We have been using pentag cottage for our 'base camp' for years now, ideally situated in the village with all amenities just a short walk, cottage has all we need and is comfy n warm.
Newport us on the main coast road so easy to explore north or down the coast to the south
Ideally situated for beach & local walks.
Information book was excellent. The selection of local walks within the book was very helpful Well equipped property, everything we needed was there
Very comfortable and in good position
A very comfortable cottage in a great location .
Our stay was great. Panteg is very well equipped and comfortable. The thick walls of the cottage made it cool in the hot weather we had during our stay. We would definitely think about booking again in the near future. Safe garden and parking are high on our list of requirements and Prenteg had both of these.
Panteg is ideally located just a short walk to the centre of Newport and its shops, restaurants and pubs.
A walk down the hill takes you to the estuary with a pleasant walk to the left for the Parrog or right if you want to cross the bridge to follow the estuary round to Newport sands. The property itself we found to be comfortable and well equipped with an enclosed garden which is ideal if you’re bringing dogs. Off road parking is also available which can comfortably fit two cars if required. We are frequent visitors to Newport and would definitely stay at Panteg again. A special thanks to the cleaning team for forwarding our misplaced keys :).
We found the cottage an ideal base for exploring the Newport area.
There was everything we needed for a lovely week stay with our dog. Plenty of hot water, a well equipped kitchen and utility room. Comfortable seating in the lounge. Spacious main bedroom. One small point it would be good to list there is no shaver/toothbrush charging point in the bathroom.
Thank you so much for your lovely review. We are so pleased you enjoyed your stay in beautiful Newport. We are always very glad to have feedback, and have updated the light in the bathroom to include a shaver socket
We had a great stay at Panteg, brilliant location close to the Parrog & all the amenities in our favorite place, Newport!
The cottage is well equipped & had everything we needed. Double car parking space is a real bonus & we were lucky enough to make use of the enclosed garden as the weather was great while we were there!
We have stayed at this cottage numerous times before, love it, everything we need, comfy, warm if needed and well equipped.
Great position in the village, 10 minutes walk to pubs (3 of which welcome dogs) local shops for daily needs. 20 min walk to the beach. Already booked to go back in September
Wonderful cottage in great location.
Well equipped and comfortable. For me the bed was a little uncomfortable hence 4stars for comfort but fine for hubby. Loads of walks and eateries close by. Lit the log burner one evening and it was toasty. Loved our time at Panteg and will definitely return.
We had a wonderful stay here even though the weather wasn’t great all week, the cottage is well equipped, cosy and clean!
No complaints as such but a couple of suggestions.. The bathroom downstairs would really benefit from having an extractor fan fitted as you can see there is damp on the ceiling, the upstairs bedroom doors could do with plaining as they drag on the carpet as this would quickly wear the carpet, the shed in the back garden is ideal to have but we were unable to store our bike rack and roof bag as it’s full of stuff that has become mouldy/broken, there is quite a lot of rubbish or looks like left over renovation stuff in the garden, also the back gate to the garden there is a top bolt on the inside but there is no other way to shut the gate and I’m not tall enough to put the top lock on from the outside when leaving the back garden, it’s super handy having a drive to park the car as the road is narrow but in the wet/winter this becomes really really muddy and slippy so maybe the drive could having some chippings laid? Definitely no complaints and the facilités in the area are enough, spar, butchers, pubs and cafe also perfect for the dog walks. I would recommend this property and we hope to return!
Thank you so much for your lovely review and suggestions. We have replaced the shed with a metal one which will take a couple of bikes. The back gate lock has been updated and we are hoping to sort out an extractor once we have worked out where to run the vent. The drive can get rather muddy over winter but does drain fairly quickly. All good wishes
Great little cottage.
TV came on during first night bit alarming so need to switch off at plug! Has everything you would need. School nearby but road outside not overly busy and no noise from school. Village has lots of independent shops and pubs. Great fish and chips from the Parrog. Recommend
The cottage is in a great location - easy to walk to the shops and a few minutes to The Parrog.
Very well equipped.
Perfect stay. No room for any improvements at all. Would be perfectly happy to stay there again.
A lovely homely cottage with everything you could need .
Comfortable and warm .
A lovely cottage in an ideal position with the added bonus of off street parking.
Comfortable beds and pleasantly decorated. The lighting in the kitchen is a little on the low side and the TV interesting in it’s eccentricity.. it would be nice to solve that unless it’s due to outside conditions.
Thank you for another fantastic stay at Panteg.
This is the third time we have been and thoroughly enjoyed our stay in this lovely cottage. It has everything you need, the location is superb and the private, enclosed garden is an added bonus. We shall certainly make a return visit.
Lovely cosy clean cottage.
ideal location for days out.short beautiful dog walk to estuary is so convenient.cottage equipped with everything for your stay.comfortable beds and powerful shower.secure garden for dog. table and chairs to sit out at night.nr to pubs ,cafe and restraunts.
Very central property to amenities, lovely and comfortable
Lovely little cottage within easy reach of town.
Everything was fine and the cottage was well equipped with everything we needed. Really comfy bed and the living room was cosy, with the heating being on for a long time during the day.The TV was a little erratic, because it came on when the heating came on at 6.30am, which was a scarey wake up call. The windows need replacing,as they all had condensation on them all day,and the front door needs replacing as there is a massive gap down one side which counter acts the heating being on. But on the whole we had a lovely time.
Panteg was very well positioned in village with bars/cafes and restaurants.
In walking distance to the estuary. Cottage was warm and comfatable. Enjoyed our stay. Dilwyn Bowen
Excellent accommodation and useful literature in the form of maps and local information.
We thoroughly enjoyed our short stay. No complaints whatsoever!
Great property with perfect location and everything we needed for a brilliant week away!
Highly recommended
We loved the stay, thank you very much!
2nd visit to panteg cottage.
We like its well situated position and the parking. Everything nice and clean and very well equipped. We do feel the patio area needs an update as being pensioners found the slate chips hard to walk on. Also a toilet upstairs would be a bonus. We enjoyed our stay very much and would recommend it.
Hoover still not replaced.
I bring my own!
Excellent stay.
Very comfortable.
A beautiful Welsh cottage in a perfect location, close to High Street and shops one way & the beautiful walk into along The Pembrokeshire Coastal Path to Parrog the other way.
Very well equipped with a secure & sunny back garden for us & our Jack Russell to relax in, would love to return one day.
Another lovely stay in Panteg.
Thank you!
First time at this cottage.
Favourably impressed. Comfortable and pretty well equipped. Had a very enjoyable stay. Just a thought - we have stayed in many holiday cottages and a few basics in the kitchen cupboard are always helpful - salt, pepper, some teabags for when guests arrive. We will certainly book this cottage again.
We really enjoyed our stay and would definitely go back.
The cottage was warm clean & comfortable and had everything we needed for our holiday.
It was well situated in Newport with handy local shops and cafés and also for lovely walks along the estuary and further afield - with the footpath to The Parrog and Newport beach at the end of the road. We had a lovely week exploring the area & would like to make a return visit one day.
Two minor issues need fixing.
We were there in bad weather and the car parking area was a quagmire. It just needs some gravel or hardcore. Secondly, the kitchen light needs replacing with a fitting that actually provides some light - it’s almost dark in there, even with the light on. Otherwise, everything was fine.
A lovely cottage in a good location.
We thoroughly enjoyed our stay in Panteg Cottage.
The cottage was very well equip, comfortable and warm. The location to both the town and beach were excellent, with great walks for dogs. Pembrokeshire is such a beautiful county even in the winter. Newport is a great little town, with everything that you need and more. Most of the shops, restaurants and pubs closed on New Year's Day, which would be something to be remembered for another year - but as we left on the 3rd January, it didn't really affect us.
The cottage was lovely , very clean and warm with everything you could want in it to cook a meal .
Wonderfully placed to head into the village where there are lovely cafes and places to eat . Highly recommended and hope we can come back soon
Stayed here again lovely cottage got all u need ,good walks for the dogs
Another enjoyable week in this lovely cottage.
Lovely comfy cottage in perfect location with estuary path at the bottom of the street (with beach beyond) and village centre and shops at the top.
Great for our growing family of four. We will be back!
Panteg cottage is well situated in the lovely coastal village of Newport.
Beautiful beaches are on your doorstep and shops and pubs five minutes' walk away. The cottage has everything you need and is very clean and comfortable. Perhaps greater clarity on the recycling would be helpful! I would however recommend the cottage.
The back door of cottage needs to seen to , the lock / key kept on jamming, needed to use that door to let dog out otherwise I would have just used front door , at one point it took 5 mins to open the back door
Thank you for your feedback. The back door lock has been attended to.
Despite later check in time, fruit bowl and tea bag dish had not been cleaned.
Basket in lounge for "used items" contained a game. Heating did not seem to be timed, so had to manually adjust down before going to bed. A very enjoyable stay, though, and we will be returning.
Second time been this cottage , they have put up coat hanger in laundry room and left vacuum cleaner as we said they could do with this last time we stayed .
we love Newport been coming for many years now and this is the best cottage we have stayed in
We have spent another lovely week at Panteg.
The cottage was comfortable and I really liked the kitchen diner. However, having to negotiate an awkward stairs to use the bathroom during the night is not as easy as it was. A toilet and washbasin facility in the landing large walk-in cupboard would be the answer, and also help those with young children.
Perfect location, super little cottage.
Owner a delight and went above and beyond to help. Cleaning Requires some finer details. Would happily return for future stays. Booking process easy and efficient. Many Thanks
