The property

The Old Vicarage is an appealing Grade II listed house arranged over four floors in Laugharne, Sir Gaerfyrddin, providing ample off-road parking, a welcoming hot tub, and a variety of distinctive rooms for time together and quiet moments apart.

Cross the threshold and you will notice the blend of heritage details and modern features, where high ceilings, period touches, and sash windows are partnered with practical additions designed for easy holiday living.

The kitchen/diner forms the heart of the home, giving plenty of space for preparing shared meals and chatting over plans for the day, while the separate dining room, enhanced by a glowing woodburning stove, creates an atmospheric backdrop for unhurried dinners.

Later, settle into the main sitting room for a film, retreat to the snug with a favourite drink, or make your way to the lower-ground-floor games room for another round of fun. Across the upper storeys, five thoughtfully arranged bedrooms provide flexibility for multi-generational groups, with three king-size rooms, a second-floor king-size bedroom with en-suite, and a second-floor bunk room with its own en-suite that younger guests are likely to claim as their own.

A further bathroom and convenient cloakroom ensure there is plenty of space for everyone to get ready each morning.

Step outside to the enclosed garden, where lawn and patio areas invite you to enjoy al fresco dining, while the hot tub offers a tempting place to unwind under open skies after a day out. When you are ready to explore, The Old Vicarage sits close to Laugharne’s highlights, including its impressive castle, estuary walks, and the renowned Boat House and writing shed linked to Dylan Thomas.

Families can venture to Pendine to roam its broad sandy beach and discover more about its record-breaking motoring history.

For full days beside the sea, the coastal towns of Tenby and Saundersfoot provide beaches, harbours, and attractions to suit all ages, from boat trips to ice-cream stops.

After each adventure, The Old Vicarage in Laugharne is a delightful place to gather again and plan the next outing.

About the location

LAUGHARNE

Tenby 16 miles.

Laugharne, with its majestic castle standing on a low ridge overlooking the wide Taf River Estuary, is famous for its associations with the poet Dylan Thomas, and a visit to his Boat House and the writing shed where he wrote most of his works is a wonderful experience. Beautiful walks in and around the castle, with breathtaking views of the estuary, can be followed by cream teas in quaint little tea rooms, a drink in the local pub or shopping in the gift shops and mini market. The nearby sandy beach at Pendine is where many land speed records have been famously set on its seven mile stretch of beautiful flat sand, and a little further afield are the seaside resorts of Tenby and Saundersfoot. With walks in all directions, great days out at castles, mills and craft centres galore, this is a perfect base for all the family, at any time of the year.
