The cottage is in a lovely peaceful area with lots of lovely scenery and walks close by.
We enjoyed our stay here. There were just a few issues. We didn't seem able to get live TV and there were no instructions for the TV as stated in the literature for the cottage. The dish drainer on the sink was quite rusty in places and needs replacing and the wheelie bin had squashed bags of dog poo in the bottom of it.
Great holiday for two adults and a Labrador.
Property is very nice with good Internet connection. Large garden with stream, so young children would need supervising as highlighted in the cottage description. The location is very quiet in a dark sky area and is an ideal base for exploring. Everything we hoped for and we appreciated the history of the property and it's sympathetic conversion from the local smithy to a home.
This cottage was beautiful, in a stunning location.
It was clean and had many great amenities that helped make the stay a success. The garden and river were brilliant for the dog and for the adults to sit in after a day exploring the area. The only downside, was the refuse collection process. When we arrived, there was already dog poo in the bin and some recycling. The waste collection system also doesn’t work as we put it out Thursday for the “private company “ to collect but this never happened, so sat outside looking unsightly and creating a potential issue with pests. There also weren’t any black bin bags, so once the one provided had been used, we had to use carrier bags that we had brought with us. The bags that were there, were dog poo bags. This did detract a little from the overall stay, but is easily fixed in my opinion. Provide bin bags and ensure that the waste is collected as per the instructions and this would be a 5 star accommodation.
