Ideally placed for exploring around Mid and North Wales. The owner, Eileen, was so helpful and friendly. Baked a cake and supplied milk and eggs from the farm. Tea, coffee and sugar already there. We would love to go back sometime home from home. Perfect holiday

“Beautiful property and scenery, very tidy and well prepared for guests.”

Very comfortable in the cottage. Home made cake is a lovely touch, and eggs, (although when I cracked open the second egg it was off, which put us off the rest). I think some fly traps would be a good idea. Also, unfortunately a bad point, the strong smell of neem oil was quite pungent and we feel we should have been pre warned about the smell. We couldn't enjoy the garden or even have a BBQ because of this. We understand it's a working farm, but the neem oil smell was over bearing.

We are also sorry about the strong smell from the neighboring farm during your stay. Because we are in the countryside,local farming work like spreading fertilizer can sometimes cause unexpected odors when the wind carries the scent towards us. Unfortunately we do not have control over their schedule or farming methods. Also thankyou for letting us know about the fly trap. We are sorry that this was missing during your stay and for any inconvenience this caused you.New one has been ordered. We always want our guests to have a comfortable and relaxing stay. As mentioned in our welcome guide our team was living nearby and always available by phone or message during your visit to help resolve any issues right away. “Absolutely fabulous, loved it.”

On arrival there was fresh milk in the fridge, 6 free range farm eggs, can of pop, crisps, chocolate and a home made fruit cake. We where made to feel very welcome and the owner went above and beyond expectations offering to do our laundry and give us a lift in her car if we wanted to go out. The property is immaculate and well equipped for self catering. The kitchen dinner is a good size for a family, there is not a dishwasher or washing machine, this was not an issue at all. The bedrooms are spacious, clean and modern. The bathroom was very clean and spacious. The lounge was a good size for 4 people and again clean, modern and in character for the building.

Cottage very clean and well equipped. Eileen is a lovely lady and kind host, she left us a welcome pack and personally welcomed us to the cottage. We stayed during the extreme heatwave and she checked on us to make sure we were cool enough, even supplying us with choc ices. We would definitely stay again and would highly recommend the accommodation.

“This visit was our second time, we holiday in Wales every year for 40+ years and have stayed in many properties over the years but this holiday accommodation is the best, formerly this property was stables for the farm it was converted some years ago into two beautiful self catering holiday cottages, with original wooden beams and carefully decorated to keep the charm and character what's not to love, Eileen the owner who lives in the farmhouse is a wonderful host she goes out of her way to make sure your stay is perfect, always happy to help and leaves you a homemade cake to start your holiday along with milk, eggs, Eileen also offers to do your washing if you get a bit mucky can't go wrong booking your holiday here at the Stables or the Granary cottages.”

“Lovely cottage, warm, welcoming, well equipped and characterful, providing all our family of 2 adults and 2 children, needed for our New Year stay.”

The views in all directions are great, and although we didn’t get much time to explore the local footpaths, getting out to enjoy the countryside is easily achieved. The local village offered 2 pubs, they were basic but ticked the box, there is a fish and chip shop, Chinese takeaway, village shop and a very good butchers that we used. The cottage had a slow cooker in one of the cupboards, we had planned our catering before we arrived so didn’t use it, but a good stew after a day out was tempting. The owner was lovely, on hand for help and local advice if wanted and she left a very generous welcome pack. There isn’t a dishwasher, although the view from the window above the sink made washing up less of a chore and ideally, we could have done with a slightly bigger fridge for our family of 4 but this wouldn’t stop us from recommending The Stables, we considered it great value for money and well worth visiting.

The property is furnished and finished to a very high standard with loads of nice touches, the cottage was spotless when we arrived. There was some homemade Bara Brith waiting for us, along with milk and eggs. A beautiful peaceful location with open countryside views, with shops and amenities only a short drive away, this place is ideally situated for exploring the Mid Wales.

“Absolutely amazing place to stay, Central for discovering mid Wales.”

Our accommodation was so comfortable, lovely seating out back and front to enjoy the countryside, sunsets and sunshine. Inside had all you needed. Eileen baked us a Bara Brith, plus eggs and milk for arrival.The fluffy dressings gowns were luxurious. the host took our washing and delivered next day, no cost! She is such a character and so friendly, nothing too much trouble. You have to drive the stunning roads through the National parks. No negatives at all, comfy, cosy, clean, slept so well. Just what we needed.

The owner is on site at the nearby farmhouse and is one of the warmest, most caring and helpful people you could ever meet. If you were to have a problem, she is on the other end of a phone. The property is finished and furnished to a very high standard and was spotless when we arrived. There was even some of Eileen's gorgeous bara brith waiting for us, along with milk and eggs. Parking is right outside the front door. We had a very relaxing and comfortable four nights here and will certainly return. The sooner the better! Jeff and Carol The Stables is situated amongst beautiful scenery and is handy for many picturesque towns and villages.

We can honestly say that we wanted for nothing, the property is very well equipped, it was warm, comfortable and spotlessly clean and very well maintained to high standard throughout. Eileen made us feel very welcome and her Bara Brith was delicious too.

The bed is super comfy, plus bunk beds proved a hit with our son, who used both of them during his stay! we have absolutely no complaints, the shower could do with a bit more pressure but you can't have everything, superb stay, and can't wait to come again! My Wife and I were amazed at the high quality of the cottage yet it still retains a wonderful homely feel, full of rustic charm. The only thing that I could think of as a negative is how utterly sad I felt when our holiday came to an end and we had to go home! Excellent host, no intrusion whatsoever but there if you require anything. Home made cake on arrival was another unexpected delight too. Highest possible recommendations from us in every aspect.

Welshpool 8 miles.

The town of Llanfair Caereinion is built upon the site of an old Roman fort, in the valley of the River Banwy. It is a thriving town built around The Church of St Mary, with a Post Office, two supermarkets, and a selection of three different pubs. The annual Llanfair Caereinion Carnival is very popular with locals, and proceeds through the town with a full parade of floats and dancing troupes, providing a Rio carnival atmosphere. There is a river walk along the banks of the Banwy leading to an Arboretum, containing over 25 different species of British trees, an ideal place to explore before stepping back in time and jumping on the start of the narrow gauge heritage steam railway that runs 8.5 miles west to Welshpool. Welshpool nestles into the upper reaches of the picturesque Severn Valley near the border between Wales and England.
