“We had the most wonderful stay at this beautiful Welsh cottage!”

From the moment we arrived, we felt completely at home. The cottage is spotless, tastefully decorated, and filled with thoughtful touches — from the soft blankets by the fire to the welcome basket with treats. The setting is absolutely stunning: rolling green hills, birdsong in the morning, and a sky full of stars at night. It’s the ideal spot to unwind and reconnect with nature. Thank you so much for your beautiful review — it honestly means the world to me. I’m truly delighted to hear you felt so at home from the moment you arrived. I put a lot of care into the little touches around the cottage, so knowing they made your stay extra special really does make my day. I’m so glad you enjoyed the peaceful surroundings, the walks, the starry nights, and those cosy evenings by the log burner and hot tub. Hearing that the cottage gave you the chance to properly unwind and reconnect with nature is exactly what I hope guests will experience. Your kind words about my help and hospitality were especially lovely to read — thank you. It was a pleasure having you stay, and I’d be genuinely thrilled to welcome you back anytime. Thanks Huw Property Owner

The property

Llanrhaeadr-Ym-Mochnant 1.8 miles.

Y Stabl (The Stable) is an elegantly restored converted stable, positioned amid peaceful open countryside on the outskirts of Llanrhaeadr‑Ym‑Mochnant.

The property is well suited to family get‑togethers or laid‑back breaks exploring the Tanat Valley with friends, offering partial ground‑floor living, a welcoming woodburning stove and a gently bubbling hot tub.

Part of the Castellmoch Collection, Y Stabl sits within a small cluster of carefully converted buildings, yet retains a calm sense of seclusion and individuality.

Step inside and move through spaces shaped by exposed stone walls, brick accents and original beams, leading into the open‑plan living area where everyone naturally gravitates.

Evenings unfold with guests relaxing on the sofas as the stove flickers within its brick‑framed fireplace, plates spread across the dining table close by and music playing softly through the Smart TV as conversations stretch into the night.

The kitchen sits just off the main space, pairing clean‑lined fittings with a brick feature wall, exposed timbers and tiled flooring, while the breakfast bar becomes a natural spot for coffee, light lunches or plotting the day ahead.

Elsewhere, a separate sitting area with a corner sofa sits beneath a Velux window, offering a quiet pause for reading, daydreaming or simply watching the sky drift by.

Two king‑size bedrooms are found on the ground floor, each with wooden flooring and adaptable zip‑and‑link beds, allowing guests to settle in comfortably.

Both are served by their own en‑suite shower rooms, ideal after long walks across the surrounding countryside.

Upstairs, the remaining bedrooms are carpeted and bright, one framed by two Velux windows that draw the gaze from open skies across distant hills, while another features a Juliet balcony for stepping out into the fresh air before turning in.

A further en‑suite bathroom and shower room help mornings run smoothly, even when shared between friends or family.

Outside, the garden invites lingering moments, from gathering around the picnic bench and warming the barbecue to easing into the hot tub as evening light fades and stars begin to emerge.

With room to relax, reconnect and return to time and again, Y Stabl (The Stable) makes an inviting base for experiencing this serene part of Wales.
