Castle at The Hideaway

Great location with parking- 5mins walk to North beach.

Bit longer to castle and south beach but still easy walks. Short walk to coop and Sainsbury's. Parking on site. Didn't need car except when doing trips outside of tenby. Location is great. Lovely to have private garden and lovely tree with shade and outside tap- very handy to wash off sand from the beach. Odd bit of maintenance/updating needed in off season however very clean and modern and much bigger than looks. Generally quiet despite flats being all attached but no noise from the town as way off the road and short walk but close enough to enjoy. Would recommend and have booked again!

We have used this property before and we have found it excellent.

There are some very minor issues, but nothing that would stop us from booking this location again.

Amazing accommodation!

Everything you need is in the apartment. Great location, just a short walk into Tenby town centre and the beaches.

We have stayed in this building before, but not in this appartment.

Everything was as it should be, no complaints. It would have been nice to have had two sets of keys as there were two couples who didnt always go out at the same time.

Second year with The Hideaway.

Tried two apartments now. North Beach last year and Castle this year. Thoroughly enjoyed both holidays. Location superb. Will definitely return.

We had a lovely stay at the castle at the hideaway.

It was spacious, light and airy and the garden was perfect for our two boys. The location was amazing, a few mins walk to all the shops, restaurants and beaches. The bath towels were extremely small and very thin and the pillows were also very thin, hard and lumpy. Other than these issues I would highly recommend and be happy to return.

This was our second visit to the Castle at The Hideaway and it was as good as our first.

The house is clean, comfortable, well equipped and in a great location in Tenby. The parking is a bonus. We highly recommend this apartment and will definitely be back for a third visit.

Location great.

Communication from owners was great and the accommodation was exactly like the photos. A two minute walk into the top of the town. Another brilliant holiday at the Hideaway. Would easily recommend.

The best holiday home I’ve stayed in.

. the place has such a lovely chilled vibe in there it was perfect the decor the furniture. Everything you needed was there Perfect location definitely be back again.

.... only slight niggle i had was the gardeners arrived at 8.30 Saturday morning with no prior warning and just let themselves in the garden, I had just got out the shower and was not expecting this so had to quickly cover up and wait till they had left, could of been informed of this especially the time they arrived... other quests were still asleep.

This is a lovely clean, spacious and comfortable apartment with everything you need.

It's in the perfect location, just a short walk to the town and Harbour so no need to move your car unless you a want to go outside of Tenby. We had a wonderful stay in The Castle and will definitely look to book at the Hideaway for our next stay in Tenby.

Fantastic accommodation and location.

The Castle was bigger than expected, facilities very impressed, comfortable beds. Weather was good so could take advantage of the Castle garden on return from day trips. On site parking is brilliant, the Hideaway is a short walk from Tenby beaches, shops, restaurants, pubs. Lovely stay at the castle.

Very clean and comfortable, and the owners have thought of everything that you could possibly need. Easy walk into town where there are lots of nice pubs and restaurants. Great location for exploring Tenby and the surrounding area. We would highly recommend.

Well equipped, spacious, light and airy, with high quality furnishing and comfy beds.

Ideal location - being 5 minutes walk from centre of Tenby. Allocated parking a massive 'plus'. Provision of tea, coffee, milk, sugar and biscuits very welcome after a long drive. Welsh Cakes a delicious addition.

Gareth and Emily are greaf hosts and deserve to do well.

The location is perfect, just a short walk to the lovely beaches of Tenby and the local restaurants, pubs and shops. The apartment was immaculate with everything you need for an excellent holiday. The parking space right outside the door is a huge plus especially in Tenby where parking is at a premium. Perfect.

The photos of the property do not do it justice, it is a lot bigger that we anticipated and had a wonderful stay. Location wise is perfect, less than 10 min walk to all the beaches, bars and restaurants. Fabulous stay and we'll be back next year. Thanks Gareth and Emily.

Perfect location with an easy walk into Tenby. Even though the weather wasn't nice, it was great to have the garden space. The lovely touch of milk, tea & coffee upon arrival was much appreciated

Beautiful apartment, spotless, great facilities and location spot on.

The apartment was better than expected and larger too. We were two couples and had plenty of room with a nice quiet private garden.

Property ideally situated for strolling into Tenby and exploring Pembrokeshire.

Parking literally by the front door was helpful. Lovely bright lounge for relaxing in the evening with bonus of a small garden. Good to have 2 En-suite bathrooms. Master bedroom was extremely spacious. Would certainly recommend and will definitely return.

The property is immaculately presented and much larger than the photos suggest!

Each bedroom has its own en-suite with a bath in one . Sainsbury’s, the town centre and also the beautiful North beach are all only a short walk away . We had beautiful weather while staying there and were able to open the patio doors to the decking and private garden where a blackbird serenaded us daily . There is a dedicated parking bay for each apartment right outside the door which is a real bonus in Tenby ! While we had no problems and didn’t need to contact the owners during our stay, all prior communication was friendly and detailed . If we return to Tenby we will definitely book Castle at the Hideaway again .

Spacious and well-appointed in an excellent location.

Excellent property, stylish and comfortable, ideal for 2 older couples, great to be able to walk into Tenby and leave the car, but also to get out and about to see the lovely area, and we even had good weather for most of the time.

We preferred Saundersfoot for eating out - easy parking, free after 6.30pm, and a range of good pubs/restaurants to choose.

Lovely, comfortable place to stay right on the doorstep of Tenby.

I will start with the positives and hope that the negative observations will be taken into account.

The accommodation was exceptionally clean and in good condition, The bedding was immaculate and beds comfortable. The location quiet and sleep was not disturbed by the close proximity to the town which enabled us to walk to town without the use of a vehicle. Now the downside: the main bedroom had no power socket near the mirror. Drying your hair without a mirror is possibly a male but certainly not a female consideration. The remains of a single toilet roll only were in both bathrooms. If toilet rolls are not to be provided, may I suggest that, that information is included on the notes before arrival. The shower cubicle in the main bedroom albeit of the latest design had no-where to house soap, shampoo, conditioner etc. Everything had to be placed on the shower base. A storage unit is required in that shower. Also, a shelf or two by the sink would be an advantage especially if two guests occupy that room. The non-provision of toilet gel renders the toilet brushes useless. Surely guests are not expected to bring their own toilet cleaner? There was ample supply of both washing machine and dishwasher tablets which I imagine are rarely used so why not toilet cleaner.? The toilet base in the small bedroom En-suite is unstable, that needs urgent attention. Once again shelves are sadly lacking in that bathroom. And I challenge anyone to locate the power sockets in that bedroom. After crawling on hands and knees we eventually found them BEHIND the headboards. The only power source in that room is inaccessible. Also, there are no shelves for personal belongings. A set of shelves on the wall behind the door is essential particularly for two guests. My friend used the spare bed for all her personals and toiletries. The television had limited stations maybe 8 or 9 certainly not a normal Freeview selection as was expected. The kitchen supplied a knife block none of which could peel vegetables. A small sharp knife is essential along with a strong pair of scissors neither of which were supplied. Why was there only one tiny tea towel? Surely funds could stretch to more than one? There again another purchase was required along with toilet rolls. Finally, we objected to the instruction of stripping the bed linen before we vacated. The cost of our November 4-night break exceeded £500 for two guests, with that in mind we did not expect to strip our beds like hostel guests. If (expired) Covid precautions is the explanation, then perhaps I can suggest the wearing of gloves rather than expect paying guests to housekeep on vacating. May I add as an experienced self-catering user this is not the first time I have complained to both Sykes Cottages and owners on the lack of the small obvious details that can make a holiday more comfortable. I do hope that on this occasion my observations are considered. Regards Sue Whitford

This was our third stay at the Castle the fact that it is the only holiday rental that we have ever returned to says it all.

Lovely clean and comfortable property.

Short walk away from all amenities in brilliant Tenby.

We had a most enjoyable stay at the property which is very spacious, comfortable and clean.

Location is excellent, just a few minutes walk to the High Street but set in a quiet cul-de-sac. We particularly liked the private terrace and garden accessed through large folding doors from the living room. The owners, Emily and Gareth are very pleasant and obviously take great care of the property. We would definitely recommend this property.

Enjoyed our stay very much, the property catered for all our needs, was easily found and was located near the town shops and beaches.

It was clean and spacious and had a great outdoor space. It was also easy to drive out from to other locations, could not fault.

We have just returned from a week's stay in the Castle at the hideaway in Tenby.

We have been to tenby a few times before and chose this property due to its central location and amazing looks on the photos. We were really impressed with the size of the property and it had everything we needed, great kitchen and a good shower. We used it as a base for long course weekend and the beach is literally a 2 minute walk away, but once you are back inside the property you would think you are miles away from anywhere it was so quiet! We will definitely be recommending this property and staying again ourselves.

Beautiful accommodation, well equipped, clean and great location.

There is so many wonderful places to see in and around Tenby, needed 2 weeks instead of 1! We really enjoyed our stay, very relaxing surroundings, it is certainly the Hideaway retreat we needed. Thank you Gareth & Emily for sharing the Castle at the Hideaway. We would definitely recommend and hope to be back in the future.

It was spacious, very clean and comfortable. The garden was a lovely area to sit in and the allocated parking space at the front door was great. A fantastic location, within 5 mins walk to everything in Tenby. We will definitely stay here again.

The garden with a southerly aspect was a delight, especially after long walks on the beautiful Tenby beaches.

A retreat from the bustling Tenby streets, the garden provided an ideal relaxing space to unwind in the sunshine, read, and enjoy a glass of wine.

Great location and superb layout for us as a family of 4 with adult kids.

We were lucky enough to be there in the July heatwave so 3 large french/sliding/bifolds gave us so much air circulation. Garden area was a complete godsend. Walking distance to many places to eat or many places to collect shopping or takeaways. Parking spaces.fab and WiFi was great (crucial for us) across all rooms.

Tenby town centre and its beautiful beaches are just a few minutes away on foot. Perfect location for a family beach holiday or to walk the beautiful coastal paths. We loved it !
