Pant Y Cwtsh
Description
Kidwelly 2.7 miles.
Wales.
Pant y Cwtsh is a charming annex that is attached to the owner’s home, close to the town of Kidwelly in the southwest, and is set over two floors and is a wonderful place for couples as they explore this beautiful part of Carmarthenshire.
Step into a small entrance hall where you can leave your boots and jackets before continuing through to the open-plan living space, equipped with all the essentials for a short break, including a combi microwave/oven, 2-ring hob and a fridge.
Reward yourself with a local takeaway or rustle up a hearty feast to serve at the dining table; afterwards enjoy a movie on the Smart TV.
As the evening comes to a close, whisk yourself upstairs to the bedroom, boasting a generous super-king-size bed which can be arranged as a twin on request, and serviced by a gleaming en-suite shower room where you can prepare for the day.
The bedrooms benefit from amazing countryside views, so be sure to enjoy a cup of tea at the window in the morning sunshine.
Book a table at the Red Lion, boasting a friendly atmosphere and traditional menu, ideal if you fancy a night off cooking!
If you enjoy fishing, there is the peaceful Gwendraeth Fach with 500 metres of water or if that's not your thing, explore the Wales Coast Path for wonderful scenery.
The historic town of Kidwelly offers further amenities, including several pubs and shops, along with some fascinating attractions, such as the 12th century priory church St Mary's and one of Wales’ most admirable castles, Kidwelly Castle, recently voted as the fourth best castle in the UK, it’s a great chance to unravel the history of the area.
Not far from Kidwelly, is The Ffos Las racecourse a Welsh horse racing, equestrian sports and conferencing venue, which is a popular attraction.
The Ffos Las racecourse was built at the site of an open cast coal mine after mining operations ceased.
Those seeking a bit of scenery, head to Pembrey Country Park, boasting 500 acres of park and woodland with an array of outdoor pursuits, such as horse riding, laser tag, golf, skiing and much more, plus the sandy beach of Cefn Sidan is a peaceful spot for sunbathing and swimming.
There is also the colourful town of Tenby to explore, where you can enjoy another sandy beach and bustling harbour, or for keen walkers, trail along the South West Coastal Path.

What guests are saying
Pant Y Cwtsh is well situated on a working farm.
The cottage although small is ideal for a couple that want to get away from this busy and noisy world we live in to the peace and tranquility of a lovely Welsh valley. The owner Jen is very friendly and helpful and wants you to make yourself at home for the time of your stay. The town of Kidwelly is a short distance away with plenty of amenities and Carmarthen itself is only 7 miles from the cottage.
Spent 3 nights here with my little one and had a lovely stay.
The cottage was very clean, cosy, and comfortable. It may feel a little compact if you’re planning to do a lot of cooking, but it has all the basic facilities you need. Jen, the owner, was incredibly helpful and lovely. Would happily stay again!
We spent four very comfortable nights at Pant Y Cwtch.
This is a lovely property and is made up to a very high standard. It is situated in a beautiful and peaceful area, with very easy access to local towns. It suited our needs perfectly when visiting family in the area and we will definitely try and stay there again, if it's available. Diolch yn fawr.
