Situated on the outskirts of the popular walkers’ village of Penybontfawr, in the picturesque Tanat Valley, at the foothills of the Berwyn Mountains in Powys is this welcoming semi-detached cottage.

The cottage offers comfortable upside down living on the edge of the village on the owner’s working farm and enjoys some lovely views from the rear of the property.

There is parking on a private gravel driveway next to the cottage, access is up four external steps and one internal step into the open plan living area, furnished with comfy leather sofas and a Welsh dresser decorated with waterfall frescos, a drop leaf dining table and a practical, fitted kitchen.

Mezzanine stairs lead down to a welcoming double bedroom which offers a modern en-suite bathroom with bath and shower over.

To the side of the cottage is a circular patio area with seating which provides a perfect spot to sit and relax whilst enjoying the delightful country views.

There are walks literally from the doorstep onto the hills and the energetic can hike to the famous Pistyll Rhaeadr waterfall, with the highest single drop fall in Wales.

The village offers a welcoming pub, as well as a Post Office and shop, and the popular tourist towns of Bala and Oswestry are less than 15 miles away to the east and west.

This is an ideal holiday destination for walkers all year round.

The traditional Welsh village of Penybontfawr lies in breathtaking countryside amidst the beautiful Berwyn Mountains and surrounding wooded hills and valleys. Only 2.5 miles away is the popular walking village of Llangynog where you can find the Revolution Mountain Bike Park. The area has a history of lead, silver and slate mining dating back to the 17th century. Today it is a renowned location for climbing, birdwatching, walking and cycling, with famous mountain bike trails near Dolgellau, and a mountain bike centre at Llandegla. Penybontfawr village has its own pub, whilst Llangynog boasts two pubs, both of which serve good food and are perfect to relax in after an exciting day out. Enjoy Lake Bala, a wonderful beauty spot, with excellent fishing, a variety of watersports including white water rafting and a lakeside steam railway, or visit Lake Vyrnwy, which has a RSPB centre, bike hire and a sculpture park. Also within easy reach is Pistyll Rhaedr waterfall, the tallest single drop waterfall in England and Wales. This is a beautiful part of Wales and is perfect for touring the rest of North and Mid Wales and even Shropshire.
