“Well this was our 2nd stay at Blaenywawr Annexe and it did not disappoint.”

Spotlessly clean, the location is perfect for exploring the whole of Ceredigion Bay & surrounding areas, the facilities were perfect, and above all the hosts were brilliant, couldn’t do enough for you & welcome gifts were a lovely touch. If you like peace and tranquility, then look no further than Blaenywawr Annexe. Great value for money too. We will definitely be returning.

“First of all my 3 stars is for one reason only.”

This property, although on one level, was not accessible if you have any disabilities. The property was lovely if you are fully able bodied. I have a spinal injury, the bed was uncomfortable, the gap between the bed and furniture was too small, I was holding either side of the wardrobe and shuffling sideways to get in and out of the bed. The shower I felt was small and safe, it seemed to be non slip. However, dont hang your towels on the hooks as when you open the door from the shower you have to get out, shut the door and then grab towels. The door covers the hooks when open. The sink in the bathroom was the smallest sink ever, im 5ft 8 and it just reached my hips. Bending to wash hands was difficult with a back issue. Also there was nowhere to put any accessories, just a trolley which was not ideal. The sofa in the living room was low and also uncomfortable, trying to get up and down was difficult especially at the end of the day. Now this review seems very negative, but its not meant to be, its more about making anyone with mobility issues aware that this property is not suitable for you. The owners are very friendly check in with you to make sure everything is ok and your having a good time. If my partner was giving a review he would give 4.5 stars. The area was lovely, peaceful and relaxing. The main bungalow would have been better suited to me with mobility issues as it had more space.

Place was clean comfy and warm. Garden is a great sun trap and I was lucky to get sun all week. The use of a dish cloth would be good as its easier to wipe down in kitchen after use but otherwise lovely

“Nice and quiet.”

I mean *really* quiet and well away from the busy Aberystwyth/Cardigan road. But driving up the back roads got easy access to the big towns without problems. The little shop at the petrol station up the road wasn't needed but looked useful for odds and ends without having to head off to Lampeter.

Absolutely stunning property in a beautiful and stunning location. Perfect place to use a base to explore the surrounding places. Spotlessly clean and very reasonably priced. Very peaceful setting. And if you like wildlife then it’s the perfect place for you. It’s Red Kite country too! We will definitely be back!

Lovey quiet location garden is beautifu. Met the owners lovely couple. Property is about 30 minutes drive to Aberystwyth , new quay and Aberaeron, boat boat rides in New quay to see dolphins are amazing.

“We found The Annexe a tad remote and small.”

It was clean and the bed was comfortable. The shower enclosure needs a shower caddy to hold shampoos and shower gels together with a shower mat outside the door. Wet feet and tile floors are not a good combination. The kitchen was reasonably well equipped ,however, there was no bread board or bread knife. We will not return.

Very clean and welcoming. Bathroom a bit of a squeeze, sink almost unusable as too small and too low. Maybe two towels each for a week? Could have done with some chopping boards and tin opener not working. Overall a great little place to stay.

“As a couple, we enjoyed our short stay in the annexe, and thank you for the welcome treats of the welsh cakes and water.”

If you want to stay away from the hustle and bustle but still be a short drive away the location is great, it was so tranquil. It is also great from the perspective that within 30 minutes you can visit some great places north and south of the property. The annexe is compact which is to be expected and it has everything you would need. I would say that if you are staying in the annexe and not the main building don’t bring a lot of “stuff” with you otherwise it may end being kept in the car :-) The only negatives but not affecting the review would be that the doors are a bit creaky and particularly the bathroom do not close on the latch easily and needs an extra push but that is being picky, and it would be useful for some explicit leaving instructions re bedding and towels as the generic Sykes instructions pretty much say follow instructions at the property. The key question is would you stay here again, and the answer is definite yes

“What an absolute little gem of a cottage!”

Just the right size for two - compact but ideal. Well equipped, tastefully decorated, spotlessly clean and very comfortable. We were in the area for the whole week for the National Eisteddfod of Wales which was held in Tregaron this year. The annexe (and its adjoining larger bungalow) is in a very rural, ‘away from it all’ location which is absolutely beautiful, especially on a gorgeous summer’s day. You can reach nearby villages, towns and places of interest in the lovely county of Ceredigion quite easily - though just be ready for driving on some surrounding narrow country lanes! We had good communication with the owners and a much appreciated welcome pack on arrival - diolch (thank you)! We would happily recommend Blaenywawr Annexe as ideal accommodation for a delightful break for two in the Welsh countryside.

“Blaenywawr annexe from our time we opened the door it was home from home with everything just so well equipped and very clean.”

We had a phone call from the owner Jean to see how we were. unfortunately. We found the bungalow to be situated in a very nice location and very quite with nice lawns would we recommend this annex to anyone we sure would.I would like to thank owner Jean for her concern after I had a fall while we were out and phoning me while on our way home and again the following day. Will we back again YES next year hopefully Kath/Tony

LAMPETER

Carmarthen 23 miles; Aberystwyth 25 miles; Cardigan 29 miles.

Lampeter is the smallest and oldest university town in Wales, and boasts a fine selection of small, locally-owned shops.
