“Fabulous holiday in the most wonderful setting.”

The lodge was above and beyond our dreams. We had an age range from 90 to 18 and all had a wonderful time. Our 3 dogs also enjoyed themselves.

Idyllically positioned in a rural setting on the outskirts of the quaint village of Forden near Montgomery rests this newly-appointed wooden holiday home, Holly Lodge.

Framing panoramic views across the surrounding countryside as far as Corndon Hill and boasting a luxurious interior, Holly Lodge makes for the perfect base for your next group celebration to North Wales.

A spacious gravelled driveway greets you at the foot of this lovely dwelling, making loading and unloading an easy task, leading you over the threshold and into a marvellous open-plan living space, flooded with natural light welcomed in through the picture windows and featuring a perfect blend of traditional and contemporary décor.

Utilise the range of modern amenities provided in the fully-equipped kitchen tucked away at the rear of the sociable space, elegantly-appointed with marble worktops and fit with a stylish island; take perch and share a bottle of wine with the designated chef as they prepare some tasty treats.

Gather at the grand dining table to serve the fruits of your labour, recounting the days adventures as you indulge, or if you're lucky enough to experience the warmer weather, step outside and fire up the barbeque to enjoy a spot of alfresco dining.

Settle down for the evening in front of the television to enjoy a movie marathon, or escape the excitement and retreat to the snug sitting room, idyllically nestled on the first-floor, to catch up on your favourite show as you take in the remarkable views through the aspect window, or delve into the pages of a captivating book as you warm your toes with the glow of the rustic woodburning stove.

End each day in style with a luxurious soak amongst the bubbles in the hot tub, enveloped by the peaceful setting of the surrounding countryside, before heading indoors for a quick rinse before bed.

When it's time to rest your head, you're spoilt for choice between four well-presented bedrooms, the master bedroom, fit with a sumptuous king-size bed and serviced by a contemporary family bathroom nestled on the first floor, along with a twin and two king-size rooms situated on the ground-floor, one of which benefits from access to its own en-suite, ideal for guests with limited mobility.

Lace up your walking boots and embark on a two-footed adventure, following the popular walking trail Offa's Dyke as it travels through the nearby fields; traverse the picturesque countryside as it meets the border of England and Wales, passing through quaint villages and offering superb sights en-route.

Take a break from doing the cooking and head to the nearby town of Montgomery, home to a fantastic selection of amenities; indulge in a spot of pub grub at The Dragon Hotel, enjoy a steaming cup of coffee and a slice of cake at the Castle Kitchen, or savour fresh fish and chips before exploring the medieval remains of Montgomery Castle, built by the Normans in the 11th century.

History buffs will be delighted with a visit to the nearby market town of Welshpool, home to the medieval fortress and stately home of Powis Castle and The Wharf Powysland Museum and Welshpool Library.

Cross the border and venture into the heart of the Shropshire Hills, designated as an Area of Outstanding Natural Beauty, decorated in heath, grass and moorland as well as lush rolling hills; tackle the climb to the summit of Brown Clee Hill, the tallest point in Shropshire, or for a more leisurely experience, enjoy a picture-perfect stroll through the colourful foliage of Rectory Wood, once voted the least stressful spot in England.

Add a touch of luxury to your trip to Mid Wales with a stay at Holly Lodge.
