It's getting on for 1000 foot up here and the views are exceptional.

We counted the Breiddens, Long Mountain, Stiperstones, Long Mynd, Bromlow Callow, Corndon Hill, Roundton Fort, the Llan. Stunning (especially as no light pollution here), & you can get in the hot tub to view it all. Loved the owners (locals), it's on their sheep (& a bit of cattle) farm. Property perfect and very comfortable for us. Plenty to see locally and afar. However I'm not going to tell you this as we want to book again ....

What a view. Fantastic location for a relaxing getaway. WiFi signal much better than expected. Great hot tub and everything spotlessly clean. Everything we could possibly need was provided and a lovely welcome pack too. Lovely hosts made us very welcome - we'll be back.

We loved our holiday at Waggoners Cottage, such a stunning location, with lots to do within an hours drive.

Mrs Tildsley was friendly and welcoming, if you break or damage anything during your stay, then PLEASE let her know, so she can sort it out! Sitting in the hot tub overlooking the gorgeous views, with swallows and red kites flying overhead is so relaxing. And knowing that the hot tub is emptied, cleaned and refilled for each set of guests is a definite plus, as not all cottage owners do this (as we discovered at a holiday cottage last year.) The welcome pack was much appreciated too. One note regarding the flies, which yes, there are lots of. However, by keeping the windows closed and putting up some fly traps, we managed to eliminate them. They certainly didn't spoil our holiday. Also, the farm collie dogs are gorgeous and very friendly, but for those who don't like dogs, this may not be the best cottage (didn't bother us, we loved them, but just a warning for non dog lovers). Overall a fabulously relaxing place to stay.

We just returned from a wonderful stay at Waggoner's cottage.

The cottage was beautifully furnished and made even better by the stunning views, which the pictures here do not do justice to. Our kids loved being right next to the cow field, which was a lovely surprise for them. The hot tub was a real treat, spotlessly clean and very well maintained. It’s clear the owners take great care in keeping everything comfortable and hygienic for their guests. It was lovely meeting Jennifer, and we hope to return again soon!

Everything to hand . A lovely stay. Our only one negative comment is in regard to the toilets. The toilets take a very, very long time to refill after flushing which can be difficult

This was our 5th stay here.

The view is spectacular and Jenny is lovely and friendly. Would recommend this cottage . Sitting in the hot tub looking at nothing but fields with young animals (lambs and calves) jumping around was wonderful .

Absolute stunning view, and cottage very clean especially the hot tub that would fit 6 comfortably.

Lots of flies but a working farm and fly trapper provided, fridge and oven door needs to be fixed. A guest book would be great for recommendations etc The owner is lovely nothing too much trouble. Would be great to have additional towels ( would definitely pay extra for these too could be an option) for the hot tub and mop so can keep floors dry. Logs provided for the lovely log burner which was a great touch, kept us, warm and cosy. Had to take showers/ baths at different times as not enough hot water for the 5 of us at once. However a fabulous peaceful stay would definitely recommend.

Mrs Tinsley left eggs milk jams and some Welsh cakes. The cottage itself is beautiful. We would definitely stay again.

Such an amazing little place on a working farm.

We have now stayed here once or twice a year for the last 5 years. I actually don’t want to give a glowing review because I would like to keep it all to myself. Fantastic cottage with the most amazing views along with all the home comforts and a lovely hot tub to sit out and soak up all up. Beautifully clean and comfortable with lots of little lovely touches. It is on a working farm which we enjoy all the animals and walks in the countryside. Can’t recommend it enough .

We had a wonderful stay, the cottage was the perfect place for our family of 5 to meet up and have a relaxing few days, everything was perfect.

A wonderful personal greeting from the owner who talked us through everything from the recycling, woodburner, use of hot tub and central heating. A beautiful location, comfortable cottage with everything we needed for a great stay. The hot tub was a massive bonus and we used it often. Thank yuo for a super stay, we shall return!

The cottage was absolutely lovely.

Very clean and tidy. On arrival. The hot tub was a lovely touch to the property as the view is splendid day and night. Overall, if you’re looking for a nice peaceful few days away, this is a lovely property and has everything you need to make you feel at home. I do have to mention one thing and that is the photos which are displayed is showing the property on the website does not do justice as the property is furnished lovely.

Cottage was beautiful, surroundings were amazing and place was very clean.

Very much enjoyed our stay. Only small thing is to remember to bring toilet roll, only 2 rolls was left for 5 people for the 3 days. Welsh cakes and eggs was a nice touch. Owner was lovely and very welcoming

Waggoners Cottage was lovely just as per the web site, the owner Jennifer met us upon arrival, and showed us around the cottage.

The cottage was spotlessly clean and well maintained. Absolutely stunning views from the patio, we had daily visits from Jennifer the check the Hot Tube and have a chat about the farm activities.

We were greeted by Ivy/Vera and she was friendly and gave us a thorough tour of the cottage and showed us how to use the hot tub etc.

There appeared to be lots of rules around the hot tub, including only using it for half an hour at a time. We were asked to sign a contract agreeing to this also prior to using the hot tub . The positives are as follows: Fantastic views and the cottage is well located centrally to access most of Wales easily. Lots of wildlife - birds etc in the garden (as well as the sound of sheep and cows which added to the experience). Bed was comfortable. Cottage was well furnished - TV, kitchen and utensils, washing machine etc Negatives: The driveway was hazardous for us as it was all gravel (not good for motorbikes as we all nearly came off on several occasions - sliding about on it). As mentioned above - the hot tub and the rules. The shower was quite dated and not powerful although did the job. The upstairs bathroom had no lock on it. This is a simple job and I would have expected it to have been done to avoid any embarrassment when someone is using the bathroom - and someone else walks in accidentally. The owners had some farm dogs (Collies) and although they were very friendly, we noticed that they used our garden as a toilet (and on one occasion we almost stepped in some poo)!

The host was very friendly and welcoming, the cottage was lovely and had everything that we needed for our stay with amazing views.

It's a great location for exploring the area and it was bonus to hop into the hot tub after a day of sight seeing. Would definitely come back again :)

We having been staying at Waggoners Cottage for many years and it never fails to disappoint. Very comfortable cottage with amazing views. The addition of the hot tub is the icing on the cake. The owners are so friendly and nothing is too much trouble. We will continue to return!

I have visited this cottage several times over the years.

I have always been impressed how clean and tidy it is and how good the facilities are. The views from the cottage are outstanding and to sit in the hot tub looking out over the hills is great. The owner is very helful and friendly and checks regularly to make sure all is OK. Finally the area us very good for walking ,Shopping and visiting historic places of interest.

The welcome pack was minimal and no milk, no cleaning clothes to use, we had to buy some.

The log fire smoked so much we had to open all the windows and doors, needless to say we did not use again. The location was beautiful though and serenely peaceful, sheep and cows and lovely bird life. The hot tub was well looked after and it was lovely to sit back and enjoy the views of Wales.

Amazing views,no noise to be heard peaceful relaxing great hot tub,lovely owners, kids enjoyed playing with the owners dogs,very secluded just what we wanted,clean cottage a few flies about but only opened windows in the morning and evening and had fan on during the day so only a few flies but it is a working farm so to be expected, powis castle and gardens was a lovely day out.

We arrived at around 6pm Monday night and were greeted by the owner who seemed great.

We spoke and she almost immediately mentioned about flies and said to keep the windows closed. We understood that there might be a couple of flies as it was by a field, but we were a bit concerned about leaving the windows closed on the hottest day on record. Anyway we left the windows closed and had fans blowing hot air all night so we all sweated buckets and hardly slept. The next morning we went down stairs to a mass of flies. Anytime you opened the doors the flies would creep in. We told the owner who tried to hoover them up, but she ultimately blamed it on the weather, which we thought was untrue as there was fly buckets around the property, fly zappers, fly strips and also fly spray that she told us to spray around the property even though we had small children (we didn't want them breathing in the fumes)We were told to open all the windows and put the fans on downstairs to get rid of the flies, this inturn caused more flies to come in, they were evetywhere, in the cupboards in the fridge and on any crumbs of food that were left behind. We decided to leave after the first night as we just couldn't relax. There is clearly a fly issue in the property, if we would of know before we would not of booked. If you have to have fly zappers, fly strips, fly sprays ect in a property then there is a fly issue in there. We received a 1/3 of our money back which she thought was fair, how can that be fair when we have lost money and a holiday due to no fault of our own. We have 4 small children and can't afford to book another holiday. The owner is unfair and clearly only cares about the payment you make. This place is FLY INFESTED. Also had to pick up dog poo that had been there a while as it was white.

Beautiful cottage situated in some of the most beautiful countryside.

..none of the pictures can do it justice! . Had everything you could need in the cottage and the hot tub was lush!. Everyone was so friendly and welcoming..cannot recommend highly enough

This was a second visit for us after staying in 2021.

The cottage has spectacular views and is set in a calm and peaceful location but is in easy reach of Newtown and Welshpool with the coast being around an hours car journey away.The only noises likely to be heard are the baaing of the sheep and the mooing of the cows along with birdsong..This is so lovely to listen to. Sunsets and sunrises are beautiful. The cottage was spotlessly clean and has benefitted from new comfortable lounge furniture and a new dining table. Their is a dishwasher and a washing machine although it may benefit from a dryer which would be useful if weather is inclement and the outside line is not able to be used. There is however a drying rack provided and clothes will dry on this in the lobby . The cottage is equipped with plenty of utensils, cups and even plastic glasses if needed whilst sitting outside . Hand and bath towels are provided and there was liquid hand soap in both bathrooms.The hot tub is an added benefit with lovely views to be seen whilst relaxing in it. The owner , Jen is extremely helpful and friendly with nothing being too much trouble. The lettuce and radishes she gave us from her garden were delicious . We also met her husband and daughter who were also very friendly .We benefited this week by having lovely weather and we were able to sit in the garden enjoying the scenery frequently. We will definitely be returning again and are so pleased we found this gem of a holiday cottage. We would highly recommend.

Views are sensational from the cottage looking over the beautiful hills of wales (and also from the hot tub which was also amazing) The owner lives just across the way from the cottage but gave us full privacy and mrs Tilsley was absolutely lovely. The most beautiful views, perfect location for a relaxing getaway.

We had everything we needed and felt like home almost straight away. Mrs Tisley was the most perfect host and made us feel so welcome and we didn’t want to leave. Such a lovely place to stay and will home to return! Recommend the canal walk to the Nags Head for Sunday roast dinner.

We had a lovely weekend away, the Cottage is well equipped and comfortable.

It is very clean and mostly modern, the bathroom and shower room are tired and and there was only small towels (not bath towels) to use. We had everything to make a fire left for us on the first night but no matches or fire lighters to light it. We enjoyed it the next day when we bought some. The fridge wasn't turned on which took us a while to realise. No big deal but our food wasn't straight into a cold fridge. Aside of those little things, the hot tub and the views were fantastic, there are walks straight from the door on the farmland ( we didnt get to go as it was the weekend Eunice and Franklin arrived which made it very windy and wet) but we didn't go for the weather and the cottage gave us an enjoyable family weekend away. The Nags head 1 mile away provided us with a fantastic lunch too. Thank you

! The owner Mrs Tilsley is very welcoming and a lovely lady who made sure everything was perfect for us. The kitchen it fully equipped with all you need, even down to baking equipment!! The hot tub was unreal too with the most scenic views to sit in front of! I will most definitely be returning! Xx

The cottage and hot tub were both clean and the host was close by so if any issues arose we were able to speak with her immediately, for example we had a small issue with wasps in the upstairs bathroom that got sorted within a day of two of our stay.

The cottage had ample kitchen supplies and bedding. The farm itself offers great views and walks and is located close to local tourist sights such as Powis castle. It is a nice place for a getaway.

The owners were really lovely. Our cottsge was absolutely fantastic, with stunning views. We had amazing views and with the hot tub too, it was quite perfect. Only thing that let it down for us, due to the hot weather, there was quite a few wasps and flies that got in the cottage, which was annoying. The owners tried to get rid of them, but that was a temporary measure until the cottage was empty for 24 hours . Other than that a perfect place to stay. Just returned from an amazing weeks stay at Waggoners Cottage.

The host Mrs Tilsey was lovely,gave us lots of information about the local area.The cottage was spotless and had the most amazing views with the added bonus of a hot tub which was checked everyday by the owners.If your looking for a beautiful cottage in the hills of the Welsh countryside with cows as your neighbours and and hot tub with a view then this is the place for you ,can not recommend it enough.

This amazing Holiday started off with easy to follow directions and a warm welcome from the lovely host Mrs Tilsley on arrival.

The cottage was perfect, exactly as described! Every comfort catered for. Fabulous well arranged kitchen, all the gadgets you could need were there. Externally the views of the countryside and the farm took our breath away. We 100% enjoyed a fortnight of comfort and perfect peace. The private hot tub was checked daily by Mrs Tillsley which we found most reassuring. We loved watching and learning from our friendly hosts about farming, their animals and the wildlife. We will absolutely stay here again, one of the best Cottages’s by far for a warm welcome, excellent standard of facilities, stunning location and absolutely loads of places to visit as well as a great restaurant close by. Sunday lunch at the Nags head was delicious! This holiday was exactly what we had hoped for and so much more, we were truly sorry to leave.

All COVID cleaning procedures are adhered to. All amenities available within cottage. Cottage situated next to a working farm, the owners are very helpful and friendly. A good launch point for days out either via car or walking. The hot tub is very clean and a good experience.

Waggoners cottage is in a beautiful position on a working farm with wonderful far reaching views to the rolling hills of Wales.

All facilities were top knotch and the hot tub wonderfully relaxing after a busy day sightseeing. Mrs Tilsley is a lovely friendly host with lots of suggestions of places to visit and helpful if we needed any help with anything. We would love to visit again sometime.

Greeted on arrival by one of the owners we were made to feel very welcome and the cottage and hot tub have the most amazing views. I have already recommended Waggoners Cottage and sent details to friends and we only got back yesterday!!

The scenery and the silence was outstanding.

Saw the milky way whilst soaking in the hot tub such clear skies. Awoke to pheasants in the garden and young cows in the field next to the cottage, beautiful. Mrs Tilsley was a lovely lady and couldn't have made us feel more welcome. The cottage was immaculate and everything there that you could possibly ever need. Simply put... Perfection.

This was such an amazing place to stay, and would definitely recommend it to everyone.

Me and my mates can't wait to go back. Its on a lovely farm run by some lovely people. You wake up to some amazing views and the sound of animals. It is truly beautiful.

The view.

... Wow.... Day after day I was transfixed with this view, I want to live here. The cottage is great and the master bed is very comfy. The hot tub is superb and has that view. The farm is lovely and is about a mile from the road, so it is very quiet. The owner is truly lovely and their farm dogs are a delight. The cottage is situated between 2 towns which both have large chain supermarkets and there is a National Trust house minutes away. We had been due to go to spain for our break but 2020 happened so we booked here. We couldn't have asked for a more beautiful, chilled out place, we were not disappointed.

Everything was as described.

The owner(Jen) was there to meet us and explain everything including the procedures they had put in place in respect of COVID. The property is lovely and ideal to use as a base for exploring this beautiful part of the country. The cottage has everything you could wish for and was perfect for us. Thanks to all concerned.

The cottage was lovely and the surrounding views were beautiful. Mrs Tilsey was a lovely host and made us welcome the Welsh people were so friendly to us and enjoyed the food at the Dragon hotel at Montgomery and the Nags Head. Lovely holiday.

My friends and I just came home from a fabulous weekend celebrating a 30th birthday.

It was a last minute booking due to a late cancellation with another company but everything was smooth and stress free. The facilities were perfect for a cosy weekend in, the views were fabulous and the family who run the cottage are super friendly and helpful. Would definitely recommend for a weekend away

this is a wonderful cottage in lovely surroundings.

the owners were very friendly and couldn’t do enough for us, even allowed us to wonder around and see the animals. lots of wild life to be seen and the near by Nags Head served us a lovely lunch. the cottage was clean and well equipped and the hot tub was spotless. I came for a weekend with my friends and it was a fab way to enjoy some girly chat x I can’t wait to go back x

The views were incredible! It was lovely and cosy ! And lovely pubs within short distance! Hosts were lovely and accommodating!

A couple of things need mentioning: on arrival in dark the signage is wrong as still have on a property they no longer own so you don’t actually know where their property is as no instructions given on email etc .

freezer not turned on when we arrived so couldn’t use it straightaway and hoped that it would reach correct temp overnight in order to put our groceries in next morning after food shop. Instructions say should be put on 24hrs before use.Hot tub didn’t maintain heat it should have. In children’s garden/play area on property several areas with dog poo from their dog. No visitors book with comments in or to write own. Though the property was clean , comfortable etc lovely location, there was something lacking from owners , when we mentioned some of the above they were quite dismissive “ oh we don’t put freezer on as some guests don’t use it, when you take lid off hot tub obviously the temperature will go down(we’ve never had this problem before), signage on old property:” oh yes we’ve been meaning to put an arrow to tell you carry straight on ,a few people have said same but we’ve just not got round to it” we felt there was no point mentioning the dog poo!

The location of the cottage was outstanding with some of the nicest views.

The owners were very hospitable and friendly, checkjng ro make sure that everything was ok with our stay. The cottage itself was small but ideal for what we needed and had all the amenities that we required.

just to say there is also a games room with pool table, table football and table tennis free to use, the cottage is fantastic and so quiet but has the convenience of welshpool town only 15 mins drive to morrisons all in all a great place to stay with brilliant local pubs I will definitely be going back again''

Photographs don’t do this property justice! Lovely atmosphere being on a farm with lambs outside our window in the morning. Lovely and relaxing in the hot tub with the views. Lovely little games shed and a little playground for the children. The only comment that I would make is as it is a working farm ask for fly spray as a lot of flies get in the property! I would love to stay here again!

My partner and I had a fantastic week here, the hosts were brilliant and so lovely and definitely went out of their way to make sure we had a great stay. The only thing I had an issue with was the hardness of the pillows and because I suffer from chronic pain it caused me an issue but it was easily resolved. The weather while we were here topped off an absolutely amazing holiday. We would definitely stay here again in a heart beat.
