Woodpecker Barn is a wonderful holiday cottage for those wishing for a remote setting in easy reach of both coastal and countryside attractions.

A beautiful stone-built barn with a contemporary interior, this property is wonderfully suited to couples, friends or families looking to explore Wales at any time of year.

Step over the stylishly patterned hallway and make your way into the open-plan living space where you will first see the sleek kitchen area letting you pour yourself a warming cup of tea whilst admiring the wide range of fantastic appliances on offer.

Pull up a chair at the dining table for an evening of family-fun board games, the patio doors open to let in the fresh countryside air, or snuggle up together on the plush corner sofa and watch your favourite film on the television.

Spend time together in the multi-level garden where your canine companion can enjoy running around the enclosed lawn as you kick back and relax beneath the sun after a day of adventure.

Move upstairs to find the two equally as inviting double bedrooms, both making lovely spots to rest your head after a fun-filled day, firstly choosing from either the ground-floor shower room or the bathroom to refresh before unwinding and catching up with your rest.

Explore the local area of Hensol by foot, with both a pub and the River Ely running by, it makes a lovely location for an evening walk, or follow the river to nearby Pontyclun where you can find even more pubs and eateries to choose from as well as shops to pick up your own ingredients for a homemade meal, you'll also find the railway station with direct links to Cardiff and Swansea.

Llanerch Vineyards is just next door with its café/restaurant and farm shop, you’re also just 1 mile from The Vale Hotel and Golf Course and the Miskin Manor, both with their restaurant and spa facilities.

Local historic towns of Cowbridge and Llantrisant, with their leisure centre/swimming pool, and The Royal Mint Visitor Center, are well worth a visit.

Be sure to explore the Welsh capital of Cardiff too, just a scenic car journey away, here you will find attractions such as its Gothic castle, museums including the National Museum Cardiff and the science museum Techniquest, or simply choose to ramble along the beautiful bay, taking in the seascapes as you enjoy some fish and chips for a delicious dinner.

For a day out with a difference the Cardiff International White Water Centre is a must, or head to Bridgend for a game of golf followed by wonderful shopping experiences at the McArthurGlen Designer Outlet.

Surrounded by so many coastal attractions, there's no better choice than Woodpecker Barn for your next holiday.
