“On the surface the appartment was clean, but needs a deep clean.”

When the sun came out there were loads of marks on the windows. The shower could be better and the freezer wasn't working. Lock on bathroom door wasn't working. However, the bed was very comfortable and the location lovely. There were a few things that can easily be remedied. Could do with a small sharp knife for vegetable prep, a bath mat, one pillow cover was missing. One small towel and one teatowel between 4 is not enough, nor is half a toilet roll. Small things but their absence make a holiday less relaxed. The owners were nice and apologetic over the freezer and lock and, overall, we had a nice holiday.

On the positive side, we are glad that you had a nice holiday. However we are sorry that you experienced some issues during your stay particularly the bathroom door lock, which has now been replaced. We noticed that the freezer wasn’t actually plugged into the electricity, and once plugged in it worked ok. Following your comments about the towels, we have amended the welcome message we send each guest on arrival and specifically asked them to get in touch if a bath and hand towel hasn’t been left for each guest. If the cleaners have accidentally not left sufficient linen, they are quite happy to drop them round to the apartment as soon as guests make us aware of it. Property Owner

The property

Positioned just a pebble's throw from the dog-friendly beach, with views across Cardigan Bay, along the west coast of Wales, is Cwtsh Cragen.

Take a boat trip to catch glimpses of the dolphins inhabiting the bay, weather permitting, as birds fly overhead.

This dog-friendly ground-floor apartment is styled with a contemporary feel throughout, ideal for couples or for a family of four, plus their two canine companions, looking to escape everyday life and indulge a relaxing seaside escape.

Step straight into the well-equipped kitchen/diner, which boasts a wonderful outlook from the front window to the blue horizon beyond.

There is a nicely appointed kitchen with all the appliances you could need to whip up delicious meals for your loved ones, ready to enjoy over a celebratory bottle of fizz.

Next, the lounge offers a relaxing space to curl up in front of the TV before retiring to the bright double bedroom, displaying a coastal theme, or a charming twin bedroom, both of which offer plenty of storage for your belongings.

The bathroom plays host to a bath with shower over, with a slate grey, tiled finish, perfect for relaxing soaks or freshening up after hiking along the Ceredigion Coastal Path.

Outside you have your very own allocated parking space and a shared, open lawn area at the front overlooking the water.

Stroll to the beach along the path leading from the cottage and bask on golden sands with a cool sea breeze.

Tide dependent, you can walk right into the town from the beach to find a variety of shops, tea rooms and pubs serving delicious food and drinks.

Don't forget to take your camera for the perfect snapshot of some rare wildlife.

You can try many water sports in season and there are plenty of walking and cycling routes in the area.

Aberaeron is a thriving harbour town close by, with more amenities and scenery to explore and Devil's Bridge Falls, a renowned attraction in Mid-Wales.

Make the most of the relaxing atmosphere, beautiful beaches and nature trails and secure your stay at Cwtsh Cragen.

This delightful seaside town is one of the most popular holiday resorts all year round, and it is easy to see why when you stroll along the sea edge and enjoy the beautiful views. The lovely range of gift shops, tea rooms, restaurants and pubs offer all you need, while boat trips are a wonderful opportunity to spot the playful dolphins, seals and other rare animals and birds that inhabit the bay's sheltering waters. For the hands-on members of your party why not try sailing, kayaking, windsurfing, and power boating with expert tuition available? The famous poet, Dylan Thomas, penned many works with inspiration in New Quay including "Quite Early One Morning" and you can follow the Dylan Thomas trail around the town. Just 7 miles away is Aberaeron, a lively Georgian harbour town with multi-coloured cottages and a good selection of restaurants and inns. This wonderful area of Wales not only has stunning sandy beaches, but also beautiful countryside walks and the outstanding Devil's Bridge is world-renowned for the three bridges, the narrow gauge steam railway and the cascading waterfalls.
