    “What an absolute Gem!”

Can’t say enough good things about the property and equally importantly the land it sits in and around. The documents showing the renovations shed some light on exactly how much time, effort and money went into bringing the farmhouse back to life. Can’t say enough good things about the property and equally importantly the land it sits in and around. The house has been restored with great care and the attention to details shines through in every room. The documents showing the renovations shed some light on exactly how much time, effort and money went into bringing the farmhouse back to life. All of the owners fields are gated and fully accessible and there’s benches down by the beautiful river where you can also take a wild dip if you feel inclined (we did). Walk out the door and across the road following the pathway and you’re launched into 500 acres of wild Brecon Landscape where you’re free to roam, or drive 5 mins away 8th the MOD owned land and you’re treated to a spectacular mountain pass. On our stay we struck out as far as New Quay to watch dolphins and also climbed Pen Y Fan on the Horseshoe Loop then took in the Waterfall Walks. Every day was made more perfect by arriving back at the Farmhouse and as you’re only 10-15 mins from Brecon, shops and restaurants are all in striking distance. Don’t hesitate to book, you won’t be disappointed and if you get the opportunity have a chat with the owners and locals, they’re great people who are warm and welcoming.

Resting in the rolling green countryside of Upper Chapel in Powys lies Pen Bont Home Farm, a fabulous, family-friendly, pet-friendly holiday home.

With a children's play area and a large games room, this home is ideal for a family gathering or a special occasion.

Inside, the home is beautifully equipped with character features and plenty of home comforts for a relaxing self-catered stay.

The ground floor is home to a spacious kitchen/diner, a lovely space for the designated chef to show off their skills while the family awaits a feast at the dining table for ten.

From here, the sitting room offers a space to relax in front of the woodburning stove, while the study provides space to break away and unwind, should you need it, or even do some office work as a printer is provided.

Upstairs, four tastefully decorated bedrooms welcome you to sleep after a busy day of exploring; two super-king-size beds with a zip/link feature mean you have a variety of sleeping options, along with the twin room and a family room, both of which have handy en-suite shower rooms.

Outside, the garden makes a fantastic place for hosting in the warmer months, with its barbecue for alfresco cooking and children's play area to keep the little ones entertained.

When it's time to explore, make your way into Brecon or Builth Wells; in Builth Wells, treat your loved ones to a meal at Teulu Restaurant at Caer Beris Manor or perhaps a more casual bite at the Cosy Corner Bistro, whilst in Brecon there are a variety of places to eat or take away including The Hop In recommended for tapas and craft beers, and Felinfach Griffin an excellent gastro pub.

Even closer to Pen Bont Home Farm is the Lake Country House hotel at Llangammarch Wells 7 miles away, for fine dining and the Pwllgloyw Arms for pub food is the nearest at 5 miles distant.

For avid golf fans, enjoy a round of golf at one of two golf courses in Brecon, along with a further course in Builth Wells.

Walkers and cyclists will not be short of activities in this delightful area, The Epynt Way is within a mile of the property and provides more than 50 miles of scenic and safe walking or cycling close to the military range.

We have interesting river walks on the farm where you can see a variety of birds and animals including kingfishers and the occasional otter.

Make your way to Brecon Canal Basin for a lovely stroll, and the Brecon Beacons National Park is only 6 miles away, the Brecon Beacons are just to the south of Brecon, the National Showcaves Centre for Wales about 25 miles away.

Brecon has 2 interesting museums; Y Gaer Museum Art Gallery and Library, and the Royal Welsh Regimental Museum.

Hay On Wye is a short drive away, which is the town of the book festival but is of interest all year round due to good shopping, interesting restaurants a good market on Thursdays and of course thousands of books.

Many of these we have documented and provided suggested routes.
