“An absolutely beautiful accommodation!”

A lovely warm welcome from Steve, who had lots of tips for places to visit. We could not have asked for anywhere better, Y stabl had everything you could possibly want for an amazing week, even the weather was fantastic. The sitting room is very comfortable, the kitchen has lots of storage space and everything needed to cater for yourself. A lovely shower and bath, lots of soft fluffy towels, and a wonderfully comfortable bedroom. Well located for experiencing some coastal walks, with the ...

We could not have asked for anywhere better, Y stabl had everything you could possibly want for an amazing week, even the weather was fantastic. The sitting room is very comfortable, the kitchen has lots of storage space and everything needed to cater for yourself. A lovely shower and bath, lots of soft fluffy towels, and a wonderfully comfortable bedroom. Well located for experiencing some coastal walks, with the hot tub being perfect to relax in after a day out and about. The welcome gifts were a lovely treat too. We would definitely recommend staying here.

“Steve, the owner, was there to welcome us after our lengthy and tiring journey to get there and he gave us helpful advice on the cottage facilities and demonstrated the controls on the very inviting hot tub.”

As we had never been in the Pembrokeshire area before, he offered advice and information on places to visit and reassured us that he was on hand if we needed anything during our stay. We found Steve to be very friendly and helpful and the welcome pack of provisions was much appreciated. Sadly the weather during our stay was terrible but the comfort and facilities of Y Stabl made our holiday more enjoyable……especially the hot tub……it was fantastic and would be one of the reasons we would love to return to this property. “Steve was a wonderful host, he's really welcoming and gave some great recommendations for places to visit.”

He checked in with us regularly and was happy to help with anything to make our stay more comfortable. The accommodation is perfect for a couple and a great base to explore Pembrokeshire. It's really peaceful and the hot tub was a great bonus! Whilst there is a small hair salon on site this didn't detract from our stay. It was only open in the mornings on a couple of days and we didn't see anyone when we used the hot tub (late afternoons and evenings). Overall would definitely recommend and would love to visit again.

“The property was perfect, with everything we needed.”

We slept really well in a very comfortable bed with even a choice of quilts which, consideriing the temperature for our stay, was very welcome. It is very well situated for exploring the Pembrokeshire coastline and we walked many, many miles doing just that! Steve was a very friendly host who was only a text message away if we needed him. He greeted us on arrival and left a very generous welcome basket, he also saw us off at the end of our stay. Thoroughly recommend Y Stabl.

“Relaxing & Memorable Stay in Fishguard Just back from an absolutely fantastic week at Steve’s property in Fishguard.”

It was the perfect place for some quality time with my son, peaceful, comfortable, and a great base for exploring the area. The house was spotless, well-equipped, and everything felt really easy and well thought-out. Communication with Steve was great throughout, friendly, responsive, and helpful. His advice on where to visit and where to eat during our stay was awesome, especially the incredible costal walk to the blue lagoon, and then dinner at the Sloop Inn!

“We had a lovely long Bank Holiday break at Y Stabl.”

We walked in and immediately felt at home, Steve was so kind and showed us everything we needed as well as pinging us during the long journey there. We settled straight way and got the wine and food on. The equipment was adequate for what we needed, and we managed spaghetti bolognaise, a stew and a pork Sunday lunch (we cook a lot as part of our diet needs)! The welcome basket was lovely, and I don’t think there was anything left by the time we did! The walks were also lovely, and we found plenty of places to sit and have lunch along the way. The weather was kind, and we thoroughly enjoyed the jacuzzi to get back to, nice and simple to use, and the privacy was also fine as you are quite out in the countryside. It was also lovely to read how many people have been coming there for many many years – when the swimming pool was there! Again, thank you we needed to rest our heads and hearts and we able too

The spacious cottage is very well equipped with just about everything you may need. The comfy bed and cosy duvet are fabulous! The hot tub is great after a day of sightseeing. Nice and quiet for a restful stay. Steve (owner) readily on hand if required and knowledgeable about the area with respect to visits. Ample tourist information in the cottage. Internet, WiFi and Sky mobile signals a bit temperamental while we were there; however weather probably didn't help in this respect.

“Just returned from a fabulous week at Y Stabl and thoroughly enjoyed it.”

Great base for exploring South Wales. Cottage is lovely and has everything you need. We cooked 5 nights out of 7 and had no problems. Steve greeted us on arrival and gave us the tour and some tips on where to walk, which is what we intended doing. He is very knowledgeable and passionate about the area and rightly so! Lower Town Fishguard is gorgeous and I’m a little in love with the place. The weather was so hot we actually found using the jacuzzi at the end of a long day to be too warm! We went in later and later to try and enjoy it for longer. It was lovely though! Goodwick is a lovely little town and we found the people to be so friendly it was like home from home. That was the case everywhere we went! Our only negative was the cottage felt a little damp, but to be fair the constant rain but warm weather up to our week would have contributed. We were lucky so just opened the windows and it made a difference. Nothing worth complaining about though and certainly didn’t spoil our brilliantl week, and I would recommend this to family and friends as a cracking place to stay and Steve and his wife are the best hosts! Thank you.

“Fantastic week here - the stable is clean, tidy and charming.”

Everything you need is supplied - the owners made us feel so welcome too, gorgeous Welsh bara brith cake and wine on our arrival. This may be a small gesture but it conveys a really warm welcome missing in many places - our last week away in Brixham had nothing! Steve is great, friendly and really knowledgeable about the area. He’s there when needed but never intrusive. Lovely friendly cat around too we fussed over. Hot tub was just brilliant and we used it every day. Note that the bad review posted on here by somebody previously is complete rubbish - hot tub is NOT overlooked by the owner and is private enough, you can sit at the back of it and you cannot even see the house!! Area is beautiful - fantastic coastal walks in all directions. Lots of clean towels and bath robes for hot tub are provided. Thank you again for a lovely holiday!

“A delightful and comfortable stable conversion in the Pembrokeshire countryside which is a credit to Steve and Eilir.”

Steve met us on arrival and made us feel very welcome with a thorough explanation of the facilities and local places of interest that we may wish to visit. A great place in a good location, we managed to visit much of the stunning coastline. We had no issues whatsoever and particularly enjoyed the hot tub. We found ourselves caught out one day and Steve went out of his way TWICE to help us ON HIS BIRTHDAY too! Lovely place, lovely people, lovely cat. Shame the owners were around when we departed of Gwyndu would have a Yorkshire address now :-) Faultless.

“A spacious, comfortable cottage with everything you need for a great break exploring the North Pembrokeshire coast.”

The Wi-Fi Internet service is 200 Mb/s - which is faster than at home. The secluded hot-tub provides a private relaxed space to chill out after a days walking. Clean towels and robes for use around the hot tub are also provided as an added bonus. The owner was helpful and accommodating, available to help with any requirements and provided good advice for places to visit. We benefited from sunny weather, and not having explored this part of Wales before, we found plenty to keep us occupied within a 20-minute drive, in either direction along the coast.

“Unfortunately our stay was cut very short with us only being able to stay the 1 night before having to leave.”

There was a miscommunication between Sykes and the owner before arriving so they weren't expecting us but Steve was more than accommodating and got the property ready promptly, which was greatly appreciated. The cottage itself is beautiful and finished to a very high standard however we did feel the description and photo angles published are somewhat misleading stating the owners property is opposite - it is in fact in the garden, or your stay is in theirs should we say. The 2 are in extremely close proximity to one another and both are overlooking the other. It wasn't quite the romantic stay we were expecting as we could see into their home and them into the cottage and hot tub from almost every angle. For us the the property would be perfect if not for the location unfortunately.

Fabulous central location, so much to do and places to visit not too far away. Loads of beach’s to visit near by . The garden was keep to an high standard , hot tub was great set up towels and robes in the shed next to hot tub . Cottage was home from home everything you need was there just amazing . Hosts where friendly and left us Welsh cake , wine and after eights . We will return again next yr the weather was amazing . It was delightful to go out walking beach’s everyday and than return to the cottage and sit on patio . Can’t fault this place truly delightful.

“Beautiful quirky cottage, comfortable, clean and well equipped.”

Lots to see and do if you are prepared to drive to other towns nearby. Fishguard itself needs a boost. Lots of shops closed down or empty. On the whole we had a lovely relaxing stay, our only negative comment would be that the owners live very close and a third property is currently being renovated leaving it feeling overlooked. Some kind of privacy screening would be worth a thought or to mention this in the description

“What a wonderful find Y Stabl was.”

It was exactly as described in the details and the photos did it justice. Steve met us when we arrived, showed us around and explained a few things. He is very friendly, helpful and would have been approachable had we have needed any further assistance. But, then he left us to enjoy our holiday. The cottage is very interesting, homely and had lots of tourist information to help you decide where to visit. There are also DVDs, books and games. The bed was so incredibly comfortable. The cottage is set in a peaceful location with only the occasional (once a day) passing car. The hot tub was a daily delight especially after a day of walking. Robes and extra towels are provided for the hot tub. It was very clean and hygienic. There is a fish pond and water feature in the garden and even when the jets were off, it was so relaxing to sit in the hot tub listening to the trickling sounds and the birdsong. We feel like we've been on a spa retreat. It's an ideal location for reaching both coasts. So many beautiful walks to do. But, also plenty of lovely towns to explore when the weather isn't favourable. We would definitely recommend a stay here.

My review of Y Stable is we thoughally recommend a stay to anyone. We go on holiday to relax and we did, having the pool hot tub, sauna and more than adequate TV, cooker, fridge, freezer to name a few. Tucked away in the little valley of Dwrbach in north Pembrokeshire, this single storey cottage has been converted from an old traditional stone cart house.

The owners, who live opposite, have taken great care making this into a luxury cottage, which is ideal for romantic breaks and those looking for home from home comforts.

The cottage is within a few minutes drive of the market town of Fishguard, also several nearby beaches, the bird observatory at Strumble Head and several points of access to the Pembrokeshire Coast Path.
