Enter the property to find a brilliant open-plan living space, the tastefully decorated sitting area boasts built-in seating that surrounds a plush leather sofa, armchair, a toasty electric fire and a flatscreen TV, creating a great entertaining space.

Continue through to find a sleek and well-equipped kitchen, everything you need is truly at your fingertips here, including a washing machine, tumble dryer and dishwasher; the kitchen is also home to a breakfast bar, that is a superb socialising spot for four people.

When the chef of the group has fixed up a delicious meal, enjoy it at the extendable dining table and catch up with your group about your countryside escapades.

When it's time to rest, progress to the back of the property to find two well-presented bedrooms, one being a twin room with colourful accents and the other being a double with yellow finishes; both rooms feature a dresser and abundant storage.

Make your way upstairs to the king-size room that has been given a light and airy feel from its skylight windows, the space benefits from a bespoke rocking chair, a vaulted ceiling and storage, along with a nearby mezzanine snug where you can enjoy a spot of reading.

Tucked away in the rolling hills of Powys in the quiet village of Llandyssil near Montgomery are three redbrick barn conversions of Pentre Farm Cottages. The town of Montgomery sits just one mile from the border of England in Mid Wales. Popular with tourists, the town has a delightful selection of individual shops and a variety of pubs and restaurants, including the Michelin star restaurant, The Checkers, a fabulous way to make your holiday truly special. Pay a visit to the ruins of the 13th century Montgomery Castle, which enjoys beautiful views over the town’s timber-framed houses and cobbled streets, and beyond across Wales. The castle also hosts productions of touring theatre groups regularly during the summer. A few miles to the south is the historic market town of Bishop's Castle, an excellent place for a day or night out with its excellent pubs, live music and festivals throughout the year. The wider area is wonderful for walking and there are many cycle routes in the surrounding countryside with varying levels of difficulty. You can venture further into Wales with a drive up to the Snowdonia National Park, or directly west to Cardigan Bay, for the day, or hop back over the border and explore the Shropshire Hills AONB. A charming destination for a holiday.
