“There were numerous maintenance and cleanliness issues throughout the property.”

In several rooms, the wallpaper was peeling off the walls, and the overall décor was very shabby and in clear need of attention. In several rooms, the wallpaper was peeling off the walls, and the overall décor was very shabby and in clear need of attention. The general state of repair gave the impression that the property had not been properly maintained for some time. A number of basic facilities were either broken or unsafe. The light in the upstairs bathroom was not working, the sink in the annex bathroom was not properly attached to the wall, and a bedroom lamp was broken. In addition, there was no exterior lighting at all, which made moving between the main house and the annex particularly hazardous, especially as the paving slabs underfoot were uneven. We were forced to rely on torches to get around safely. Cleanliness was also a major concern. The hob and oven were dirty, and the oven trays were so filthy that we had to purchase our own in order to cook. The extractor fan above the hob was covered in grease, and there were damaged sections of the worktop. The hot tub, which was one of the key features of the property, was in an unacceptable condition. There was grit in the bottom, and the water became murky almost immediately upon use. It was also not checked or maintained each morning as stated in the property details, which was very disappointing. Overall, the condition of the property did not reflect what was advertised, and it did not provide value for money. These issues had a significant negative impact on our stay.

Thank you for taking the time to share your detailed feedback. We are very sorry to hear that your stay did not meet your expectations, and we regret the impact this had on your experience. Please be assured that your comments have been taken on board in full, and we have treated them with the utmost seriousness. Since your stay, we have already begun addressing the issues highlighted. Redecoration of the property is currently ongoing to improve the overall décor and presentation. In addition, a brand-new kitchen has now been installed, and the oven has been professionally deep cleaned to ensure a much higher standard of cleanliness moving forward. We have also arranged for a qualified electrician to attend the property, who has carried out checks on all electrics and resolved the issues raised. This includes replacing the outdoor solar lighting with improved external lighting to ensure safer access between the house and annex. We are also reviewing our maintenance and housekeeping processes, including the management of the hot tub, to ensure that standards are consistently met and clearly aligned with what is advertised. We genuinely appreciate you bringing these matters to our attention, as this allows us to make the necessary improvements for future guests. We do hope that, despite the issues experienced, you were able to enjoy the majority of your stay, and we would welcome the opportunity to provide you with a much-improved experience in the future.
