    “We booked this accommodation for a family reunion over the Easter break.”

    While we felt it was quite expensive, we decided to treat ourselves, which naturally meant our expectations were high. We had stayed somewhere similar in 2025 for around half the price, so inevitably we were comparing the two. Our first impressions were very positive. The house itself is lovely, the hot tub was excellent, and the views were beautiful.     While we felt it was quite expensive, we decided to treat ourselves, which naturally meant our expectations were high. We had stayed somewhere similar in 2025 for around half the price, so inevitably we were comparing the two. Our first impressions were very positive. The house itself is lovely, the hot tub was excellent, and the views were beautiful. It’s also ideally located close to town, making it convenient to pop to the supermarket for anything we’d forgotten. However, there were a few aspects that disappointed us. The grass was quite long on arrival, which was a shame, particularly given the nice weather forecast. There were also some essential items missing — no disinfectant spray, meaning the kitchen could only be cleaned with a washing-up sponge, and no bin bags, which made tidying up difficult. These are small but essential items, and it was disappointing that they weren’t provided. A travel cot was supplied, which we appreciated, but I would say it’s only suitable for a baby under one year old. Our one-year-old had outgrown it and didn’t sleep particularly well as a result. I was also expecting to find a welcome booklet but couldn’t see one, so we weren’t sure what was expected on departure, such as whether bedding needed to be stripped. With a few small improvements, this could be a lovely place to stay. However, I don’t feel it offered value for the price we paid. We looked at booking again next year, but over £1,000 for three days feels extremely steep for what is provided. Also, when contacting the owners prior to arrival, I found their responses by abrupt.

Llandrindod Wells is a lighthearted, friendly town situated in the county of Powys, within the historic boundaries of Radnorshire, Wales. There are some notable landmarks within the town, including architectural buildings in ornate styles dating from the Victorian and Edwardian eras. Llandrindod Wells Victorian Festival, known locally as 'Victorian Week', takes place at the end of August, bringing many tourists to the lively town. Some people like to go-all-out and look the part in Victorian, Edwardian or other antique costumes, and many of the high-street shops dress their windows, in spirit of the event. There is a wide range of entertainment available in the town each year; hosted at The Albert Hall Theatre, Pavilion Mid Wales, which brings Live Music, Comedy and Theatre and Radnor Fringe Festival which is held within the Rock Park. The lake in Llandrindod Wells is part of the town's Victorian history and still remains a popular attraction today, it is a lovely location to bring a picnic with the family. For all you bowling enthusiasts there is The Radnor Indoor Bowls Centre along with the Outdoor Bowling Club for an afternoon of local sports. If you fancy exploring some of the history around the town there is The Radnorshire Museum, The Rock Park & Heritage Centre and The National Cycle Museum, all for your discovery.
