Description

The seaside town of Newport / Trefdraeth has Carningli Mountain (The Mount of Angels), the medieval church and beautiful castle as a backdrop.

The Pembrokeshire Coast Path is less than 5 minutes' walk away at the Iron Bridge on the upper reaches of the river Nevern estuary, where many different varieties of wading birds are spotted daily.

The cottage is just a few minutes' walk from a butcher, baker, deli, general store and a selection of welcoming pubs and restaurants serving excellent food.

Within walking distance of the cottage are Parrog beach and the Boat Club.

Traeth Mawr - the 'big beach' is a 20-minute walk along the coast path (or 3 miles by road) and offers a mile and a half of silver sand with rock pools, dunes and cliffs backed by the 18-hole links golf course.

This cottage is perfect for a couple or a small family at any time of the year

Lovely area to visit.

Property needs a lot of work. Keys were not in lockbox..instead were found on the drive with a second set found under the green food bin outside 2 days later. Raining on arrival..gutters leaking and outside drain overflowing. Dried up the next day so didn't have to listen to leaking gutters for long...instead had the delights of a constantly dripping kitchen tap and a dripping showerheads for 4 days..i would recommend ear plugs. Electrical goods worked well but beware of the very sensitive smoke detector..further investigation showed it was undated and probably in need of changing anyway. Likewise..service info on gas boiler was provided but no evidence of it having been checked in the last 3 years. Glass in the internal doors doesn' t seem to be safety glass and the stair banisters would be climable for inclined children..be aware. You will also need to be taller and stronger than me to deal with closing the velux windows..there is a pole but its not that helpful. Internal wall under the stairs and behind the kitchen units very damp and unsightly. Broken electrical socket in the living room should be avoided for safety reasons. Thanks for providing pegs for drying clothes..very useful. The property definitely has character but is in need of much tlc.

We thoroughly enjoyed our stay in y Bwythyn, it was just ideal for the 2 of us and dog.

Everything was provided ready for us. It was clean and tidy except the blinds were very dusty. Weirdly there was no hoover tho they provided brush and pan. There was a drip in shower but we didn't see this as a problem just kept the food shut. It was in the ideal location for us and especially for Woody who loved his long walks. It was only a shame we had to leave a couple of days early due to family emergency. Thumbs up for us

Really disappointed.

We stayed here 4 years ago and chose to return, however this property is really tired and needs some TLC. The plumbing in particular needs attention, the furniture internal and external is close to the end of its useful life. We reported the plumbing issue to the letting agent but nothing appeared to have been done. This property comes with travel cot but is not really suitable for toddlers (stone floor, open staircase, glass door probably not toughened glass, lots of sharp edges. This property needs a deep clean especially under the sofas. The cutlery, crockery, pots & pans etc are all poor quality. On a positive note the property is reasonably well equipped including wi-fi, just feels like this property has been neglected. We love the area but be mindful that this property is underwhelming.
