Description

Porthyrhyd 2.5 miles.

Nestled on the edge of the Towy Valley, resting near the village of Llanddarog amidst the scenic South Wales countryside, lies this wonderful, detached barn conversion, Ystabl Robyn.

Benefitting from underfloor heating, an enclosed garden and welcoming two pets, Ystabl Robyn offers an ideal base for two couples or a family looking to explore this part of Wales.

Step through the pastel green front door into the kitchen/diner, complete with original slate flooring throughout; make use of the integrated appliances as you prepare a hearty dish, before gathering at the dining table and toasting to a much-needed escape with your nearest and dearest.

Carry the conversation into the lounge, where you can kick back on the sofa and enjoy a film from the TV.

At the other side of the cottage lies a ground-floor bedroom, serviced by a gleaming shower room.

Head upstairs to discover the mezzanine-style bedroom, set with a futon that opens into a double bed, along with a Velux window with blackout blind offering an outlook of the surrounding countryside.

Start your morning on the patio furniture, sipping a coffee as you ponder the day ahead.

Head into the village of Llanddarog and discover two traditional pubs, The Butchers Arms and White Hart Inn, where you can enjoy a hearty meal and a pint, whilst there is also a post office for grabbing the essentials.

There's a selection of landmarks and attractions nestled throughout the countryside nearby.

Within easy reach of your new home, you will find the gorgeous National Botanical Garden of Wales, an idyllic spot for a walk in nature.

Cyclists will rejoice with a ride along the Number 47 cycle route that runs less than a mile from the property, whilst fishing enthusiasts can spend an afternoon at the Pant y Bedw Fishery.

In Nantgaredig, you can tuck into some traditional pub fare at The Railway, which is popular with locals, whilst Wright’s Food Emporium in Llanarthne is also worthy of a visit for foodies!

Discover the imposing Kidwelly Castle, a Norman fortress where you can brush up on local history, whilst there is also the National Trust Sites of Paxton Tower and Dinefwr, a historic Newton House immersed in a National Trust Nature Reserve and 18th century landscape deer park.

Six miles away lies the historic town of Carmarthen, home to the iconic Carmarthen Castle and Carmarthenshire County Museum.

Further afield, the historic spot of Llansteffan Castle and Beach can also be found, whilst a day out in Saundersfoot is also a must during your stay in the region.

Explore the best of South Wales with a relaxing break at Ystabl Robyn.

It is a lovely barn conversion and the immediate location is very peaceful.

It was a little too close to the A48 and you could hear the hum of the traffic but that was our fault for not checking the map. A couple of really small points; the toilet seat was a bit wobbly, the downstairs mattress was a bit too soft (but that's our preference), not much water pressure from the shower and we were a little confused about bin collection but none of these things spoilt our stay. We did visit some beautiful areas and we thoroughly enjoyed our holiday. Thank you for the welcome pack and my husband bought more of your eggs during our stay.

A lovely well equipped property, very clean and plenty of space for family.

In a lovely area and very dog friendly, close to beaches, parks and castles, plenty to do. The owners were extremely welcoming and hospitable. Thank you for a lovely holiday.
