    “No tea or coffee available - had to navigate ourselves in the dark to Mossison’s to purchase some.”

    Bath towels too small for an average to large person. Stairs too steep - even though this is mentioned in the listing. Even though dogs were welcome there was no secure area outside for them. Finding the place in the dark to check in after 5pm was challenging, but no flexibility in checking in/out early or later was available Bed was very comfortable but lack of space meant my husband banged his leg on the bed Due to not feeling comfortable and the weather having snowed and more ...

    Hi Ann, I'm sorry you didn't enjoy your stay. There is usually tea and coffee in the kitchen caddy's, but unfortunately some guests do like to take it all. The stairs and outside space are described and photographed to manage expectations. A lot of feature are original from 1850 when it was built. Unfortunately I cannot control daylight hours or the weather but guests are always welcome to request an early check in and I have always managed to accommodate these requests. Safe travels to your next adventure. Property Owner

Situated in the bustling and historic market town of Brecon, on the edge of the scenic Bannau Brycheiniog National Park (Brecon Beacons National Park), lies this Grade II, end-of-terrace cottage.

Set over three floors, Kooky Cottage is a charming escape for couples seeking exploration of South Wales.

After a day of rambles, look forward to relaxing in the sitting room, offering a traditional décor with exposed stone work and sash windows, while the woodburning stove provides a cosy ambiance.

When you’re not dining at a fine restaurant in the town, enjoy whipping up home-cooked meals within the kitchen/diner, appointed with an electric oven and hob, microwave, fridge and washing machine, handy for when your walks take off on a muddier route!

Climb to the first floor to discover the double bedroom with a hanging area and chest of drawers for storing clothes, while across the landing is the bathroom with bath and shower over, so you can decide how best to prepare for the day.

The market town of Brecon has plenty to offer in the form of history, from its 11th century modest cathedral with stunning stained glass, to the Regimental Museum of The Royal Welsh, showcasing military history and exhibits.

Soak up culture within the Y Gaer Museum, Art Gallery & Library housed in a Greek revival building dating back to 1842 with many fascinating exhibits to discover, or for those seeking a little more adventure, explore the Bannau Brycheiniog National Park (Brecon Beacons National Park), where you can enjoy a host of outdoor activities at the Llangorse Multi Activity Centre, offering rock climbing and horse riding, or visit Llangorse Lake for boat hire and fishing.

With all this, plus the towns of Abergavenny to the South and Builth Wells to the north, Kooky Cottage provides an excellent touring base, all-year-round.

On the edge of the Bannau Brycheiniog National Park (Brecon Beacons National Park) lies the historic cathedral town of Brecon, boasting beautiful Georgian and Jacobean architecture, many museums, a theatre and cinema, individual shops, restaurants and inns serving real ales and local food. The Bannau Brycheiniog National Park (Brecon Beacons National Park) offers the avid walker and keen cyclist spectacular scenery at any time of the year, with rolling countryside and valleys and the wild beauty of waterfalls and caves. The park is home to traditional market towns, castles, ancient monuments and miles of canal where many pretty walks can be enjoyed.
