Lovely to have a sea view from the ground floor flat.

Very well equipped and comfortable beds. Good location for exploring the local area. Lovely beaches nearby, our cockapoo loved swimming in the sea.

Close to the beach (about 300 yards) and a short easy walk into New Quay. We were impressed. Communicated with the owner who answered our query. Highly recommend this property

The apartment has everything you need for a holiday away from home. It’s an easy walk down hill and a few steps to the beach and at low tide you can do the short walk into New Quey harbour. We will definitely be returning again in the future. I would definitely recommend this downstairs apartment.

Great location, dedicated parking, everything we needed.

It was very quiet, a walk away from the village with its beach, cafes and restaurants. The bed was so comfortable easily the best holiday cottage sleeps ever.

The apartment is clean, bright, spacious and functional with everything in working order. Access is easy and the neighbours are friendly. There is an amazing sea view from the property so you can see the dolphins without even going out, & you are only 5 mins walk from the stunning beach. The location is quiet and peaceful and the grounds are well maintained by the Haven caravan site with plenty of dog poop bins!! It’s about 20 mins walk to the town & harbour which has plenty on offer for food & drink and more. The owner made contact before our trip and was very helpful and welcoming. Great place for a fun and relaxing week by the sea in a beautiful part of Wales.

Perfect location and wonderful views.

Cwtsh Cragen has everything you need for a comfortable stay - there is plenty of space, the bed and sofa are very comfortable and the views simply outstanding. The kitchen has all the crockery and utensils and even a caffetiere. Access to the beach is great, as is the short and scenic walk into town. Claire is super quick to reply to any questions. We really enjoyed our stay and will be back again in the future!

The ground-floor location with its lovely views was perfect, and we couldn’t have asked for a better base. Her attention to detail and the way she responded so quickly to anything we needed was exceptional — we’ve honestly never experienced such thoughtful and speedy help before. This was the perfect location for a little beach town stay.

Really nice and close to the beach (although if you have small ones I would suggest walking down through the Havens park bit as the coastal path route is bumpy and the steps are steep) and it takes about 15/20 minutes to walk into the town which is really convenient - there are some lovely little cafes and restaurants. I would suggest bringing a few bits like kitchen towel, washing up liquid and a good sharp knife (thank you to the previous reviewer re the small sharp knife!) but other than that it’s a lovely little flat and I would recommend.

Great location for us with a dog friendly beach at the bottom of the paths/steps (less than 10 minutes away) and New Quay a 15/20 minutes stroll either via the beach or the cliffs.

Lovely to have a little sea view from the top of the front window too. A couple of little niggles after we arrived were responded to promptly by the owner. Be aware that this is in a row of flats, with a flat above. Unfortunately one night the person upstairs was pretty noisy banging doors etc until well after midnight, which didn't suit our dog and kept me from sleeping. However the rest of the week was fine. The flat was generally comfortable and had what we needed - the tea towels/dish cloth/wash up liquid were appreciated, as were the dog treats. A small sharp kitchen knife would be a welcome addition. There is also no visitors book which is a shame as recommendations are handy. We enjoyed the honey farm nearby - Afon Mel - and the steam train ride from Devil's Bridge to Aberystwyth. All in all I would recommend this property. Just a small point, and I know it's self-catering - but for £1000 a stay, a few spare toilet rolls would have been a nice addition.

The flat was lovely.

It was clean and comfortable. I loved the sea view and the nearby path to the beach. I was disappointed that we couldn't let our dog run on the grass area in front of the flats as there was an "on lead" rule but that was the only negative.

This is our second trip to this excellent property everything that you expect from this type of property was provided it is extremely comfortable and perfect for exploring the Cardigan bay coast from Fishguard to Aberystwyth we will be returning again in the near future and can highly recommend it

This was a great property we found it to be extremely comfortable and cosy all our needs were catered for the location was perfect both for the sea views and its location to explore the Cardigan bay coast.

Just spent a lovely week at Cwtsh Cragen.

This is our second time at this property, our first stay was in May 2022 when we were the very first guests. After two and a half years we expected some signs of wear and tear but no, the property was still in immaculate condition, spotlessly clean and all appliances and fixtures still looked as good as new. The property contains everything you would expect or need of an holiday rental and is an absolute credit to Claire and her staff. We would definitely recommend Cwtsh Cragen and hope to be visiting again next spring. We have been visiting New Quay for nearly sixty years, now in our eighties this is the first time we have stayed at this time of year. Still a fantastic place, much quieter than usual, but most amenities still open. Absolutely love it and hope to be able to visit for many more years!!!

Was supprised there was no feedback book, the bath was not suitable it didn't have any grips for you to get out safely, it was all smooth at top which made it difficult to get out of, but on a positive note the flat was quite cosy.

! Great location, right at the beach, with lovely view of New Quay. The apartment was well equipped. Thank you for the thoughtful touches, such as milk, teabags & waffles on arrival! We also enjoyed some of the games & jigsaws! The property is quite compact for a family of 4 and dog, but felt a significant upgrade on the caravan site, where we normally stay. We had read comments about dogs not being able to run free on shared lawn immediately outside apartment, but this was not an issue. There was a lovely area the other side of hedge where our dog could be off lead & then the coastal path and beach are also just beyond the lawn.

Highly recommend this holiday cottage.

Really lovely interior. Very comfy & cosy beds. It was nice of the owner to message me, that if we needed anything or had any questions, but they had provided everything we needed and more. We were blown away with the picturesque short walk to the beach. We will definitely be returning for another holiday.

It had everything we needed for a long weekend in New Quay, and the hosts were extremely helpful when replying to our queries. The location is ideal, only a few minutes walk down to the beach, and a ten minute walk into the middle of New Quay. I would definitely recommend this place for anyone wanting to visit the area!

We had a wonderful couple of days in Cwtsh Cragen.

The flat had everything we needed, beds were very comfortable and it was lovely to come back to watch TV after a day at the beach. The location of the flat was great, it was very close to the beach and a short walk to the town which was full of places to eat and drink. We enjoyed fish and chips from Lime Crab whilst looking out for dolphins at the harbour. We also visited Llangrannog beach and PizzaTipi in Cardigan - thoroughly recommend.

The flat is in a really good location just a very short drive from the town of New Quay, and only a few minutes walk from a beautiful dog friendly beach.

Inside it is well presented, and comfortable. During our stay it was very quiet with no noise at all from neighbours or from the adjacent holiday park. I would recommend this flat in particular for its beach access but also as a good base from which to explore this beautiful coastline.

Comfortable place to stay and in the most wonderful location.

We had a fabulous week, would definitely come again.

On the surface the appartment was clean, but needs a deep clean.

When the sun came out there were loads of marks on the windows. The shower could be better and the freezer wasn't working. Lock on bathroom door wasn't working. However, the bed was very comfortable and the location lovely. There were a few things that can easily be remedied. Could do with a small sharp knife for vegetable prep, a bath mat, one pillow cover was missing. One small towel and one teatowel between 4 is not enough, nor is half a toilet roll. Small things but their absence make a holiday less relaxed. The owners were nice and apologetic over the freezer and lock and, overall, we had a nice holiday.

The property was as described on the website, it was clean, tidy and had all the amenities we required and a very pleasant place to stay.

Its position inside Quay West holiday camp allowed us to use some of the facilities provided on the camp (shop & takeaways). It is in a great place for walks on the beach and to the town. The only downside is that it is very hilly and would not be good for someone with mobility problems. Overall a very good place to stay we really enjoyed it.

Cwtch Cragen is a perfect place for a very affordable getaway in Cardigan Bay.

The accommodation isn’t luxury but provided everything we needed for a week’s stay with our 6 month old baby and dog. We loved seeing the sea from the kitchen window, and being only a few minutes walk to the beach for runs and walks. New Quay a short walk away along the coastal path (or main road, or beach at low tide) for coffee or fish and chips. Didn’t hear the neighbours at all. Warm. Comfy bed. Parking space. Very helpful host provided her contact details for if we needed anything. Thanks again, we hope to be back.

Bearing in mind this is not a 5 star holiday let and its not 5 star pricing.

The flat has had a nice makeover and all the facilerties are excellent. Everything we needed was there. Lots of piping hot water, good size fridge and large undercounter freezer. As it was in a block it felt very secure. Out of the door onto a path 3 minutes to a wonderfull long sandy beach. If you are looking for a pleasent economicle holiday let for 4 people this is it.

Ok as a place to rest your head.

Site is very comprehensive with a shop for those little things you forget, and a fish n chip shop and pizza place. The site restaurant is also very good. The walk to the beach although not far, is quite limiting as it is down a steep path then steps for the final part. As to Cwtsh Cragen itself, the bathroom is in need of some TLC with regards to the shower (cleanliness) and tiles, there is no washing machine or vacuum cleaner but there are brushes. The beds were reasonably comfortable and the TV is modern with WiFi access. One of the neighbours is very anti dogs, so be warned.

Went for 1 week's stay on the 16th July and can say we weren't disappointed.

Couldn't find the place at first (we're hopless at following directions!) but on contacting the owner who was extremely helpful we located our apartment. It was easy to obtain the key from the wall safe and our relaxing holiday started. Everything was clean and tidy and exactly as described. The beds and bedding were really comfortable and we had the best sleep that we've had in quite a while. A quiet location with a lovely view and a short walk to a secluded part of the beach which was quiet when we went but could imagine that it would be busier further into the holiday period. All in all a lovely and relaxing place for a holiday. We would definitely go again!!

We’ve been coming to New Quay for 20 years or so, and for the last few years more regularly at 2 or 3 times per year.

We thought your place was great - clean and tidy and well presented and had everything we needed. The only downside was when we read in the booklet about dogs not being allowed on the lawn outside - so that did impact us quite a lot, as it meant we were always looking for somewhere to go, rather than being able to relax at the apartment and let the dog wander free. But it can’t be helped. On the plus side, we just loved being able to pop 2 minutes down the hill to the beach every day! We'd recommend your place to others as a great place to stay.

Light, airy compact kitchen /diner and lounge arrangement.

Good sized bedrooms with plenty of storage facilities. Excellent location for beach (5 minutes walk) and Newquay town centre (10 minutes walk). As we are walking the coastal path the apartment was in an ideal location, convenient for buses and a car free holiday. I would stay here again if visiting the area.

We enjoyed our stay, only downside was that the bathroom radiator ( electric ) was not working and the window was locked in an open position thus resulting in it being extremely cold day and night and not a pleasant experience taking a shower.

Welcome pack of tea, coffee, milk and welsh cakes was much appreciated, very comfortable acomadation, would be better if there was smaller saucepans not just large.

(if you only wanted a tin of beans cooked you had to use a large pan) No bottle opener half way through our holiday we had a couple telling us they had booked this apartment for a few days. (through booking .com) They were not very happy when i showed them printout of our booking,

Incredible location, just a stones throw from the beach and short walk into New Quay.

Flat comfortable and great base for exploring the area. Owners easily contacted if any issues or questions and quickly resolved.

The neighbours were very friendly and we very quickly got the hang of the paths to the town and to the beach.

Lovely cosy and clean place, excellent location short walk to the beach and town.

Only downfall was that the neighbours and other apartments were loud during the night and early hours of the morning.

We thought that the property was in a lovely spot, well kept, and within an easy walk of the beach and New Quay itself.

The apartment itself was well laid out, well presented clean and comfortable. It was nice to be able to sit outside on the bench, relax and take in the view and beautiful sunsets. We would recommend it to family and friends.

My wife and I have just spent a lovely week at Cwtsh Cragen New Quay.

On arrival we were greeted with a lovely card from our hosts welcoming us as their very first guests. To mark the occasion they had left us a nice bottle of wine and a welcome pack containing some local Welsh produce. Which was very thoughtful of them and gratefully received. The apartment is located in a very quiet area and appeared to be newly decorated and spotlessly clean. There are two quite large bedrooms with plenty of storage and hanging space. The living area contained mostly new furniture and the kitchen/dining area also contained mostly new electrical appliances and an excellent assortment of cooking utensils and cutlery items. The smart TV and Wi-Fi worked fine and there was also a selection of books to read. Everything you could require in a holiday rental seems to have been catered for. Cwtsh Cragen is situated right on the edge of the coastal path/Dylan Thomas Trail that can be accessed from the bottom of the communal lawn. A short walk along this path brings you to a flight of steel stairs giving you access to the beach where when the tide goes out you can take a pleasant stroll along the sand into New Quay harbour and town. We are both well into our 70’s and had no problems with access to any of these areas. Hoping to visit you again later in the year until then a massive thank you to our hosts.
