspapers.

Great place to stay if you don't mind travelling around, well it is Wales!

No problems finding the place even though it is very secluded. Would recommend to anyone and hopefully will go back in the future.
