Such a cosy hideaway to escape to in the evening.

It was really magical walking around the garden and have bunnies hopping around our legs!

The ideal place for a peaceful retreat, but still be close to Carmarthen.

Delightful cottage with a lovely welcoming host.

However cottage needs a few repairs, daylight through rotted door panels, windows that wouldn’t open and desperately needed painting. Sofa needs replacing as it very uncomfortable. Very rural and wonderfully quiet, a place to sit outside chill.

A lovely cottage which felt like home from home.

Very clean and comfortable and warm and inviting after a day of local adventures. It was a bonus to be able to do a wash load half way through the week. Very thoughtful and welcoming hosts. Staying here ticked off all the boxes for a countryside getaway.

Make sure you have some wellies with you though as gateway at beginning of drive can be very muddy . Every thing there to help enjoy your stay

The property is so peaceful and secluded. Adrian is an excellent host. Very friendly and helpful. Only fault i could find is that maybe the bed needs a new mattress!

This was one of the nicest holiday cottages we ever had- and we've had quite a few.

A lovely place to be, two wonderful hosts and such a beautiful area. Very well equipped (only minus could be that there's no WiFi), and it's so nice to wake up from the mooing of a cow, to be greeted by rabbits on the grass before your window in the morning. We would like to come back.

Everything is just perfect!

It's like a little piece of paradise. Adrian and Jeff are attentive and fantastic hosts, nothing is too much trouble. Loved the cows popping their heads through the hedge! Sitting back and watching kites fly above our heads was amazing. Anyway I'm counting the days down until we are back.

Everything I could need was there, and Adrian was a great at meeting me when I arrived. So very peaceful, and I loved being woken up to the blackbirds singing every morning. Thank you very much!

Very peaceful, had great facilities Friendly welcome

A delightful cottage, set in a lovely peaceful environment.

Just right for 2 people. Initial problems experienced on arrival were quickly dealt with. The only significant downside was the absence of Wi-Fi (available in the main house). Literally off the beaten track, a satnav is a must for negotiating the maze of single-track roads in the area.

We really needed this secluded break. Beautiful country setting. The owners were fantastic. The holiday absolutely flew by. We will be back hopefully.

The cottage was a home away from home, spacious, comfortable and so peaceful.

The kitchen was well equipped with everything you could need, the bath and shower were excellent, I really cannot fault this place. Being able to look up and see all the stars at night was amazing, by then end of my week I was ready to move in permanently!

Adrian met us upon arrival and guided us through the basics of the cottage. There was a lovely welcome cake which we thoroughly enjoyed , we would definitely recommend this cottage and its surroundings to anyone wanting to just get away and relax from every day life. Oh and don’t forget the beautiful dark skies as amiture photographers we spent the few nights that was clear enough taking photos of the milky way. In one work Perfect .

A very, very cosy place to be if you like the quiet outdoors.

It is our perfect holiday hideout. Adrian and Jeff are the most lovely hosts. Generous, always helpful and ever so kind. We intend to return for a third time next year and look forward to it !

The owners were very welcoming kept us updated on when we could arrive also sent us directions of how to get to the property.

They also brought down a disable step so I could safely get into bath so I could have a shower. They went above and beyond to make sure we had a good relaxing holiday

Great hosts! Amazingly equipped cottage. Warm and cosy. Normal double bed with comfy mattress. Spotless cleanliness. A bit muddy lane in rain. Definitely recommended. Amazing week in October 2023. Thank you!

Very comfortable accommodation in a peaceful spot.

Condition of property was very good. I was well looked after by hosts and very helpful. For self catering it was good but could have done with another mixing bowl or microwave bowl if you're preparing meals. Situation to explore surrounding area was ideal.

The cottage is in a beautiful location and the owners were very welcoming and friendly.

Loved the daily chicken visits. The owners lived on site in the B&B but very much left you to enjoy the cottage and the peace and quiet. I would recommend the location.

A fabulous choice for a 'quiet get away'.

Everything is provided for a comfortable stay. Adrian made us very welcome and, although he and Jeff live in the main house, they were not intrusive The area is very beautiful and we saw lots of breath taking scenery, beaches and castles. We hope to re-visit sometime

A property full of rustic charm set in tranquil surroundings which is just what we wanted.

It's remote enough for all the peace & quite anyone might want (without having to endure lots of one track farm lanes to reach it) but also close enough to use as a base to explore a lovely part of Wales. The views are beautiful from every which way inside & out. The added bonus of seeing the lambs every day was a personal favourite of mine. Adrian was a great host with his contact before we arrived to make sure we had accurate directions. We received a very genuine warm welcome on our arrival, with a heartfelt touch of a homemade Bara brith & some spring daffs from the garden. A touch we've not had before but made a huge difference. Everything you could need is in the cottage including local tourist info for ideas to visit, games etc. Adrian clearly cares & it's evident he wants his guests to share what a special place Cilwen is & we both definitely agree, thank you for a fabulous stay. We wouldn't hesitate to return.

Perfect stay from start to finish!

A lovely quiet hideaway, full of charm and excellent facilities. We explored the whole area (so much to do, but special mention to Jin Talog), and it was so nice to return each night our little haven. We couldn't have asked for a nicer cottage or better hosts - thank you to Adrian and Jeff x

We had a wonderful time staying at Cilwen Fach Cottage.

The cottage was equipped with everything that we needed. We really enjoyed the Bars Brith that was baked by the owner, Jeff. We enjoyed playing, Operation, a game I had when I was little. We enjoyed our stay and will be back soon!! Thank you Adrian & Jeff.

Lovely cottage in beautiful, peaceful location.

Great hosts, friendly and helpful but unobtrusive making the cottage and it's gardens very private. Well equipped. Very pretty area to drive around. Catch of the Day is a very reasonably priced fish restaurant in Cardigan and Corbus Inn in St Clear do a good Sunday lunch again for a very reasonable price - best to book these places as popular

We had the perfect holiday!

The cottage is so cosy and peaceful, beautiful views and we loved the hens. Perfect location for exploring, we went out in a different direction every day and visited many beaches and castles. Thank you!

A wonderful stone cottage in beautiful surroundings, a perfect place to go and relax away from day to day stresses.

Some driving required to get to beaches etc. We will most definitely be booking again.

We had a lovely stay at Cilwen Fach!

There were fresh eggs and cake left for us when we arrived! The cottage itself was very picturesque, with beautiful garden and facilities. If we needed to ask any questions, Adrian was very accomodating and helpful and sorted out any issues we had without delay. We would highly recommend the cottage to others.

What a fabulous long weekend away!

The property was perfect for our needs and we were greeted with a warm welcome (plus a homemade cake and half a dozen freshly laid eggs - thank you so much for those!) by the owner on our arrival. The cottage was well laid out and is one long flow-through style (kitchen, lounge/diner, bedroom, bathroom) and has pretty much everything that you need for a self catering stay. No real negatives to the property. My only suggestion would be perhaps having a nightlight in the lounge area to save having to put a main light on during the night if you need to get up for a drink of water etc and don’t want to risk waking your partner or walk into something, but that’s just an observation and not a criticism. Plenty of wall sockets which was a bonus especially in this day and age of everything needing to be charged up. I would definitely recommend Cilwen Fach to anyone looking to stay in this area. No there aren’t any facilities in walking distance but this wasn’t an issue for us as we catered accordingly and there are plenty of places to eat in Carmarthen which is only about a 15 minute drive away. If you are looking for peace and quiet in the Welsh countryside then this is a perfect place to stay.

We had a fabulous 6 night stay at Cilwen Fach.

The cottage is delightful ,fully equipped with everything you could possibly wish for. Lovely comfy bed too. The hosts are lovely guys, helpful but not intrusive. Plenty of things to do and see within a 45 minutes drive. Will certainly stay here again.

This is a brilliant place to go in order to get away from it all.

It really is in the middle of nowhere and the setting is beautiful. The hosts are just great, and kept us supplied with lovely fresh eggs. The chickens would come round to see us each morning and we were allowed to feed them. Every trip out starts and ends with a lot of narrow lanes but once you get to the main roads it is easy to get to a large number of great places. We are particularly fond of Laugharne and Cenarth, which are close by. A lovely part of the country and a great place to unwind.

The place is difficult to find because of its out of the location but its a lovely place with a very warm welcome, The fresh eggs and homemade cake were a very nice touch.

We were made very welcome and had a fabulous breakfast and evening meals. We had some lovely days out at some beautiful beaches around half an hour drive away. A pleasant quiet place to stay.

Very rural location, very quiet, only sounds are birds and the odd sheep baaing.

Weather Was horrible most of the time but it didn’t matter as the cottage was so welcoming and warm.

The cottage exceeded our expectations, the owners were very friendly and welcoming.

It was located in a peaceful and quiet location yet within driving distance of numerous places to explore, from the beautiful coast line to the rolling hills, castles and quaint little quay sides. This cottage is ideal for a quiet break away or as a base to explore from. Not to forget the beautiful cake, freh flowers and gorgeous eggs awaiting us on our arrival. A definite 10 out of 10!!!!

Adrian gave us the warmest of welcomes, and made sure we had a pleasant and comfortable stay.

This is a holiday to remember ! We shall return.

Cilwern cottage is a beautiful place and the owners were absolutely brilliant

The cottage was cosy, welcoming and restful.

We had a lovely holiday in the peaceful Welsh countryside, Adrian was helpful and welcoming his old world charm vied with the cottages to make our holiday the rest we really needed. By far the nicest place we have stayed - it made a change to have a really comfortable bed, a bath and shower and lovely furnishings in keeping with the cottage not the usual generic Ikea uncomfortable furniture or bright in your face colours. Will most definately be booking again. And the lovely homemade cake, fresh laid eggs and flowers as a welcoming gesture was just wonderful and unexpected.

The cottage is set in a rather out of the way situation but this in itself means its quiet and peaceful and when we were there only heard chickens (in the garden) and lambs, some very small.

It was truly great. The facilities were fantastic - plenty of boiling hot water and also control (if we needed too) of the heating to the cottage. We went during fairly mild spell so not necessary to change any settings at all. The people looking after this cottage were very welcoming and helpful and could not do enough for us. Only one drawback no local pub!!! - but then at the rate pubs are closing all over the country hardly surprising!!

At very short notice through the support Sykes cottage (thankyou so much) we were sourced this wonderful cottage on an very low bugdet.

We were delighted by its standard of cleanliness and it offered a fully accessorised kitchen, good hot shower over bath tub. It was warm and cozy, draft free and easy to manage. Only 30mins from the nearest beaches and supermarkets, with some of the most gorgeous beaches within an hour, we'de hit the jackpot. We were suprised by housewarming gifts of freshly homebaked cake, a lovely bouquet of flowers and had an ongoing supply of freshly laid chicken eggs "wonderful", what else could you ask for. The kids were delighted by the chickens on the lawn and indulged in feeding them breadcrumbs. The friendly proprieters who lived just next door were very accomadating, happy to deal with any questions but not in your face. I would definately recommend if your looking for an the beaten track holiday where you can relax in absolute peace and quiet and seek out adventure on your own terms.

Lovely setting hosts were excellent and could,nt be more helpful , the meals we had were superb , could not fault anything at all.

They were on hand should anything have gone wrong. The home made cake and the eggs on arrival we much appreciated. We were greeted every morning by the chickens. Enjoyed sitting in the garden in a peaceful setting surrounded by the lovely countryside. Would certainly like to visit again.
