Cothi Cottage is a wonderful detached, single-storey property set on the furthest side of the farmyard alongside Penwernfach House in Ponthirwaun, Ceredigion.
Visit Wales has awarded Cothi Cottage their 5 Star Grading.
It is a very roomy cottage with a particularly large lounge and good-sized bedrooms.
Its fenced, private grassed back garden makes Cothi an ideal choice for families with small children and its garden also provides really fine views for the appreciation of those who are a little older.
This cottage is pretty with colourful potted plants hanging and placed neatly around the exterior of this brick cottage.
The sitting room, with its rich peach walls, creates a warm atmosphere as you toss a log onto the wood-burning stove, flick on the TV, and enjoy some family favourites.
The bright kitchen area, with white fixtures and stone flooring, is both functional and stylish; it also includes a convenient washing machine, ensuring you feel right at home during your stay.
The dining area is homely and inviting, perfect for enjoying quality family time over a meal.
The cottage offers a bright twin room and a double room with a peaceful view of the private garden.
The bathroom, with its blue-tiled walls, provides a choice between a relaxing soak in the bath or a speedy shower before heading out for a day of adventure.
There is also a separate cloakroom for added convenience.
The enclosed garden is beautifully manicured, making it an ideal space for families with young children to enjoy.
A bench area offers the perfect spot to savour a meal grilled on the barbecue, or you can read a book with refreshments on the patio.
If you fancy some friendly competition head over to the impressive communal garden, complete with a Games Room, Play Area with a play tower, Football Field, and a 200-yard Golf Range (open May to September).
For outdoor entertainment, there’s Chess, Table Tennis, and a small information studio, along with a barbecue area for enjoyable outdoor gatherings.
Also make sure to say hello to Stan and Ned the loveable donkeys!

Very large and comfortable cottage in a quiet and peaceful setting with a car charger which was easy to use this was great for us coming from Lancashire.
Having mobility problems it was great to see a handrail next to the toilet and another in the bathroom. Nice enclosed back garden doesn’t look it but there is a metal fence behind the wooden one. We loved our stay and hope to return one day
A week stay in Cothi, four adults, two of whom were my elderly parents who are in their eighties with mobility problems.
The whole property is on one level without any steps to negotiate throughout. Cothi is spacious, light and airy and easily comfortable enough for the four of us. On our arrival we found a lovely Cake, some Tea, Coffee and Sugar along a pint of Milk in the fridge to get us through till we got to the shops the next day. The whole property was spotlessly clean throughout and it had everything you’d ever need for a comfortable stay, even an EV charger which was really handy given the lack of public chargers in the area. The surroundings are idyllic and are very well maintained, making the garden a beautiful place to sit and relax, you can even see Stan and Ned, the friendly resident Donkeys in their own field. We would whole heartedly recommend Cothi to anybody wanting a peaceful, comfortable break, in fact we are already talking about returning in the near future. Thank you Yvonne and family for everything.
