“The lodge is equipped with comfy furniture and all the amenities you need on a self catering holiday.”

The only downsides for us were the lack of control with the heating. It is only on twice a day, 2 hours in the morning and then from 4.30pm in the evening. As this is November with 2 and 3 degree days we were buying plenty of wood for the fire to keep warm. I had my 70 year old mother with me. The other minor glitch was having to complain the hot tub was too cold. The owner thankfully highered the temperature to 38.5 degrees from the 36 degrees it was set at, telling me 36 degrees is standard, ...

The other minor glitch was having to complain the hot tub was too cold. The owner thankfully highered the temperature to 38.5 degrees from the 36 degrees it was set at, telling me 36 degrees is standard, even though their own literature in the lodge welcome book states it is set at 39 degrees. Because of these 2 points I would only come back here in the summer. I have stayed at quite a few lodges through Sykes and this is the first time we were not given access to the central heating control during the winter months.
