    “Nuthatch Cottage was perfect for us, we had everything we needed in the cottage and the Owners were very friendly and helpful.”

    We felt very relaxed watching the birds on the feeders in the garden. Perfect location to visit Cardiff, we caught the train from Pontyclun it was so easy. We hope to visit again .

A stunning stone-built property with a sociable open-plan layout, this Welsh abode is a true delight at any time of year.

Begin your relaxing retreat by kicking back and relaxing with a refreshing beverage in hand as you settle down on the sofa and flick on the television, or gather around the charming dining table for a romantic meal for two, the amply-equipped kitchen offering every essential appliance you could need, even a dishwasher so you don't have to worry about the washing up on your escape.

Moving up onto the first floor you can find the spacious double bedroom settled beneath the characterful beams of the room, offering a haven to rest your head amongst following a refreshing rinse in the adjoining shower room.

When you rise, take a cup of tea out onto the patio and let your canine companion roam around the enclosed area, before selecting an outfit from the ample storage space in the bedroom and heading out on the day's adventure.

Although remote, the local area makes a lovely spot for the avid walker, with the River Ely being well-worth exploring, followed by a delicious dinner in the nearby pub, Miskin Arms.

There are plenty of local attractions for you to enjoy, with Llanerch Vineyards just next door with its café/restaurant and farm shop, you’re also just 1 mile from The Vale Hotel and Golf Course and the Miskin Manor, both with their restaurant and spa facilities.

Slightly further afield rests Pontyclun, also quaint in character, here you can find a wider selection of cuisine options, including shops where you can pick up your own fresh ingredients, as well as a railway station with direct links to Cardiff and Swansea.

Local historic towns of Cowbridge and Llantrisant, with their leisure centre/swimming pool, and The Royal Mint Visitor Center, are well worth a visit.
