    “Easy to book and a fabulous place to stay.”

    It was our very own hobbit hole. The accommodation was spotless with lots of little special touches added to make our stay special. The hot tub and gas bbq were great features even on a cold evening. The WiFi was strong giving us access to all our tv favourites which we enjoyed whilst watching the daylight fade through the large curved doorway. The location is remote, so we stocked up on all of our essentials before settling in for the night.

The town of Llanfair Caereinion is built upon the site of an old Roman fort, in the valley of the River Banwy. It is a thriving town built around The Church of St Mary, with a Post Office, two supermarkets, and a selection of three different pubs. The annual Llanfair Caereinion Carnival is very popular with locals, and proceeds through the town with a full parade of floats and dancing troupes, providing a Rio carnival atmosphere. There is a river walk along the banks of the Banwy leading to an Arboretum, containing over 25 different species of British trees, an ideal place to explore before stepping back in time and jumping on the start of the narrow gauge heritage steam railway that runs 8.5 miles west to Welshpool. Welshpool nestles into the upper reaches of the picturesque Severn Valley near the border between Wales and England.
