Bwthyn Trecoed

This was our first visit to Bwthyn Trecoed and we were delighted with our stay.

It was nice to have the in person handover of keys and quick tour of the property rather than read a manual and use a key safe. The place itself was spotless and clearly well maintained. The photos make it look smaller than it actually is and as a family of five we never felt cramped. It's a good location to be away from the hustle and bustle of some of the busy towns but also easy to access the lovely coastal towns in Carmarthenshire and Pembrokeshire. A special mention also goes to Bella, the farm dog, who made sure the children were always entertained when we came back after a day out!

We were welcomed by Gwen upon arrival, who went through everything needed for the property and made sure we were okay with everything.

The cleanliness as we walked in was immaculate! As we went around the property, we were surprised to find everything we needed from washing up liquid to plenty of toilet rolls. We brought a lot of our own essentials that weren’t really needed. The beds were so comfortable as well. The pictures really don’t do this property justice, it is simply breathtaking. Plenty of room for everyone. The gardens were also very well maintained and spacious. We loved waking up some days and seeing cows outside on the field opposite but we never heard them when inside. We took leisurely walks around the area daily. Very peaceful and so relaxing. We were even offered to meet the calf’s just down the farm, but my little one was more interested in playing with the farmers dog called Bella lol. She was so lovely, and would greet us or join us on our walks. My little one (3 and a half), fell in love with her more than the holiday house. If you are heading out most places are only about a 15-20 minute drive to the nearest beaches. Tesco supermarket was also only about 25 minutes away. We have came home and really miss this place, which doesn’t happen often! We would love to stay again, and can see why this place has been booked out for over another year!! We will be back as soon as we can! Little slice of bliss! Thank you so much!! We have made memories that will last a lifetime!

We had a wonderful week at this property.

It was so clean and comfortable and had everything we needed and more. The two gardens were a huge bonus for us having two boys, they enjoyed playing fetch with Bella the lovely farm dog every day. The cottage was so quiet, it was blissful to not be able to hear anything (including cars on the road) expect from the birds tweeting. You do have to drive everywhere as there is no local pub or shop within walking distance but this didn't matter to us, and we knew this before booking. The Pembrokeshire coastline is amazing, we loved it all and had a wonderful week. We will hopefully be back to this cottage next year. Many thanks again to Gwen and family for your hospitality.

A delightful spacious cottage in a lovely rural location.

It has everything you need for a comfortable stay. Bella a super and well behaved dog from the farm next door comes to visit every day and always wants to play ball, any children will love her. We liked the place so much we have booked it again for September.

This is our second time here and in general we had an enjoyable time.

A heatwave with extreme temperatures fell during our week and as we couldn't find any fans, we got in touch with our point of contact to see if there were any fans in the shed, as we didn't have keys. We left a message but didn't hear back. I would suggest fans are provided at the property so that anyone who stays in the future during extreme weather doesn't feel as uncomfortable as we did.

Super property right in the heart of the country, next to a farm.

The location was perfect, and allowed us easy access to the quiet Carmarthenshire countryside and coast - not forgetting Tenby. Absolutely could not fault it. My wife is a Carmarthenshire girl, so we will definitely rebook.

Simply superb - excellent base for exploring South Wales Loved it so much we've booked again for next year

Excellent property - the cottage was clean, well equipped and set in a great location for exploring the south wales coast.

Kitchen had everything, bedrooms were all nicely sized and decorated to a good standard, bathrooms clean, showers powerful, heating/hot water was smart controlled and seemed efficient. All fittings/fixtures were solid, quality items, like the owners cared rather than just putting in any old rubbish. Check in and the pre booking info was all clear and straightforward. Had a small problem with the WiFi that was knocked out due to bad weather, but owners couldn’t do enough to fix - we raised it on the Saturday, just so they knew it was down, and an engineer sorted it within 2 days, couldn’t have arranged it quicker at home. Overall a highly recommended stay, we’re already looking to book our next trip.

We had a great time at Bwthyn Trecoed and hope to return at some point in the future.

We were greeted by Gwen, who was very friendly and helpful. The cottage was lovely and clean, homely, warm and also spacious; the photos don't do it justice. We weren't far from St Clears for basic shopping and places to eat, and the location was perfect for exploring further afield too. The gardens and patio were very well kept and we sat outside with a coffee on a few occasions. We had a mixed bag with the weather, which is to be expected in October, but also a few dry days and clear nights so we could use our telescope for star gazing, which was amazing. There were various little birds visiting, bats at dusk and, of course, Bella the friendly farm dog, chaperoning us back to the cottage after we'd been out and playing fetch. We really miss her! We would highly recommend Bwthyn Trecoed and can't wait to come and stay again.

Highly recommend

After a long trip, we were greeted by a cheerful Mrs Gibbon at the house, and shown around; very nice house and better / bigger than we were expecting!

Everything we needed was there, and after settling in, we went off for something to eat at a nearby pub. Following a good night's sleep, we went out exploring the local area; there were lots of castles, and places of interest everywhere! Back at home, we were surrounded by lovely countryside, with birds singing, the farm's cows in the surrounding fields quietly chewing grass, and hardly a sound of any sort of vehicles or traffic....lovely! All in all, we really enjoyed our stay here, and one day, we'll probably be back again.

Very well equipped cottage.

Spotlessly clean. Very spacious. Lovely garden area although we had very wet week & couldnt really sit out. Very peaceful.

This was our sixth visit to Bwthyn Trecoed and the experience was truly wonderful from start to finish, the usual warm and friendly welcome from Gwen and Bella the farm dog.

The cottage itself is comfortable and welcoming, with plenty of space for the family. My two boys enjoy staying at the cottage as there are two lawned areas to play and one has a small goal so they could play football. Everything was clean, tidy, and provided everything we needed. The location is also excellent, nice and peaceful. Plenty to do as you are within 20 minutes of many places Saundersfoot, Tenby, we even visited Folly Farm and Manor Wildlife Park. I would definitely recommend this cottage and look forward to returning next year.

Lovely cottage.

One of the best I’ve stayed in. Tucked out the way so have to drive everywhere which was expected. Facilities were great and beds comfy. Garden and surroundings (it’s surrounded by a working farm) were really nice and my kids loved that the farm dog visited everyday. Highly recommended.

This is an outstanding cottage, very clean and well presented.

Secluded away from the farm with nice gardens and plenty of open space. We were blessed with two weeks of super weather, most unusual for Wales, and we were able to explore throughout the area. We loved the Welsh Botanic Gardens, Tenby, and visited many interesting castles. We would recommend this cottage and would book again should we wish to return to this area Paul and Bev

The property was lovely.

A home from home i beautiful surroundings. The house was fitted out to a lovely standard. It was lovely and clean. So comfortable. Gardens were lovely. It was a lovely peaceful place to be. The whole family loved it so much we have already booked a return visit for next year. I have to mention loved our visits from Bella the farm dog too❤️❤️❤️

The location of the cottage was perfect for some star photography as well as some peace and quiet! The house was immaculately clean and had all the facilities you would need. The garden and outside space around the house is well kept and we were very fortunate that the weather allowed us to make use of the space. It's a beautiful, peaceful, superbly equipped house. We would love to stay again!

This is a lovely property.

Tastefully furnished by the owner. Situated on a very tidy farm, with friendly dog. We were walking the coast path, so well placed for travel. I would recommend this lovely house to anyone looking for a peaceful haven in the countryside.

Our third time at this cottage, if you are looking for peace and quiet, wonderful surroundings, beautiful countryside and beaches close by you will find all of these here.

Had yet another fantastic time at Bwthyn Trecoed, have been a few times now and each time we have had a fantastic time.

This was our first time during the summer holidays so got to enjoy some sunshine which meant a day at the beach in Saundersfoot which my 8 and 11 year old boys enjoyed. We visited many attractions in the area all roughly half an hour's drive from the cottage Folly Farm, Carew Castle National Botanic Garden of Wales and many more. The cottage has everything you need, it's clean and tidy and when you arrive you have a nice warm welcome from Gwen who even helped us out when the washing machine packed in, within two days she had replaced it with a new one. We enjoyed it so much I have already booked a week again for next year.

In a brilliant area with so much to do locally. Very friendly owner, the house was very clean and had everything we needed. Had a perfect holiday thankyou so much

you need to ensure you bring essentials with you like milk tea etc as no shop in the village there are garages not too far away but def bring the essentials

Great property, well maintained and with all the equipment needed for a week away.

Two gardens, so plenty of outdoor space. Lovely dog from the farm next door who likes to come over and get you to throw a ball or sticks for her. This is in an isolated location, so you really need your own transport. There is no disabled access, so not suitable for anyone who can't manage stairs. Great base for visiting the Welsh coast (some amazing beaches) and countryside. Property provides a real escape from the hustle and bustle for anyone who wants some peace & quiet. I would certainly go back again.

This is a lovely cottage within a farm.

It is secluded and quiet surrounded by fields. Short drive to a town with all facilities. The cottage is well decorated with all the items you could require. Have visited the cottage for the last 4 years and although there were a couple of maintenance issues this time we have booked to come back again.

A lovely well maintained cottage with beautiful gardens.

Directions to the cottage are a little confusing as the first right turn after the bridge also says Woodhouse!! Also 6pm check in is very late and 9am check out is very early!! Otherwise we had a very enjoyable holiday xx

This was the perfect relaxing break we needed.

To wake up every morning and open the bedroom window wide, with an uninterrupted view of the countryside and the only sound being the singing of the birds, not even the hum of traffic in the distance. If you like privacy and peace, this property fits the bill Jane Parry

She also gave us a lovely introduction to the property, which meant our stay was comfortable and relaxing. The property is beautiful, well equipped, incredibly comfortable and is in the most serene, peaceful location.

This property is as amazing as it looks on the listing and situated in a beautiful location right near the farmhouse but in its own grounds with a large back garden complete without outdoor furniture and a big area at the front where my son enjoyed playing with Bella the farm dog whom he just adored (she was encouraged to visit us regularly by my son !

Who threw her ball and played with her) We had a fabulous multigenerational holiday with me and my husband in our 50s, our Son aged 14 and my father in law aged 90. The cottage is very homely and has a TV in the comfy lounge with a blue ray player and another TV in the dining kitchen. This cottage has every convenience on hand the owners have made it a true home from home. The small touches were lovely the hand towels, washing up liquid, dishwasher tablets, toilet rolls were all provided and the property has jigsaws, games, dvds and even a hairdryer & ironing board ! The location is great for visiting a variety of attractions including castle, stately homes, parks, national trust properties, towns such as Tenby and of course the wonderful coastlines. We even had a spectacular day out at the Welsh show caves which were most impressive. Definitely a super cottage !

We had a fantastic week in the cottage and highly recommend it.

It was spotless when we arrived, well furnished and the kitchen was well stocked with utensils, cutlery and pans etc. Plenty of towels to use too. As a family of 5 (3 very active boys) it was a great base to explore South Wales and the two lawns provided plenty of space for outdoor games. The goal was well used! Gwen was there to welcome us and show us around, accompanied by the farm dog, who was very friendly and just wanted to play! We will most definitely be booking again when we return to South Wales!

Lovely cottage on a peaceful farm.

Short drive to local shops where you should find all you need. Just about everything you could need is in the cottage.

! The cottage is lovely, exceeding well equipped and comfortable. The directions to find the property were accurate. The property is amazingly quiet apart from the birds. It would make an excellent location to stargaze as its so dark, but the weather didn't play ball for us to do that. The property also benefits from the friendly farm collie who sometimes came for a fuss or a game of ball. The property is well located for both Pembrokeshire and Carmarthenshire with good road links in both directions.

Fantastic, we would undoubtedly stay here again.

Lovely, spacious well equipped cottage.

Plenty of space for 5 adults. Bonus having 2 bathrooms and a large utility room with an extra fridge freezer. Top quality furnishings. Felt like a home rather than a sterile holiday let. Large fenced in grounds (ideal for children) with plenty of parking space. We were walking the Welsh Coastal path and this was the perfect place to base ourselves. Plenty to explore around whether you're into beaches, history, walking or general sightseeing. Highly recommended.

A home from home.

Great greeting to start the holiday off. Cottage was cosy and warm. Towels galore were provided, plus footballs for outdoor fun. So quite and peaceful, an enjoyable relaxing holiday.

Gwen was a lovely welcoming host, and the cottage was very well equipped for our stay. The pictures don’t do it justice. It was clean and spacious. The outdoor patio was lovely- we had great weather so made the most of this! We loved the secluded location of the cottage and equally the ease in which we could explore the local area. We spent most of the week at saundersfoot beach, with visits to Tenby, laugharne, Llanstaffen and the botanical gardens. We will definitely be back

It is the first time we have never wanted to leave a holiday cottage in Wales or the UK as this cottage was perfection.

Gwen was so welcoming and the cottage had everything that one requires whilst in a property. The cottage was immaculate in every way, beautifully furnished with top end cabinets and furnishings, wardrobes, kitchen equipment the list is endless.It was in such a good position to get to many places of interest and beaches including Carmarthen, Tenby, Saundersfoot, Laugharne home to Dylan Thomas set by a beautiful estuary, Aberglasney gardens, St Davids, Llansteffan, and a little gem we came across Amroth. We had the best nights sleep in the main bedroom which was spacious and had all the storage one needed and more plus the little Gwen special touches that made it feel like being in your own home. Nothing had been stinted in the other two bedrooms either and were of the same highend quality. Only just arrived back home but will book soon for next year.

What a lovely holiday cottage, it was so clean, spacious and comfortable, the beds were especially comfortable and we all slept really well.

The gardens and patio area were just amazing, we were lucky with the weather and enjoyed a lot of time outside and enjoyed a BBQ or 2 for the jubilee! It's the perfect base for exploring the local area. We were all sad to leave and will be looking to rebook again, possibly for 2 weeks next time as there's still so much for us to see and do in the area.

We stayed in this lovely for in July 2021 for a week.

It was clean and comfortable with a well equipped kitchen. In a very quiet location but yet within easy reach of all the places of interest. We could not fault it.

This property is fantastic.

The welcome was warm and friendly, and the property was immaculate and made an excellent base to explore the surrounding areas. We visited Tenby, Pendine Sands, Laugharne, Llansteffan, Cilgerran, St Davids, etc. Highly recommend it and hope to come back again.

The cottage is in a lovely secluded spot on a farm.

You have views of fields all around and it is so peaceful. There is everything you could want and need in the well furnished rooms. You are 5mins drive from a pub restaurant and a 10min drive to the nearest town where the nisa supermarket will have most of what you will need there are also various take aways. Looking forward to returning.

The cottage was perfect and exceeded our expectations.

It was better than the photographs suggested, incredibly well equipped, spotlessly clean and located with easy access to lots of interesting places to explore and nearby beaches. The owner was exceptionally helpful and we would thoroughly recommend a stay in the cottage. We will be recommending it to our friends and family!

We were lucky to have good weather, the cottage was everything we could have wanted.

It was central for a number of lovely beaches that we made the most of. It was our first time in South Wales and were delighted with everything we saw. I am sure we will be returning another year. I would like to thank Sykes for the birthday gingerbread man that arrived at my home the day we came back.

The cottage was absolutely perfect.

The pictures do not do the house justice. It was comfortable, warm, cosy and had everything you could possibly want. No expense has been spared in the furnishings down to the bedding, towels and utensils. The weather wasn't great so we didn't use the outdoor space on offer, which was a shame, but the gardens were huge. Will definitely be going back to this cottage and Gwen was so friendly and helpful and very attentive.

The property was spotless and was very well appointed set in a very secluded location, that’s why we choose it, but near the main roads to get to this picturesque part of the UK.

Excellent location for us surrounded by beautiful countryside and not far from sea.

Cottage was very private with generous parking and large lawns on two sides and a large patio as well as seats in other places to catch the sun at different times of the day. The birdsong was tremendous. Cottage was spotlessly clean and very practical in its equipment; particularly appreciated the large warm utility room with plenty of hooks for drying wet coats....however we hardly needed them as we had sunshine most of the time

The house was spotlessly clean and extremely well presented in a secluded countryside location.

The routines of the dairy farm were fun and interfering to see. We headed out to the nearby seaside most days including Tenby, Amroth and Saundersfoot. The patio was lovely when the sun shone and the ample garden areas gave the kids room to play safely.

Beautiful cottage.

Once my husband (who has a disability) got used to the stairs, we settled in well and enjoyed our time in what is a stunning property. We were pleased to find a good supply of blankets available as the duvets were lightweight. Those trying to find the property in the dark upon arrival might benefit from clearer signage. Once there, they, like us, are sure to be thrilled with a holiday cottage that is difficult to beat.

This is a fantastic place to stay.

We were welcomed by the owner who went through things about the farmhouse. The farmhouse is well equipped. This is our second visit and probably will NOT be our last The area around is full of things to see and one pearl is Picton Castle. We had a lovely lunch there and the guided tour of the castle was entertaining and amusing, the new owl sanctuary was brilliant, we even got to meet a Harris hawk close up. Five stars all the way for this property.

Wonderful cottage in a lovely quite location.

Everything provided for a relaxing away from it all holiday. Mrs gibbon greeted us with a warm welcome on arrival. Cannot recommend it highly enough. Will definitely return.

Quiet location and close to so many great beaches...

We had a great stay at a lovely cottage in a peaceful location, the accommodation was top quality with so many amenities.

The weather was great all week and with all the travelling around South Wales it was enjoyable at the end of each day to relax in a pleasant and private garden. We would certainly recommend a stay here.

Great holiday cottage, with all the amenities you could wish for.

Great location to explore Pembrokeshire, Carmarthenshire with Cardiff just 90 minutes away. The cottge was very comfortable, well equipped and extremely clean and tidy. The host was brilliant and met us on arrival to show us around. All in all a great cottage at a great location.

The Sykes website actually doesn’t do this beautiful cottage justice.

The house is 100% brilliant. Spotlessly clean, comfortable and every room has been thoughtfully finished. The location is exceptionally rural and private with no neighbours and a private entrance. Absolutely wonderful house. Sykes need to update details to be more accurate as the website isn’t detailed enough to sell the advantages of this place.

The cottage is wonderful.

Everything you could want is provided. Situated on a working farm and the peace and quiet was just fantastic. We loved every minute of staying in the cottage - even on the rainy days!! We would certainly return if the opportunity arose. This part of Wales is beautiful.

Our short holiday break at this location was fantastic the cottage in a country setting very clean and well equipped everything you may need was provided a home from home experience, we had a few days of nice weather and was able to visit nearby towns and beaches Tenby is a must along with Carmarthen Castle plenty to see and do here.

Nothing to fault this property.

Immaculate, peaceful, secluded, very well equipped. Have seen previous reviews that the driveway is only suitable for a 4X4. I do not agree at all. I have a VW Golf and I had no trouble with the driveway whatsoever. yes is it is an un-tarmac'd road but if you drive at a sensible slow speed - appropriate to both the conditions and the possibility of children and wildlife being on the road - it poses no difficulties at all. I would definitely recommend this property and would definitely stay here again.
