This picturesque double-fronted end of terrace cottage rests in the small village of Capel Iwan, a little settlement in South Wales not far from the bustling town of Newcastle Emlyn.

Gwynfa is a perfect fit for a family of five holidaying in the luscious Welsh countryside, in search of outdoor adventures and day trips to the coast.

Step into this homely abode and be met with a delightful sitting area to your right, where you can settle down before the warming woodburning stove as you watch a movie on the Smart TV, a quiet evening to relax after a busy day.

Opposite here is the dining area which is host to a beautiful wood table, gather here for board games, mealtimes and planning your activities.

Travel two steps up into the spacious kitchen, where light-wood worktops sit atop cream units holding a fabulous range of appliances including an electric oven and hob as well as a dishwasher, so you can whip up some fantastic dishes and not worry about the washing up afterwards!

Sit at the bench-style dining seating in here for your breakfast before heading into the conservatory to relish the morning sun settled on one of the soft seats with a cup of coffee or tea in hand.

Let the dogs have a run around first thing in the enclosed garden, this area is a delightful feature in summer offering somewhere private to get some fresh air.

Upstairs on the first floor, you are afforded with the choice of three bedrooms, including a king-size, a double and a single, all with ample space and quality furnishings, with the latter two rooms even benefitting from dual-aspect windows creating a bright and airy aura.

Freshen up in the bathroom, choosing either a long soak in the bath, or a hot shower in the separate walk-in shower, while a cloakroom lies on the ground-floor too.

Capel Iwan Cottages

Nestled in the small village of Capel Iwan, within the heart of South Wales, are these charming cottages, Bank House and Gwynfa. Both cottages have been renovated to a high-standard and come with a varied selection of contemporary furnishings and quality fixtures whilst still managing to retain some of its original features such as the exposed beams, making these properties a homely base to spend your holiday, and are most suitable for families or a group of friends. Be welcomed into delightful sitting rooms with a range of seating set around the woodburning stoves encased in a small inglenook fireplace. Find quaint kitchens with lovely cream units and sleek wooden worktops offering all the necessary appliances needed to cook up some delicious meals, whilst the dining areas have plenty of seating for those family gatherings over a sparkling glass of champagne. The local town of Newcastle Emlyn is a popular hub of rural life, with fabulous little shops and cafés, and sits alongside the River Teifi which is renowned for fishing all the way down river through the pretty village of Cenarth with its popular waterfalls through to Cardigan and out into the bay. You are ideally placed to explore the fabulous sandy beaches and craggy coves of Cardigan Bay with the popular villages of Tresaith and Aberporth just 12 miles away, or perhaps take a trip a little further to the traditional seaside resort of New Quay and you may be lucky to catch a sighting of the resident dolphins from the harbour wall. The area offers numerous outdoor activities including marine and wildlife spotting boat trips, coasteering and whitewater canoeing or fishing on the River Teifi. To the south are the Preselli Hills with fabulous heathland terrain, perfect for walking and enjoying panoramic views. You are also close to the beginning of the Pembrokeshire Coast National Park which wraps around from the west to the South Wales coastline, opening up a myriad of opportunities for fantastic days out. There are various National Trust properties, with the iconic white chapel and the beaches of Mwnt, the beautiful stretch of sand at Penbryn or the working estate at Llanerchaeron, all being just a scenic drive away. An idyllic village retreat, surrounded by undulating countryside, criss-crossed with footpaths, close to a popular market town, ideal for small families or couples looking to benefit from spacious living accommodation, partake in local outdoor activities or enjoy the nearby sandy beaches and coastal paths.

The bustling market town of Newcastle Emlyn is set on the River Teifi and offers an array of shops, both unique local producers and larger chain stores, such as designer clothes, crafts and jewellery, antiques, tea rooms, pubs, restaurants and a ruined castle, plus fishing permits are available nearby. Surrounding Newcastle Emlyn is beautiful countryside, whilst the rugged Cardiganshire coastline is just six miles away, where you have the opportunity to visit Cardigan Island Farm Park, wonderful sandy beaches, or take a boat trip to spot dolphins and seals at New Quay. Within driving distance is the town of Carmarthen, Dylan Thomas' Boat House in Laugharne, Cenarth Falls, paintballing, Folly Farm Adventure Park and Zoo, Oakwood Theme Park and train rides at Henllan, along with an array of castles, mills and craft centres. Newcastle Emlyn is an excellent base for exploring this part of Wales.
