    “My partner & I went away for a week with our 2 dogs.”

    Very easy to find the site but slight problem finding the property as it was dark when we arrived … some passers by pointed us to where we needed to be (the name of the property was on each of the gates). Would have been helpful if there was a small mini map at the entrance. Small problem with mould but this was sorted with a quick clean and didn’t come back. There was a hell of a lot of condensation on the windows and on the wall where the bed was lifted up in the day. If the heating was ...

If the heating was left on and a window was left open then this would be less of an issue - which is what we did. The microwave oven had the markings rubbed off, which meant getting used to it took some time. The entrance door was slightly warped and let in a bit of a draft. It wasn’t a major issue for us. We did try to ring one or two of the owners to make them aware of this, but never got an answer or a reply. These few things didn’t impact our stay - we thoroughly loved the property, the views and surrounding area.

About the location

RHAYADER

Llandrindod Wells 10 miles; Aberystwyth 34 miles.

Rhayader is a small Welsh market town with a selection of tea rooms, pubs, restaurants, amenities and unique little boutiques, including local antiques. An added bonus of a leisure centre with a large swimming pool and a weekly livestock market. The Red Kite Feeding Station, on the outskirts of the town is a great attraction not to be missed. Rhayader is the first town on the River Wye and is home to the spectacular dams and reservoirs of the Elan and Claerwen Valleys. The Elan Valley offers a variety of walks and cycle trails (cycle hire is available in Rhayader), as well as a visitor’s centre with café and children's play area. This area is known as the Wildlife Centre of Wales, with its amazing variety of nature reserves open for visitors to enjoy. There is also pony trekking available in the area. Visit Builth Wells, where the Spring Festival, Royal Welsh Agricultural Show and Winter Fair are all held annually. Alternatively, a scenic drive will take you to the Welsh coast 34 miles away.
