“We spent a week here to celebrate our 10 year wedding anniversary.”

We were completely blown away by the hospitality shown by Julie and Laurence. There were 2 welcome baskets on arrival, filled with wine, biscuits, crackers, jams and chutney. The other basket contained dog toys etc. The fridge was stocked with milk, cheese and ham. The hosts brought round freshly made bread and slices of homemade chocolate cake. There were also tea, herbal teas which I’m now a huge fan, coffee, sugar, cleaning products. There’s not much you need to bring from home. The ...

The hosts have thought of everything to make your stay comfortable. The Kites nest is beautiful and the views are breathtaking. The outside bath has hot water and not overlooked, it was so relaxing lying in a hot bubble bath looking out over the spectacular views with a glass of wine in the early evening. (It really is a little slice of paradise). Devils bridge is only a few miles away and there are lots of great walks around the Hafod Estate. We took our dogs and they loved it. A word of caution though when taking your dog to the forestry. Check them for ticks after every walk and take a tick removing tool with you. A big heartfelt thank you to Julie and Laurence for making this one of the best holidays we have been on xx

Hello both Wow! What a lovely review.... We're so glad you enjoyed the stay and had such brilliant weather too. it means a lot to us when people so clearly enjoy the same things as we do about this part of the country. You're right about the sheep ticks and well be putting a removal kit in the cabin for future guests (well, for their dogs). Please give Chester a bouncy pat and Molly a gentle squeeze from us. It was lovely to meet you. Laurence & Julie Property Owner

About the location

PONTRHYDFENDIGAID

Tregaron 5.5 miles; Devil’s Bridge 9 miles; Aberystwyth 16 miles.

Pontrhydfendigaid is a small village in Mid Wales between Devil’s Bridge and Tregaron. The village lies on the edge of the Cambrian Mountains in beautiful countryside. It sits on the River Teifi and his home to a local shop and two nearby pubs, The Teifi Inn and The Hafod Hotel. Devil's Bridge has been a tourist attraction for centuries and was celebrated by author George Borrow who wrote Wild Wales in 1854. This famous bridge spans the Mynach, a tributary of the River Rheidol and is unique as it is actually three bridges in one, the original built around 1100, the second above this in 1753 and the third in 1903. The bridge is at a point where the River Mynach drops 90 metres (300 ft) in 5 steps down a steep and narrow ravine before it meets the River Rheidol. The set of stone steps leading down to the lowest bridge at the waterfall are known as Jacob's Ladder. The attraction offers viewing points and after the steep walk there is a hotel and cafe for refreshments. This whole area boasts stunning scenery and wildlife and is renowned for walking, cycling, fishing and bird watching as well as trips to the beautiful Cardigan Bay coastline with its wild cliffs and sandy beaches.
