Some 3 miles east of Aberaeron, Llanerchaeron is a fine example of an 18th century Welsh gentry estate which is now under the care of the National Trust.
It was designed by John Nash as a self-sufficient complex with its own farm and gardens supplying all that the estate required.
The estate and house are open to the public - please check the National Trust website for opening times and prices here. Many events are held at the estate throughout the year but even when no events are organised the estate is well worth a visit to explore the walled gardens, old farm buildings and the house. Seasonal produce is also available to buy from the kitchen garden.
