What guests are saying

We love this area of Pembrokshire and have visited for the last 15 years.

Upon arrival we could gain access to the property, the key code we were given was incomplete. There is an electronic key lock on the front door which asks you to present a card and as we hadn't been given a card we looked down the side of the property at the back gate which had a manual key lock, we used the dials to enter the code but it wouldn't open. After about an hour of back and forward to the front door we decided to telephone the the mobile number we had been given which belonged to the owner, no answer. We kept trying and after quute some time we telephoned Sykes. The lady we spoke to was trying to be helpful but we didn't really feel she understood how to gain entry. Sykes then tried to call the owner with no luck, after two and a half hours of phone calls back and forth (it was raining by now, we were all getting a little frustrated and our Tesco shopping had now been delivered and was sat on the path) we had a telephone call from a lovely helpful lady from a different holiday cottages (Coast and Country Holidays if my memory serves we right) who gave us the final digit of the code and explained how to work the electronic key pad on the front door. We were finally in. The cottage was clean and tidy but could do with a little maintenance, the advert states the garden is enclosed, however the last three panels of the fence at the top of the garden are missing which I found out when my dogs got onto the lane at the back of the cottage (luckliy, they have good recall). There is also no water pressure when turning on any of the hot taps, everything is controlled by Alexa which doesn't seem to work properly. We did consider telephoning the owners for guidance but as they hadn't returned any of our calls when we were trying to gain entry to the property we thought it pointless. As always we had an amazing week in Pembrokshire but sadly, I don't think we will be returning to Carreg Yr Yonnen any time soon.
