Pentre Court Cottage

Unfortunately, there was a leak in one of the shower rooms, so for the majority of the holiday we only had one bathroom to share among the 5 adults.

No talk of compensation which I think would be justified. Some of the areas were a bit grubby especially the toilets and bathroom.

A very spacious property.

Lovely bright modern kitchen, comfortable bedrooms and clean, modern bathrooms. The outdoor area is safe for dogs and we enjoyed two family BBQs, making the most of the hot weather. Only downside is that the lounge is rather dark (although we were out most of the time so it wasn't an issue for us) and the first flight of stairs are quite steep and narrow (again not an issue for us as we are all quite mobile).

Spacious and very well equipped. Perfect for our family group in the area for walking- we walked to the top of the Sugar Loaf from the cottage. Friendly owner and much appreciated welcome basket. A great stay.

We had two nights at Pentre Court cottage with three other couples.

The cottage met our needs perfectly and the area is fantastic for walking, pubs, restaurants and generally enjoying the outdoors. Manon was a lovely host and we would definitely visit again.

We all, three generations, enjoyed our New Year break at Pentre Court Cottage.

The owner, Manon, was very helpful before & during our stay. The accommodation was very well laid out for our needs, was spacious and had everything we needed & more. The cottage is full of character and charm and felt warm and welcoming. The Christmas decorations added to the ambience. There were a few niggles but overall it was everything we were looking for. And the view from the bedrooms is amazing! We made some wonderful memories. Thank you Manon.

The beds were very comfortable, as were the sofas in the living room.

Nice to have an upright chair in each room, and space for 8 people to sit together in the living room. Very well equipped kitchen, great for self catering, though it took us a few minutes to find the cutlery drawers! The house was a bit warm for us, so we turned the thermostat down, and all the radiators down as well. The only issue with the kitchen being so well equipped was there was not much space to put our food. The welcome basket was generous. The showers were quite powerful, to the extent that the one on the top floor would end up getting a lot of the floor wet, as spray bounced past the screen. the low ceilings and beams, deep windowsills and uneven walls give the cottage a cosy feel. The wifi worked through the whole cottage, with well placed boosters. A recycling bin in the kitchen would be helpful.

Pentre Court is a lovely, characterful, comfortable and extremely well equipped cottage where you receive a welcome basket of local delicacies (and a personal hello from Manon, the owner).

There are fluffy towels, crisp sheets, and a great secure garden for your four legged friends. Its location makes it an excellent base for walking and visiting the numerous attractions of the area. There is a friendly pub literally over the road and there are plenty of good places to eat for all budgets just a short drive or 20 minutes walk away.

We absolutely loved this weekend staycation.

It was spotless, quirky, had a rural feel to it. We had a field to ourself we had bbqs, music, fire pit. We put up decorations for our friend’s 40th birthday. The owners were super down to earth , friendly and generally cool people .

Lovely cottage from 17th century but with all modern conveniences.

If you like radio take your own. The garden is ample for children and pets. Lots to do locally for children and adults. Very friendly hosts.

The property is very well located for walks in the surrounding area.

Abergavenny also has a good range of shops and restaurants and is easily accessible by train. Despite the cold weather we were very cosy and made to feel very welcome. The kitchen has everything you need and the interiors nicely furnished. The dining table is narrow and has benches rather than chairs so less comfortable for lingering over dinner.

Pentre provided the perfect place to spend the week away with our group of friends to celebrate my Birthday.

Cottage was clean, well equipped, warm and comfortable. Lovely views of the surrounding mountains from all bedroom windows. Enjoyed walking up Skirrid and Blorenge with the added bonus of doing Sugar Loaf from our doorstep. Thank you again for a memorable week.

We spent the first week of December in this fabulous cottage.

The house was lovely and warm when we arrived and we immediately felt at home. The cottage is exceptionally clean and well equipped. The kitchen deserves a separate mention as it had everything we needed to cater for a party of 7 for the week and even the dogs had their own bowls! The welcome basket was packed to the brim with quality products many of them local to the area. The milk and butter we found in the fridge when we arrived was much appreciated. The cottage is in a great location with lovely walks from the door and Abergavenny is easily accessible by foot, bus or car. There is comprehensive information about tourist attractions near to the cottage and further afield. A very big thank you to Manon for her warm welcome and attention to detail. We thoroughly enjoyed our stay and would happily return to your lovely house.

We were greeted warmly and the welcome pack was appreciated. The property was superb and you wanted for nothing in facilities and equipment. The property was clean and inviting. We had a great time with the local pub just across the road. Abergavenny only a 5 min drive away. Would definitely go back to Pentre Court again.

It has everything you need for a break with a group of family or friends and is in a great position. I will really miss the stunning views from our top floor bedroom!

We spend a wonderful week in Pentre Court using it as base to explore the area including going to the annual Abergavenny Food Festival.

Great location only a 15/20 minute walk into town with a pub opposite that has fast electric car charging which was very handy. The cottage was enchanting with every facility you could want with loads of character, plenty of parking and very good WiFi. We would definitely use it again and highly recommend it.

We had a thoroughly enjoyable stay at Pentre Court cottage: a building with lots of history, but very modern in the way it has been restored and up-dated.

The owners were very helpful and friendly, leaving a very welcome goody basket for our arrival. The location was convenient for the towns of Abergavenney and Crickhowell, and there was a pub literally across the road. A good sized garden was available for guests when the sun shines!

Pentre Court Cottage really is a lovely place - spacious and light, comfortable and characterful, spotlessly clean, with all the facilities and amenities we could hope for including a pleasant little courtyard, ample parking and a friendly pub opposite.

It's a level stroll into the centre of Abergavenny, and there are splendid walks right from the doorstep. The owner is thoughtful and responsive, too. We hugely enjoyed our stay - highly recommended.

Our short stay was all I expected and more the location is super for access to Abergavenny for supplies the pub across the road and `The Sugar Loaf mountain we climbed.

The house was well equipped with everything we needed, and had a few games puzzles for our children's entertainment I would recommend a stay here and intend to return.

Pentre Court is an absolute gem of a holiday cottage.

The owner (Manon), who lives next door, has tried to think of everything guests could need. The cottage is approximately half a mile out of Abergavenny (we walked it but my elderly parents found the very narrow and badly maintained pavement a bit unnerving); it’s on a bit of a bad bend, directly opposite a pub, so it’s easy to find providing you go slowly (it’s a 60mph road). It’s well appointed with nice fixtures and fittings and is very spacious. Lovely big kitchen with every utensil you could need. There’s a secure garden for dogs. On arrival we found a nice welcome hamper, but what made it special was that a Happy Birthday balloon had been included - so often it’s the little things that mean the most. Lovely touch!! Comfy beds, comfy sofas, decent quality walk-in showers (there’s no baths). Nice warm cottage. Honestly cannot fault Pentre Court in any single way. We thoroughly enjoyed our stay and wouldn’t hesitate to come back again. Thank you Manon for making it such a lovely experience.

I booked Pentre Court Cottage for a very special birthday celebration for a member of my family, the cottage was just perfect and met every need and requirement we had.

The cottage kitchen was full of everything we needed to host a celebration dinner and allowed us to relax in the warm and cosy living area. The location is perfect for a trip to Raglan Castle or a walk around Abergavenny town. A very special thank you to our hosts who left us a lovely goodie basket of treats upon our arrival. I would have no hesitation in booking this space again, nor would our doggies who loved the enclosed garden area for zoomies. Thank you so much.

I’m not sure where to start with this property, as soon as we arrived we were blown away.

From the secure garden for our dogs to play in, ample off road parking for all guests, the most well equipped kitchen we’ve ever seen! As soon as you walk in the cottage, you are hit with a feeling of comfort. The owner was more than happy to answer any questions we had prior to arrival and couldn’t have been more welcoming. Pentre Court Cottage was the perfect house to spend Christmas in.

Manon, the owner, was great and went above and beyond. We were all so impressed with how well stocked the kitchen was. The garden was great for dogs and you can’t beat the location for walks or popping into Abergavenny itself. I’d recommend the house to anyone!

A super family base to rest and explore this beautiful part of Wales.

The property is characterful and cosy and resourced exceptionally well (including hundreds of books and a fantastic range of equipment in the kitchen!). The hosts are friendly and welcoming and ready to respond to any needs you might have. The secure paddock garden is a great feature for anyone bringing furry friends (who are also made to feel very welcome at Pentre Court). The house is very clean and provides plenty of space for extended families.
