“Just came back from a stay at Ivy's Way hut - was such a lovely relaxed time.”

We really enjoyed our time there and was sad to come back! The hut itself is very cosy and clean. We were provided with some milk, waffles and some tea and coffee sachets. The bed was comfortable, mattress was nice and soft yet supportive. Shower and toilet was all good. We had a slight issue with the fridge overheating and turning itself off, but we called the owners and they came over and sorted it straight away. Towels all provided. All instructions for things such as hob, bins and hot tub were online via a QR code. The hut is very close to Rhayader and Elan Valley, so close to places to eat and visit. Really beautiful area but just away enough to feel secluded. A helpful note here for future holidayers is we followed the sat nav instructions that came with the Sykes cottage booking link. It takes you down a different lane and house, so don't follow the maps instructions off the website. In the end we actually found ivy's way on Google maps and lead us directly to the hut. Definitely recommend staying in the summer. The views were wonderful, it was warm enough in the hut without any need for heating or firing up the wood burner (although it's worth noting that logs and kindling is a small extra charge and doesn't come as standard). However the best part for us was the hot tub and going out at night when the sky was clear. The view of the night sky without light pollution was phenomenal. We got to see so many stars and we could see the outline of the milky way stripe, which you don't get to see in populated areas. Just incredible! There are highland cows in the field in front of the hut who were so lovely to see and there were 2 babies! My animal lover heart was very happy! We also met Phil who is part of the staff who helps out and he was so lovely and fun. Really nice person to interact with and was very welcoming. Also I think it's worth mentioning but there's other huts and hobbit houses in the area, but on their own plots - so not as isolated as I believed it be before we arrived, but still had enough privacy of our own. Overall we very much enjoyed our stay, loved our hut and hot tub and was overjoyed with the views and night sky. Would definitely like to come again, probably in the warmer months for sure as it gets pretty windy being so high up.
