Penally Mews

From the moment we arrived we felt welcomed by Tanya and Sally.

They had thought of everything to help us celebrate my dad’s 80th birthday. They were helpful in recommending The Ferry Inn for the birthday meal and Crwst for the birthday cake (we also had breakfast in the town one and lunch at the beach one in Poppit). When we arrived the living room had been decorated with banners and balloons and there was a lovely welcome basket and milk in the fridge. The house had everything we needed and the beds were the comfiest I’ve had at a holiday rental. We tried the chippy, the cafe by the Abbey and bought flour and honey from Y Felin. The local shop was handy for essentials (cake and ice creams lol). Good location for Poppit and a 20 min walk into Aberteifi. Grain was good for pizza. Thanks for a fantastic stay.

We, there were 7 adults, had a lovely stay at Penally Mews for 5 nights.

The property is wonderful and probably the best we have stayed in. Its Clean, very comfortable with plenty of space and equipped with everything you would need for your stay. we had 4 motorcycles and a car and there was plenty of room on the drive to park. The owner sent us lots of information about the area which was great and really appreciated. A short walk approx 15-20 mins and you are in Cardigan, with lots of shops, pubs, cafes and restaurants. The Water mill Y Felin, across the road from the cottage, is well worth booking a tour and the Fish and chip shop Mor Ffein, up the road is amazing, we had it twice it was so good

The cottage was exactly as described and very well equipped. The owners were very helpful and very communicative. There was lots to do nearby. Would definitely recommend and look forward to another visit!

As a family over the last 25 years we've enjoyed self catering holidays in uk and abroad .

Penally Mews has given us the best experience to date with regard to cleanliness comfort and equipment, together with being dog friendly . The property is in the centre of St Dogmaels which gives easy access to amenities such as the local shop, open market, eateries and the watermill where they bake their own bread. The bigger town of Cardigan is only 3 miles down the road which has much to offer. The local sandy beaches are wonderful and plentiful and there are many places of histrical interest in the area. We had a lovely stay despite some variable weather.

We've just returned from a wonderful week staying in Penally Mews.

The house is absolutely perfect for a large family holiday. The facilities are excellent bedrooms very comfortable and beautifully furnished. The garden is a sun trap and just of the kitchen. The elder children in our family loved the trampoline. We had a BBQ most days and enjoyed watching the children playing. Great location too Highly recommend no guest will be disappointed

From the moment we arrived, it was clear that real care and thought had gone into this property. The house was absolutely spotless — not just surface-clean, but genuinely immaculate throughout. It’s evident the owners take real pride in how they present it. The level of kit and furnishings on offer was impressive. Everything you could possibly need was already there, which meant we could hit the ground running and focus purely on relaxing rather than running to the shops. It’s the little touches that elevate a stay, and this place had them in spades. Location-wise, we couldn’t have asked for better. It ticked every box for us and made the whole trip so much easier to enjoy. But what really stood out was how comfortable it felt. Not in a generic, hotel-room kind of way — this genuinely felt like a proper home. Cosy, well-thought-out and welcoming. We found ourselves completely unwinding in a way that doesn’t always happen on holiday. We came away refreshed and already talking about when we can go back. Highly recommend to anyone looking for a stress-free, comfortable retreat. Five stars without hesitation.
