A lovely property ideally situated near the town but in the garden it feels as though you’re miles from anywhere!

Clean comfortable accommodation with comfy beds and good showers. Kitchen well equipped with good freezer in garage. We loved the conservatory and could imagine it being cosy in the winter however we experienced a heatwave but the bungalow was gloriously cool. Hope to return next year!

The property was well located in Rhayader and an ideal base to enjoy the area.

The countryside was easily found within short distances and well worth the visits. Depending on your requirement of attractions, there were many different options within 50 miles. Consequently the property provided everything you needed and Rhayader was well blessed with local shops, cafes and pubs. A serious contender for further stays.

Photographs can be so deceptive and when we rolled up to the property, I thought it was a mistake as the property looked a bit dishevelled however when we got inside, everything was immaculate.

Because of the weather, I didn't explore the garden which looked superb. Lots of birds were spotted, some we have never seen before. The facilities were great and the bed was the best sleep in a holiday let I have ever had. The walk into the village was short and enjoyable and the places of interests were great to vist, especially the Kite Centre.

Trederwen is one of the best properties we have had the pleasure to stay in.

We stayed over Christmas and on arrival walked into a toastie warm house with all the Christmas lights on and a very generous hamper. There was milk in the fridge and logs for the fire. There is everything you could think of in the kitchen and in the lounge, books, dvd’s, information leaflets about walks and places of interest. The house is spacious and comfortable and it was spotless! There is an amazing garden which the dogs had great fun exploring. Mike and Sue were wonderful hosts who have guaranteed an amazing home from home for any guest.

ideal position. beautiful garden. very spacious and really comfortable. we wanted for nothing. one small detail. steps leading to garden were very slippery with moss engrained. a little bleach would help. did not prevent us from a great holiday.

Great location, central enough to walk into Rhayadar, and as a base to visit everything else nearby.

The bungalow is clean, comfortable beds, everything you need, and a 2nd living room, with a log fire, and central heating throughout. We've been back to Trederwen over 5 years and enjoy it everything. Great garden for dogs, plenty of space.

The worst holiday accommodation I have every stayed in.

A throw back from the 1960s second hand furniture showroom. The rear cushion on the sofa stunk of BO. I turned the quilt back on the bed and a fly / flea flew out. The beds were uncomfortable. The light was so dim in the bathroom it was impossible to see the mirror. The bedding felt damp. The furniture was uncomfortable. It was so bad that we went home on the Tuesday.

We had a wondeful holiday in Rhayader at Trederwen.

IT was like a "home from home" for us. Everything we needed was there. The garden was very nice and perfect for our dogs to enjoy. Everything was clean and comfortable. The location is excellent and the town is a perfect base for exploring Wales. The kids also really enjoyed the close proximity ot he leisure centre where they enjoyed the swimming pool

Trederwen is a lovely bungalow.

Clean, comfortable and excellently situated. Beds extremely comfortable. Rhayader has everything you need within 2 minutes walk. Mike is accommodating and really prompt to assist. Would recommend this property without hesitation.

Dad and I stayed here for a week with our 2 little dogs.

It's a lovely, clean, warm and comfortable property and the garden is fabulous, the dogs loved it so did we. Fantastic base to explore the local area, we will definitely be back.

Lovely property.

Lots of space. Nice and warm. Unfortunately the drains in the main bathroom smelt terrible, which was a shame, because that bathroom has by far the best shower of the two. It was great that there were so many dvds to choose from, but sadly the dvd player can only be used in the garden room, which means lighting the log fire. The TV in the lounge was amazing, but having a dvd player in the lounge too would have been even better. The welcome basket of goodies was a lovely, unexpected surprise, and very much appreciated. We had a lovely, restful holiday, doing not very much at all

A wonderfully warm and cosy home with lots of space and everything we needed plus more.

The garden is huge and lovely to go in to watch all the birds. Lots of red kites to spot because the feeding station is 5 minutes up the road. The bungalow is in the perfect location, right by the shops and lovely walks, but up a drive so blissfully quiet. We had a lovely hamper left for us, which was such a nice surprise, and some tea/coffee/sugar in the cannisters and fresh milk in the fridge. Very thoughtful and appreciated. We fell in love with Rhayader, it's lovely community , shops and central location to so many beautiful nature reserves to walk around. We highly recommend Trederwen, the nicest place we've stayed at. We will definitely be returning.

This property is spacious and lovely.

Our dogs enjoyed the garden and the garden room. It's so peaceful in Rhayader, we have stayed here about 4 times now and love it. To get into the property is quote a step up for those with mobility issues, but Mike has thought of everything, there is a sturdy ramp in the garage. This is a lovely holiday home at any time of the year.

The property was immaculate.

Everything we needed was on hand. It's our second visit, last time was May 2023 and we used the garden much more than this time. Especially like the size of property, good for 2 couples to have their own space.

Great location for local shops and pubs which are mostly dog friendly too. The welcome pack was very thoughtful. We will definitely be returning next year.

Amazing property in an amazing location!

Very clean and comfortable with 2 lovely sofas, really well equipped kitchen and large garden which was completely secure for our elderly dog. The property is just behind the leisure centre and shops but was so quiet we could have been in the wilds. The town was bustling! So many pubs and handy shops, and walks without needing the car, but also beautiful countryside. We'd love to stay again, the only downside was that our dog didn't get on with the floors.

A fabulous location a couple of minutes walk from Rhayader town and within an easy drive from beautiful countryside.

A fabulous welcome pack was provided. Although largely very clean, some areas were missed such as the very dusty skirting board under the kitchen radiator. There are woodlice getting in somewhere and we evicted half a dozen during the week from the main bedroom, corridor and bathroom. Overall though, it was a lovely place to stay and communication with the owner was very good.

We enjoyed our stay very much.

The mature gardens are beautiful all round. The bungalow is spacious and well equipped with lovely interior/furniture. The location is perfect with fabulous riverside walks in the town and close to access the Elan Valley and very helpful visitor centre. There are plenty of nice places to eat and drink on the doorstep as well. Met Mike who is a very friendly and helpful host and some nice friendly people out and about. Our 14 year old terrier Millie loved the gardens and getting about also.

I spent the week at Trederwen with my son,daughter and Davy the dog.

It felt very welcoming as soon as we entered,and it did not take long to feel at home.The property was clean,comfortable,spacious with a lovely decour.I am an 80 year old man and being close to the high street was ideal,2 minuets to chip shop,plenty of places to eat and drink.The garden is well maintained and secure.We would like to return as there are lots of places left to explore.Elan Valley worth a visit.

ziggy the dog loved the garden. only a short walk to 2 very good pubs. one slight problem for me being 82 years of age with walking problems was the height of the step at the front door

A wonderful welcome pack of food and wine was there to greet us upon arrival . A quiet location but only 3 or 4 minute walk to the centre of town .

Just returned from a lovely holiday at this bungalow.

The place was clean,very comfortable and well equipped had everything we needed. The garden was beautiful and the bungalow was within easy walking distance to Rhayder. The bus stop was just across the road and we used it to visit Aberystwyth the drive was spectacular . There was so much to see and do in the area, Elan valley was certainly worth a visit, LLandrindod Wells Lake was lovely ( large Tesco Store there) all within easy driving distance of the bungalow. We enjoyed it so much have already booked our return for next year !.

Beds are good. Location is great. Garden is wonderful.

Excellent bungalow in a great position.

The garden looked lovely, unfortunately it was too cold and wet to enjoy it. Bedrooms overlooked the garden and the beds were very comfortable. There was a good fire in the conservatory that provided more than adequate heating. Good walking around the Elan valley reservoirs which were a short drive away, with plenty of parking.

What a beautiful property.

The welcome hamper was lovely and totally unexpected. The bungalow was warm and very comfortable. The garden is also a lovely space, we were lucky enough to sit outside one afternoon in the sun and it is a sun trap. The only issue we had was that our little dog could escape through the hedge into the lane. The owner has done his best to make it secure but not for our Jack Russell’s who caught the smell of something and were off. Can’t wait to go back in October. Local amenities are great and some nice walks.

We had a lovely stay at Trederwen.

Very comfortable and the Christmas decorations (including a lovely decorated tree) was an unexpected bonus. One of my sisters has mobility issues and, whilst she did manage to shower, I felt that, given there are two shower/bathrooms in the property, one of them could have been more disability friendly. Might be a good marketing point going forward. However, would certainly recommend. Great.

Big 3-bedroom bungalow with a huge garden right next to the town centre, close to pubs, bars, restaurants, and shopping facilities.

Mike was very thoughtful, and the welcome basket was a big surprise for us but very needed after a four-hour drive in crazily heavy wind. There was an instruction book, with lots of useful information (such as an introduction to the restaurants and bars, medical facilities etc) and they even included information related to dog-friendly locations and the local vet. The only two issues we had were (1) the wooden floor being too slippery for our old dog and (2) the bedsheet was not breathable enough for my partner (there seemed to be a plastic cover, which made him sweat a lot over the night). But I am sure they won't be a problem for most of the people. We had a nice stay there.

This property is everything it says.

Great layout, both inside and out. A surprise hamper finished off the very warm welcome. You will not be disappointed if you choose this place.

What a lovely place and excellent property, couldn’t want for anything more. Great facilities, Pubs and food within 2 minutes walk. Excellent amount of space for 4 of us in the house and the garden for the dog. Will try and get back in the summer to make proper use of the garden and Kite watching.

This was our fifth stay at Trederwen.

To us it feels like coming home. It is always spotlessly clean and we always find something new has been added. The welcome basket is always a pleasant treat. There is always a good supply of cleaning products and soaps and toilet rolls etc. Beds are comfy and bedding immaculate. The garden is second to none. Well looked after and a pleasure to walk in. The bungalow itself is in a very good position because although the surrounding area is reasonably quiet it is around the corner from the varied shops and just a few doors down from the leisure centre. There are many places to visit within a short drive and for those that like to walk there are some beautiful scenic and riverside walks around. The people are all very friendly. Needless to say, we will be booking again next year.

We have stayed at Trederwen several times and keep returning because the cottage is large, comfortable and clean.

The kitchen is well equipped and all the appliances work well. The bedrooms are spacious, clean and very comfortable. The garden is large with a patio table, chairs and parasol perfect for a coffee in the sun. Mike and Sue are quick to react if there's a problem ensuring that your holiday is enjoyable.

This is a really nice holiday bungalow, very tidy with everything that we needed for the week.

The bungalow and the garden are amazing. A good location for travelling to most places in Wales. We travelled North, West and South. We are planning on using this holiday accommodation again. Good communication from both Sykes and the owner before and after our holiday.

Think that says it all about the lovely bungalow! Everything about it A1. We love staying there & so does Toby our dog. Also,people in Rhayader are so polite & friendly. Thanks to Mike Phillips for renting out this lovey bungalow & for the wonderful welcome hamper he always leaves. Wouldn’t want to go anywhere else now. Been spoilt with Trederwen!! We love this property and have booked yet another holiday.

The owner has gone to a lot of trouble to make sure the bungalow meets my needs. Each time we visit he has added something new. This time it was a shower stool and new cushions on the one sofa. It's always spotlessly clean and there's also a great welcome pack. Being walking disabled the property meets all my needs and I couldn't ask for better.

This a lovely spacious 3 bed bungalow with a well equipped kitchen with a nice conservatory/ sun room, large gardens great for our two dogs.

The town of Rhayader is really nice, lots going on a super friendly peope. We've personally had a super relaxed holiday, and will definitely return to this accommodation, and would certainly recommend to others.

Had everything we needed for an enjoyable weeks stay. Comfortable beds and seating. Well equipped kitchen. Powerful showers. Good walks along the river for the dogs. Situated in a pleasant town that had all the facilities we needed. Short drive to wonderful walks and scenery. Would definitely stay again.

Excellent place to relax everything that you need for a Great Holiday.

The garden is an Haven of Peace and Relaxation A great area for walking and we enjoyed Aberystwyth Cliff Railway and Brecon Canal self drive narrowboats. The Elan Valley Dams are Spectacular and Gilfach nature reserve is well worth a visit with walks to suit everyone. The welcome pack was one of the best we have ever had. Thankyou.

We were very pleased with our stay in this property.

The property was clean and well looked after. It was well equipped. The garden is absolutely beautiful and was safe for our dog. We were left a welcome basket which was lovely (Many thanks for this!) We would definitely stay here again when we re-visit Rhayader.

Hi, We had a great holiday the only problem that we had was with the grill pan, I am sure that the handle is the wrong size as its lugs do not match completely with the anchor points of the pan and this gives it a tendency to slip off the pan.

( check fencing if you have very small dogs ) Everything we needed was there for us with a lovely welcome basket. Rhayader is a lovely dog friendly town and a great base to travel on days out. We'll worth a visit.

A comfortable, clean and well presented bungalow.

Well equipped and the bonus welcome basket was a treat. The property is well situated for shops and lovely walks, ideal for dogs. The only thing to mention the front step into the property is a little high for the less able. We remedied this using a small breeze block! I would highly recommend this property.

This was third visit.

It's always spotlessly clean and cosy. Each time we go we look to see what the owner has added since last visit..just little things but there's always something new there. The welcome pack is full of good things to eat and there's always plenty of tea coffee sugar and milk. We didn't use the garden much this time as weather didn't allow so we look forward to coming back next year.

The bungalow is set in an ideal location, close to The Elan Valley, lots of walking routes and easy access to town.

The bungalow was equipped with all the bits needed to make it an easy stay. The one big down side for us was the main shower really has no water pressure so can’t be used, this was hard work with 6 people staying and only one functional shower. The beds in the twin room really do need updating, they were so squeaky that every movement made noise so the children struggled to sleep. If these things could be sorted then we’d definitely stay here again.

Trederwen is located in a good position for access to the town and surrounding area.

We had everything we needed and the welcome pack was a lovely surprise. The only comments we have are: - the lighting in the living was very dim - the shower over the bath has very low pressure - my 93 year old mum found the front step rather high. We did enjoy our stay and thought the garden room and the garden itself were delightful.

After a few harrowing months it was good to get away, the bungalow was perfect and rear garden safe and exciting for our escape artist setter.

Town of Rhayader great . Only negative toilet seat in shower room a bit wobbly . Would fully recommend for anyone wanting a great holiday , we came back completely refreshed. Brian Gallier

Mike has been very helpful each time we stayed.

He has put ramps in place at back n front doors as I had told him I struggled getting in and out. He has put hand grip in shower. The place is always spotlessly clean and the welcome pack most welcome. If I wanted to nit pick it would be about the sofas. They are clean and tidy but you sink into them when you sit down and for someone like me with back and leg problems it's very hard to stand back up again. I propped myself up on pillows. Hoping to go back again soon.

We had a wonderful stay, it was such a well equipped bungalow and the welcome pack was far more than necessary, it was excellent.

And it was in such a brilliant location, close to local amenities as well as places to go and see.

Our second time staying at trederwen, excellent holiday home, so central to Rhayader, which has excellent facilities, nice places to eat and drink, all of excellent value, the holiday home, is very clean on our arrival, comfortable, like home from home, such a beautiful garden, enjoyed feeding the little birds, being in mid wales so central to visit other part’s of wales, we went walking on the Brecon Beacons, visited snowdon, and enjoyed walking in the elan valley, we found the local people very polite and friendly, thank you to the owner mr Philips for a lovely clean accommodation and for the little basket of goodies on our arrival, we do hope to come again from Tina & family.

This is a lovely property and suited our needs very well.

We chose this bungalow because we had our elderly mother with us who is not good with stairs etc. My sister and her small also holidayed with us, so the large enclosed garden was great for us all. The weather was extremely kind to us, with very little rain, so we sat out in the evenings and bbq’d. All in all, a fab holiday was had by all. The owner, Mike Phillips popped in with our fresh towels and bedding on the middle weekend, so it was good to chat and catch-up. There was only one negative point, in that the back shower over the bath is run off the low pressure system, so the flow rate is poor. Fortunately, the front electric shower is fed from the water mains pressure, so we all used that one which is great.

Poor water pressure made filling a bath a long job but power shower in second bathroom good!

Great welcome pack including milk bread, wine, crisps, crackers,cake etc. Lovely place to stay, garden, patio and back room Excellent. We would recommend the accommodation to anyone who wants to get away from the crowds. Kitchen was well stocked with all you should need during your stay. Beds were comfortable and the whole place was spotless. We would like to return at some point in the future.

Welcome hamper generous and useful. Bathroom door (sliding) would not close properly and needs attention. My wife who has mobility problems found the front door step a little high and would have appreciated a second step. Great location with all facilities nearby, locals welcoming and superb countryside all around. Can fully recommend.

Lovely spacious property close to amenities.

The only downside was the shower in the main bathroom was very poor but it was ok as we used the other one. Some of the furniture could also be updated also there was a washing machine and a couple of detergent pods would have been appreciated. Having said that the property was well equipped, warm, comfortable bed, spotlessly clean, the garden was beautiful and a very generous welcome pack left. The area is very beautiful and we thoroughly enjoyed our stay thank you.

It is a warm and comfortable bungalow with excellent facilities and the owners are very welcoming with the lovely hamper. It’s an ideal base to tour both inland and the coast. The local walk from Rhayader to Elan village is a must for dog walkers as well as the riverside walk. Will definitely be returning. Many thanks Lisa and Marcus

This is the second time we have stayed at this cottage.

Great quiet town location close to all amenities and a nice selection of independent shops. It's great not to have to use your car to go shopping etc. The beds are fine. Nice spacious bedrooms. Limited plugs in bedrooms. Sofas ok if a little low. Kitchen well equipped with everything you need. probably the best equipped kitchen we have experienced.Lovely welcome pack. WiFi access good. Lovely shower room but it could do with a little TLC. Unfortunately the rear bathroom virtually unusable at water pressure was so low. A few minor issues to consider that may be important to your stay. The TV needs an upgrade as it is not a smart one and has limited channels. There is no facility to use Netflix or Amazon prime. This may be important during periods of inclement weather. The garden is not small dog safe. Access to the actual house would be difficult for the less mobile as the front step is very high. Also the front door is difficult to close and being a Yale it is easy to lock yourself out! Although the back garden is large and secluded it is beginning to take on a slight air of neglect. Steps are crumbling in places and need repair. I hope this doesn't sound too negative but we are still aiming to return as the cottage is warm and comfortable and is a great centre to explore this part of Wales. We also like being in a town location.

Very clean and warm, with a nice welcome pack.

Super king size bed and sofas very comfortable. The garden room is very pleasant, with a good basket of logs provided. The garden is large and secure. Good kitchen. Additional storage and a freezer in the garage. Good selection of DVDs, books and games, and lots of leaflets advising things to do in area. Large enough for 6 in comfort. The road is quite busy during the day with a lot of lorries, but it is described as a "peaceful lane". Not easy to use a hairdryer (supplied), as no sockets near the mirrors. The eyelet curtains in the bedrooms were not sufficient to keep out the light - and the twin bedroom looks out onto the leisure centre with bright lights until late. Shower in bathroom does not work, as the water pressure is too low. Hot tap in kitchen also has very low pressure. Easy to communicate with host, very quick responses. Good value for money.

A spacious bungalow that comfortably sleeps 6.

Facilities are excellent and the owners very welcoming. Excellent base to tour, both inland and the coast. Rhayader is packed with pubs/restaurants and cafes. The local riverside walk is a must for dog owners. Red kites hover overhead all day! Thoroughly enjoyed and heartily recommend.

Think about number/ capacity of cooking pots, it was difficult to cook for us all , a three pan steamer would help a lot.

Check for damaged crockery we found a cracked dish and damaged teapot. Biggest gripe - Hot water system pressure very poor making use of bath shower impossible - luckily shower room has electric shower..

We were a family of 5 with 2 dogs. Massive garden, all enclosed. Close to town. Loads of walks locally. Just a lovely relaxed holiday in Mid Wales.

Fantastic welcome pack. Kitchen has everything we needed and all.immaculate condition. Beds comfortable. Garden wow...no words can describe the peaceful ambience of the place yet just around corner from town. Plenty wild life to see. Red kites flew over often. Plenty beautiful places to visit. Cannot fault at all.hoping to go back.

Lovely bungalow with a fabulous garden but as others have commented the showers are not good.

The town of Rhayader is small but the people are very friendly. The menus available at the local pubs are very limited due to Covid! There are some lovely walks in the local area and the beach at Borth and the neighbouring nature reserve are well worth a visit.

Lovely clean and comfortable bungalow with a fantastic dog secure back garden. Even though it is on the edge of a market town, it was very quiet. Takeaways, pubs and restaurants within walking distance, as is the River Wye with a lovely wooded walk. Almost next door is a Leisure Centre with swimming pool. On arrival there was a very generous hamper of provisions, thank you to the owners. For those less mobile, the step up to the front door is very high, would benefit from another step. Also the same for the back door into the garden. Beautiful part of the country with stunning views along the Elan Valley. Because we so enjoyed our holiday, we did look to rebook for the same time next year. The price was £300 more which sadly was no longer within our budget.

Lovely bungalow in a pretty Welsh town.

Less than a 5 minute walk to town centre bars, restaurants and cafés. Lovely friendly locals and near local sports centre.

This was our third time of staying at Trederwen and once again we enjoyed our stay, however the bungalow could benefit from some updating.

There are two bathrooms/ showers but only one of the showers is able to be used as the other shower has no water power at all. The bungalow can take up to six people but there was only two of us. Had we been a party of six it would have been a struggle with only the use of one shower. The conservatory that joins the kitchen has only two chairs in it that are not terribly comfortable and could benefit from a couple more chairs or a comfy settee. The kitchen does not have any chopping boards or trays, and could do with more cutlery for six people, especially when the dishwasher is in use. None of above is intended as a criticism as the bungalow has many positives, and we will return.

The bungalow is in good location for shops - very good garden well kept Dogs paradise.

Appreciated the thoughtful ‘welcome’ basket.

We enjoyed every single item. We also enjoyed our stay very much. The bungalow is well equipped with everything one could need. The only downside is the hot water pressure, which could be solved so easily with the installation of a pump.

As we've stayed in Trederwen before we already knew the house and facilities.

Would more than happily recommend Trederwen to anyone, and would also visit again ourselves. The house boasts a lovely huge garden, and spacious accommodation. And the owner does a rather nice welcome hamper, too! From the garden you can watch Red kites throughout the day and there is a local feeding station so you can witness these amazing birds from quite up close. Rhayader itself has various shops/pubs/restaurants/takeaways all within a few minutes walk from the house and there are also some nice walks along the river Wye. The area is outstanding and has a lot to offer. Visits to the Elan Valley are very highly recommended.

Fantastic house that photos didnt do justice.

Everything you could need all on one level. Garden is the star and our dogs loved exploring and run and exploring it. Garden room with log burner also great. Spotlessly clean and ideal for exploring local area with walks from the lovely village. Nearby Elan dams spectacular and also Ynslas beach near Borth a must for those with dogs. Thanks Mike for a great week and wouldn't hesitate to reccomend.

Great location. very quiet considering how close to town centre. Very comfortable beds. great shower. I would recommend this property without hesitation.

The cottage was excellent.

It was clean, warm, comfortable and homely. The owner (Mike) provided good information about the area and was very helpful. The welcome 'goody hamper' was also much appreciated.The cottage was ideally suited for a stroll to the local shops and there were a number of eateries close by, including at least five pubs - all serving food. There are many places to visit for those willing to drive up to an hour or so. These include the coast, country villages and Red Kite 'feeding stations..' The most stunning visit is to the Elan Reservoirs - not to be missed ! We visited places by car so that we could see as much as possible, but the area is without doubt a brilliant location for those who prefer a walking holiday.

The Bungalow was lovely very comfortable a home from home.

Lovely position in the town but very quiet. The kitchen lacks a few utensils. It was quite dark on the front porch could do with an outsid light.

This was our second stay at Trederwen and it did not fail to impress us as much as it had done during our first visit.

The bungalow is very well presented, equipped and beautifully furnished. The welcome hamper is not only very "welcome" but has obviously been compiled with thought and consideration. If you are visiting with your dog(s) the fully enclosed rear garden is an absolute godsend. The town location of Trederwen is just off the Rhayader high street but it has the feeling of seclusion and is very quiet. It is ideally located for exploring the Elan Valley, surrounding countryside and the West Wales coast. It is with great pleasure that we can truly recommend Trederwen.

Bungalow was very clean and warm.

The hamper left for us was amazing and very much appreciated by us all. The garden is fully enclosed which is great if you have a dog. There are lovely walks around the area which we enjoyed. We would definitely return to the bungalow. We did feel that a bigger fridge would have been helpful with a family and better water pressure in the main bathroom.

The accommodation was spotlessly clean and very well appointed. The garden was completely enclosed and an absolute haven for our two terriers. It’s really quiet but only 2 minutes from town. I would definitely go back and thoroughly recommend it.

Fantastic garden.

Home-from-home comfort. The location - close to town, walks, pubs, shops. Other attractions close by. As mentioned by others it would be "icing on the cake" to have a small sofa in the garden room - but we can live without icing!

On Our arrival trederwen was lovely and clean, the hamper that was there also on our arrival was really nice as well,trederwen was also very comfortable accommodation,the garden was really nice our dogs loved it especially our springer who wouldn’t come in she was in her element with all the different sections of the garden.

The town of Rhayader was nice as well ,we enjoyed eating out there also had a couple of takeaways from the Chinese which was really nice.The best bit was that you didn’t have to drive to the town,as it was only a few minutes walk. The people of Rhayader were also very nice and friendly,also very dog friendly. If you come to Rhayader it’s worth a visit to drive over the Cambrian mountain pass, the scenary is spectacular. We had a lovely time and we are looking to come back again next year ,We would love to stay in Rhayader again ,and stay in trederwen,as we had the perfect holiday in perfect accommodation.

Fabulous cottage in a very good location close to amenities.

Very clean and well maintained. Garden is beautiful and very large and the welcome hamper was very thoughtful and generous.

We thoroughly enjoyed our stay at Trederwen in the town of Rhayader.

It is spacious, very comfortable, has a well equipped kitchen and a lovely large garden. The sun room was a nice bonus area, just a shame we didn't need to use the log burner. After camping in the area on previous occasions, we know the area quite well and Trederwen was perfectly placed to visit again. The Elan valley is beautiful with great walks and stunning views. I would also recommend visits to Royal Welsh Crystal and Wye Lavender. Both of which are located on the edge of the town. My family and I look forward to staying again in the future.

The bungalow was spotlessly clean and contained absolutely everything you would need, a real home from home.

The garden was amazing and very big. The owner was in contact before we arrived regarding key collection, directions and heating and was very quick to reply to any questions before arrival. Upon arrival a very thoughtful and generous welcome hamper awaited us along with everting we needed to know about the house and local area. Absolutely perfect. Exceeded expectations.

One of the best holiday homes we have stayed in!

The bungalow was comfortable and warm with stunning gardens which were secure and ideal for our two dogs. The welcome pack was the best ever! The location was great with lots of eating places within walking distance. Would definitely recommend and hope to visit again.

Warm, comfortable bungalow a couple of minutes level walk into Rhayader.

The bungalow has a beautiful garden in which to relax. Easy access to the shops, pubs and river walks. The owners are quick to respond to any queries. Would recommend this bungalow to our friends and we would definitely come back again.

The only slight downside was the hit water pressure in the bathroom shower, but you can't do much about that.

The garden.

Large, enclosed, interesting, and safe for our lurcher dog. Comfortable bed and settees. Well equipped kitchen. Cosy and warm despite heavy snow one day! Position near centre of Rhayader - close to shops, yet totally private. A lot to explore in the area, and lovely walks to take the dog. We hope to return next year.

I booked this based on the criteria we had.

We wanted two bathrooms, pet friendly and comfortable. I had a few nervous nights as I was booking for us and our friends and just hoped it would fit the bill for us all. I need not have worried the accommodation was tremendous, the owner had thought of everything even things we would not have expected, like the throw in the 2nd lounge just in case we needed it whilst a bit chilly in the garden. We were so lucky the weather was great but had it not been we were thoroughly spoilt by the vast choice of books and videos in the lounge for our entertainment. The bungalow is ideally situated for visiting the Elan valley and the Red Kite Feeding station which my twitcher husband loved. I really think that the owner tried to think of every need for his holiday makers even down to the hand wash in the bathrooms. In conclusion if you are looking for a home from home in a beautiful well kept property with a wealth of fabulous places on the doorstep book this. Although don't fill all the dates available as we will want to go back. Thank you so much for the best holiday, your thoughtfulness is so appreciated.

The bungalow is absolutely first class a real home from home,The welcome pack is packed with goodies and is a real nice touch.

We used all the facilities including washing machine and dishwasher,thoroughly enjoyed our stay and will book again.

Weather was lousy, bungalow was excellent (it was the 3rd time we had stayed there), love the village, great garden for the dog, we'll be booking to go again.

This bungalow is perfectly located for our needs, having family living nearby.

Such a convenient location.

Was easy walking distance to centre of Rhayader, with its coffee shops, pubs and supermarkets. However, you would not know it when you got into the bungalow with its spacious garden. Only a short drive to lots of local attractions. The Red Kite Feeding Centre was truly spectacular - well worth a visit!

We had very specific requirements because one of the party has medical needs.

The person at Sykes contacted the cottage's owner even before I booked, to ensure those needs could be met. We had a lovely week in a comfortable bungalow and enjoyed, not only it's beautiful garden but also the many things to do in the area.

Trederwen is a lovely property to stay.

So clean and everything you need. Our dog loved the garden where the kites fly overhead.

Mid Wales is a new area to us and this bungalow and location met our touring needs admirably.

The bungalow was everything we hoped for and so lovely and warm! Especially as the weather was not so good. The garden was lovely and had the weather been better we would have been seduced into sitting out there and not doing the exploring we did! So it all turned out for the best. The owner left us a most welcome "hamper" which we gratefully made use of. We have no doubt that if this property is free we shall most positively return. The cottage was fabulous,everything had been thought of.

The welcome pack was the best ever. Loved the garden and the garden room was sublime. Would strongly recommend this holiday home. You didn't have to drive far for dramatic scenery. The mountain road to Aberystwyth was beautiful. We will definitely be going back.

The size of this property is vast.

The photos don't do it any justice. In all our party thoroughly enjoyed the overall experience and wouldn't hesitate at booking this property again. We have been to Trederwen twice now.

...and will be booking soon to go back again in 2019. It is a great bungalow in a fantastic spot. The facilities for us and the dog are exceptional and we look forward to our return.

Location was amazing with just a 15 minute walk to the red kite feeding station and an off road trail taking you to the Elan valley visitor centre.

Bungalow was in the middle of town but in a really quiet location. Property was lovely and clean, thoughtfully decorated to make you feel at home. Lovely garden. Only thing I would want to see improved was the water pressure of the shower in the main bathroom, but the other shower was great. Welcome pack was amazing. Will definitely look to return to this property!

Trederwen is a lovely property in a very convenient position in the centre of Rhayader.

It was good to be able to park up and walk out for dinner and good dog walking. The bungalow is big and comfortable with a lovely garden for the dogs. The beds are the best we have ever had in a rental property and so comfortable. We found a lovely, dog friendly pub called the Eagles Inn which had extremely tasty and plentiful meals. All in all we had a great week in this lovely property.

The bungalow was extremely comfortable and situated in a fantastic location, close to local amenities, walks and attractions.

Everything you needed was there and the large rear garden was fantastic, great to sit in and watch the Red Kites in an afternoon and our dog Muppet loved playing in it.

This was our second stay at Trederwen which remains the best holiday cottage that we gave stayed at.

The property is ideally situated in a quiet yet central location in Rhayader. It is a very well equipped property with a particularly attractive and secure back garden, when on a sunny day you can relax and observe the Red Kites circling overhead. The weather was not so accommodating for this visit so we did rather less walking in the Carly located Elan Valley. This made us doubly appreciative of the comforts and standards of the property itself. The welcome hamper is a lovely touch on arrival and sets the tone for a relaxing and inviting vacation. As last time we were sorry to be driving away at the end of the week.

Well prepared facilities and a very thoughtful "welcome pack" which even included provisions for our dog! Lovely large, private and secure rear garden. Comprehensive information brochures on the locality were in place. Undoubtedly one of the nicest properties we have stayed in.

Probably the best holiday cottage we have ever stayed in.

Small touches like the welcome hamper provided can make such a big difference. A great location, good weather and a very comfortable cottage with a large and attractive garden all combined to provide a great mini break. Thank you to Sykes cottages for saving us a booking fee incurred, (as it turned out unnecessarily), with "Owners Direct." We sort of stumbled across the Sykes web site by default via Owners Direct. However now that we are aware of and have had a positive experience with Sykes we will definitely book directly through you again in the future.
