Milkwood Villa

An exceptional stay in Laugharne We genuinely couldn’t have asked for more from our stay at Milkwood Cottage. The house is absolutely beautiful, finished and equipped to an exceptionally high standard, but what really makes it special is the setting. The views across the estuary towards Laugharne Castle are spectacular, whether from the main open plan living area, the front bedroom or the garden. They are just as impressive at night when the castle is illuminated. Opening the sliding doors from the living room onto the veranda in the morning, with the sun rising across the view, was a real highlight. The kitchen is exceptional and extremely well equipped, while the bedrooms and en suite are beautifully finished and very comfortable. Outside, the tiered garden is fantastic, fully enclosed and extremely dog friendly, with a great open space and a superb hot tub that was already warm and ready for us when we arrived. The location is hard to beat. You are right in the heart of Laugharne, with the pub and convenience store only a couple of minutes away, and the Dylan Thomas walk around five minutes from the house. It was a beautiful walk and perfect for the dogs. Even the practical details have been thought through. The drive is easy to access with plenty of room for several vehicles. A huge amount of credit must go to the owners and Skye Cottages for creating and offering such a wonderful property and experience. It is one of those places where the quality of the house, location and views all come together perfectly. A genuine five star stay. We were sorry to leave and are already looking forward to booking our next visit.

Just Perfection!

Upon arrival, huge undercover huge parking area…..easy use of key safe . The property was spotlessly clean with all needed for an enjoyable holiday. Good communication from the owner and information relating to the area. The hot tub was a bonus which is cleaned on a weekly basis. Lovely views from the ideally placed tub across the estuary and castle. Laugharne itself is very friendly. I engaged with several of the residents in conversation about the area and history. Dogs seemed to be welcomed everywhere, the two cafes, pubs and wine bar. For a scenic walk, go past the boathouse, into the wooded area and along the coastal footpath. I will definitely recommend and will be booking again in the near future.

The design of the house is very clever and you get a sense of luxury and comfort whether in the lounge, the kitchen, the bedrooms or in the garden. The beds especially were so comfortable. The location could not be better and the views we had whilst enjoying a drink on the balcony were stunning. This is probably the best holiday property that we have stayed in and would not hesitate in recommending it to others. Short walks to the cafes, shops and pub/restaurants meaning you can leave the car safely parked in the ample parking bay attached to the property. Lovely to have access to Netflix and Prime on the TV and a nice touch having a supply of board games. I needed to contact the owner about a couple of very minor issues and both were sorted instantly. A lovely holiday in beautiful accommodation.
