Everything about our trip away was made easy.

Check in details emailed to you long before arrival, location was fantastic and a welcome pack of milk, bacon, butter and Welsh cakes was a lovely touch. The property itself was lovely inside and we found ourselves feeling very much home away home here. The area itself I think could do with some investment because it’s got so much more potential! The beach is beautiful and just sandy, no stones or pebbles. Be aware, if the tide is out…it’s a long walk to get to the sea but worth it when you reach it. I think others had noted that parking at the property is fine if there are spaces, you can’t park directly outside the property as you will get a ticket (we saw a lot of cars getting tickets, but literally other side of the road there are some white line markings, you can park on those without getting tickets. There is a car park behind the property which is for the hi-tide place for £3 per day, but we didn’t need that fortunately. There is an Aldi food store a ten minute walk away and there are a few stalls selling burgers, crepes, waffles, ice cream, coffee etc along the way. A walk to the promenade will also get you to some local bars and restaurants etc. there is an arcade right by the beach and they hold a market too (although unsure of dates). Town centre is literally a 15 minute walk as well! Everything is so convenient! I would recommend and should we go wales again, I wouldn’t hesitate to stay here again! Thank you Katrina.

Everything you could want and more.

Very clean, modern, gift pack of all you could need to get you going, great communication. Beach right outside your door, plenty of shopping and some lovely places to eat and drink.

We have stayed in his property a few times now and can't fault anything.

The accomadation is a home away from home for us. It is in a fantastic location a few steps away from the sea and a short walk in to town and the harbour. The host provides everything you need and more for an amazing stay. Thank you, we will be back again I'm sure :)

The owner left a very generous welcome pack which was very much appreciated after a long drive. We enjoyed our stay so much we have rebooked for next year.

Fabulous January stay 2 steps from lots of lovely beaches and town, free on road parking directly outside.

Very responsive owner, with easy communication and check in. very spacious and comfortable, everything we needed, dog and child friendly too. Great value and will definitely stay again.

6 day stay with my daughter and everything was perfect, clean & tidy, well equipped kitchen. Shower was great, My daughter really enjoyed the bathtub. 5 stars well deserved. Would definitely recommend and book again. Thankyou. PS the welcome gifts were very much appreciated and as it was over the Xmas period the Xmas tree was a nice touch

Our second stay at 76A we love it , such a good location right by the beach , the closest house to everything ,lovely and comfy had a refresh since we came last year and looks beautiful such a lovely place to stay , we have all ready booked a third stay , it’s become one of our favourite spots to stay , also the property owner is lovely thank you for a wonderful stay

This was a really lovely property to stay in.

It was spotlessly clean, in a fabulous location & very well appointed. You are literally seconds from the beach and a ten minute walk to the centre of town. Everything you need for a comfortable stay is there and we very much appreciated the Welsh cakes - thank you. I would highly recommend Mackworth Road to anyone.

This is our second stay at Mackworth road, it was as lovely as the first.

The accomadation is well kept, comfortable and has everything we need. The location is amazing with the beach on your doorstep and plenty of lovely coastal walks. The town of Porthcawl is only a short walk and has a lovely harbour area and plenty of places to eat, drink and shop. Our 10 year old is also very glad of how close the house is to the arcades and fair

Lovely stay, weather was kind to us with only one rainy day.

Great location close to beaches and shops. Clean and welcoming when we arrived with milk, bacon, bread, butter etc. provided and nice addition of bath robes and slippers. Secure garden for our dog who loved the beaches at Rest Bay and Newton which are dog friendly (although people were taking dogs on Sandy Beach and Trecco Bay we mainly stuck to the rules except on last day we tried the edge of Sandy Bay early in the day as was too hot to walk too far for the dog). Lovely garden furniture to sit outside both front and back. Was a damp smell in main bedroom which I think is caused by the above flat, as when they empty (I assume) the bath the water comes out all over the graveled area outside the patio doors not all down the drain leaving the area very wet. Also the flat above does cause a lot of noise as can hear footsteps all the time and their washing machine made the lights rattle in the living area.

A lovely cared for place to stay that has provide my friend and I with some much needed rest.

We had a lovely weekend @Mackworth Road, great location only a few metres from the beach and a short walk to the town with plenty of amenities.

Very nice property with everything we needed for a relaxing weekend away, very good size with plenty of home comforts. We did have a problem with the heating and the lovely owner was extremely helpful and arranged for someone to come and fix it very quickly. Would definitely recommend but might not be suitable for people with mobility issues as there are steps up to the property. Definitely give this place a 9/10

This place is absolutely beautiful, the last house before the beach it’s so lovely , very clean and well presented property, lovely welcome gifts the owner went the extra mile , I would recommend this property to anyone , we loved it that much we all ready booked to go back next year , loved our stay , thank you so much we are very excited to return 5 star stay

A wonderful place to stay, the accommodation was exceptionally comfortable and clean and it is so close to the beach.

Also, thank you for the welcome items which included milk, bread etc, they were a very touching and practical extra. I would highly recommend this accommodation.

So close to sea we walked down in our costumes to have an October swim and short walk to town centre - highly recommended

Our second time here.

...We did have a Problem with the Central Heatiing but the lady came and sorted it out twice....the house is now....my only concern is i wish she would invest with good beds.....as the beds dont really work....ie....uncomfortable...the house is now paved so access is better at the front....

A really pleasant stay the bed was comfortable and the property very clean.

Although the pub was quite noisy and busy it was good that in the bedrooms there was hardly any noise at all. only very minor points see below. Please could you let the tenants know what to do with the food recycling bin and also the general rubbish bin as we couldn't see where to empty them. Also if you would like the beds stripped. There was no need for the heating to be on but we couldn't work out how to put the heated towel rail on so I think that would be helpful too.

We had an lovely stay here, the accommodation was like a home from home, so clean and had everything you could wish for and more.

Just a few footsteps to the beach and plenty in the area to keep our little family busy. Thank you so much we will be returning :)

Had a really lovely week in Porthcawl with the dog.

2 minutes (no exaggeration) from beach. You can see surfers and swimmers in the sea when you have breakfast! You can walk to the promenade and shops in about 5-10 minutes. Neighbours friendly and helpful. Pub with food just around corner and you can take the dog. Flat super clean and the owner has supplied everything you could possibly need. Lovely welcome pack too. Thoroughly recommend and definitely want to go back again.

This is the second time we have stayed here.

The location is excellent, right next to the beach. Nice and cozy, They accommodated our second dog with no problem. All rooms are a great size, even the bathroom. The shower is great with hot water every time. Katrina left bacon, bread, butter, milk, dog treats, malt loaf and sachets of hot chocolate. Very handy. Will definitely stay again. Katrina sorted out a problem straight away when we told her about it. She was very helpful.

We had a lovely time when we returned to Mackworth Road for the second time.

It is ideal for just getting away from it all after spending the day with family who live in the area. It provides the best of both worlds being on the coast and being able to just enjoy the scenery and also being within driving distance of being able to go shopping at the outlet in Bridgend or in Cardiff. It has everything you need for you stay. The sitting area outside the front is lovely as you are able to sit and just watch the waves coming in and out. Will definitely be booking again in the future, as we all enjoyed our stay especially Rosie the dog.

Some noise from the fairground at the weekend but with doors and windows closed this was minimal and worth it to be so close to the beech and facilities. Katrina was a great host and a very small issue was rectified by her very quickly. The apartment was spacious. The dining area and terrace have a lovely sea view. If we stayed again we would take a couple of good quality pillows with us as those provided are quite flat. The mattresses are very firm and we would have welcomed a mattress topper for additional comfort. WiFi speed was excellent. The smart TV was great. Over all we had a lovely stay.

We had a lovely stay at Mackworth Road. There was a lovely welcome pack for us. The only complaint we had was the rubber bath mat was mouldy. Some of the utensils hadn't been washed up properly. The accommodation was well equipped and very comfortable. We would highly recommend it

Lovely place to come and stay, the owner left us with some Welsh cakes, milk, bacon, butter, bread and even a bottle of wine which was a lovely touch.

Clean and tidy with all the amenities. Spacious bathroom and 2 lovely bedrooms, with one leading out to the back patio.. My only gripe was the parking, there isn't a space for parking outside the property and we had to park around the back on the main carpark... If the man isn't in his hut then it's free but if he is there then it's £3 all day.. Right next to beach and pub, arcade etc. You can hear the music but it does die down about 9pm. Overall a very nice stay...

We had a lovely stay here, beautiful and perfect location.

Two teenagers, one adult and dog! One of the most relaxing holidays I’ve had, lovely dog friendly beach 15 min walk away but also a very large field two mins walk from the property. House had everything we needed and the courtyard garden has sun all day, or you can sit on the front porch and watch the world go by. The kids loved the fairground and very reasonable prices to what we are used to paying. We had no issues with parking but there are also two cheap car parks next to the property. Beach is beautiful and we had glorious weather so saw some lovely sunsets. I am hoping to book for us again next year. The owner was easily contactable should we have needed anything. It’s a big thumbs up from our family.

A wonderful flat, very close to the sea.

The new arrangement at the front of the building is great. Quite noisy at the weekend because of the fair, but this is only to be expected.

A beautifully decorated and very clean apartment.

Extremely close to the sea which is great. Lively at weekends in the summer but not obtrusive.

What a lovely place to stay, the propety is a minutes walk from a beautiful beach whch my dog loved!

Great property which is very clean and has all facilities that you would require.

Very comfortable to stay in. Stayed here last year also and the owners seem to have a keen interest to keep on improving the property for their guests. Fantastic location near to the beach, a fair, amusements, places to eat and within walking distance to the town of Porthcawl. Slight issues with parking during busy periods but this can easily be resolved once you get to know your way around. Highly recommended ⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️

We booked this apartment for the week for my birthday and we enjoyed every minute of our holiday.

The apartment is beautiful, very clean and the location is perfect. There are pubs, restaurants, arcade, fairground and the beach is literally on the doorstep. The host is brilliant and will help with anything she can and I would recommend this apartment 100% and I would definitely book again.

This is a brilliant flat.

It’s so close to the beach. It’s a clean, spacious and well furnished flat. Shops etc are only a 5-10 minute walk away. The owner is incredibly helpful. Would thoroughly recommend this flat and this area. We had a brilliant holiday here and will definitely be back.

The apartment was immaculate with all necessities, close to a clean sandy beach, top notch fish and chips nearby.

The host went the extra mile with a welcome gift and basic provisions including beach chairs . We can't wait to book it for next year same time.

Extremely comfortable place to stay. We also had a great host for the week, Katrina always in easy reach if needed. A few things could be improved such as direct access to the property could be improved along with a temporary parking permit issued for you during your stay to ensure parking availability at busier times. But overall excellent host, facilities, cleanliness and location is perfect.

Very clean, well presented with simple but appropriate furnishings for a comfortable stay.

A helpful owner who responded rapidly with any queries. Very close indeed to the sea. Fairground opposite and pub next door produced some daytime noise but the house was actually quite well insulated from this and the fair closed at 9pm promptly after which the apartment was surprisingly peaceful actually. Small suntrap courtyard with furniture and washing line at the back of the property was pleasant. Nice friendly neighbours. Beds not to our comfort unfortunately but these are personal preferences. Well equipped in general. Needed a cheese grater and a couple of sharper cooking knives in stock but these are small points. The listing needs to clarify that there is no parking for the property other than street parking. Also it would be helpful to have information regarding rubbish and recycling systems as we had to ask about this.

On the 4th day of our 7 days there, the toilet became blocked.

We contacted the owner who told us that this was a known issue and that it should have been fixed the week before. We were very upset because she didn't tell us before hand. We struggled for 2 days because we have young kids. I had to wait for plumbers who couldn't fix it until the end of those 2 days. Waiting for a plumber was not something I expected to be doing on my holiday. This was very inconvenient and wasted 2 days of my well needed holiday. The cottage owner was not understanding and she didn't offer anything as a compensation, not even an apology. This will make us think twice before booking a cottage again.
