Glebe Farm Cottage

Lovely owners, amazing place - it was as displayed in the pictures.

The owners live next door - it was a concern for us incase we get too loud and disturb them, however, at no point they intervened during our stay. Lush green farms, cozy, quiet and the house was quite cool even if it was quite hot outside.

We had a fabulous time at Glebe Farm Cottage.

It was well equipped & extremely comfortable. The views were stunning with dramatic sunrises directly opposite the cottage. We enjoyed walks directly from the front door, and it is well placed for visiting so many great places. It would be our pleasure to return next time we visit family in the area. Thank you

What a privilege to stay in such a beautiful spot: Our hosts were great: they'd just delivered a new calf as we arrived!

The cottage was peaceful;comfortable and had a lot of thoughtful touches. We were only a short drive away from the amenities in Cwmbrân but a whole world apart at Glebe Farm. The sheep in the surrounding fields and the chickens in the garden; the owls in the trees and the cows watching us go by. At night there wasn't a light to be seen: great for skywatching.

No wifi and no phone signal in the house. Perfect if you want to stay off grid.

It was so relaxing. The cottage was lovely. The view from the lounge is spectacular. It's such a peaceful place. Mrs Watkins is very friendly and welcoming. We have already booked a return visit.

Even tho the kitchen was well equipped I felt an additional set of large kitchen knives would be helpful when preparing a meal.

Both me and my wife also felt that the information pack needs to be updated with current places to visit and recommended pubs and restaurants to eat at. This would be helpful in planning your days as there was poor internet connectivity. Other than that we both enjoyed the peace and tranquillity Glebe Farm offers.

A holiday property that is ideal for anyone wishing to escape from the everyday 'rat race' for a few days.

Tucked away at the bottom of a steep hill, the cottage enjoys the most beautiful and expansive views over the surrounding countryside and there is a real sense of peace, especially at night. The cottage, which adjoins the farmer's home (but there is no intrusion whatsoever) is comfortable and it provides everything needed for a relaxing stay. There is also space for a car to be parked, just a few steps from the front door. The owners are lovely and their welcome is genuine.

Beautiful cottage, Lovely Hosts!

Although the peace and quiet is great! It's only situated approx 2 miles from the nearest town. We stayed at Glebe Farm for 2 weeks, unfortunately I was Hospitalised 2 days at the end of our stay. Our hosts Camilla and Philip, were so Very welcoming, but respected our privacy. Camilla gave good knowledge of places to see, we took advantage of her first hand knowledge and weren't disappointed!! NOTE: There is no WiFi/ Broadband in the cottage. Signals not good. Although MOBILE PHONE SIGNALS Are generally good. Would definitely recommend Glebe Farm Cottage.

As Canadians, Glebe Farm Cottage was perfect for us.

Its location between Garndiffaith, where my sister lives, and Castleton, where my brother lives, was ideal. The extremely well appointed cottage was delightful and provided our adult son and daughter the chance to discover the many many walking paths surrounding it. They used them for two hours each morning before breakfast and were enthralled by the whole experience.

Such a lovely quiet out of the way place to relax, and fabulous hosts.

Excellent local facilities in nearby Cwmbran but with easy access in all directions to Cardiff, Newport and beyond.

A comfortable holiday home.

As other guests have remarked, with lovely views of the hills and fields. The beds were a bit on the soft side, but this is a very personal preference. Other guests will have appreciated this. We have happy memories of our stay.

We loved Glebe Farm.

It was just magical waking up to those views for two weeks - from the bedrooms and the lounge/kitchen. While the cottage looks old from the outside, it's very modern inside, i.e. warm with all mod cons. Having a separate downstairs toilet was a great bonus. Camilla and Philip (the owners) are very friendly and were very quick to resolve the very minor issue with an outdoor light. As we have family and friends in the area, we had regular visitors and this was no problem at all. There is plenty of parking and nobody struggled to find the farm despite its idyllic countryside setting.

View is breathtaking.

At night you can see just one light ;). It was warm and clean. Everything you need is there. No wifi so if you want peace and quiet.

We had a lovely stay at Glebe Farm, the cottage was ideal for a party of four - well equipped and very warm.

The owners were also lovley and gave us some advice on trains and facilities in Cwmbran.

Cottage was absolutely lovely, warm, well equipped and beautiful views.

The only thing that could have improved it was some new pillows in the main bedroom!

Very nice place and very friendly farmers.

We had a short stay of just 4 days at the property.

It was neatly situated in a valley not to far from larger roads and the numerous attractions in the area. The property was large enough for us 3 and there is plenty of room available inside. The kichen, bathrooms etcetera where well equiped and easy to use.

The cottage interior is very comfortable, nicely fitted and well-laid out, with a useful area for boots/coats.

There is a patio with lovely views of the valley. We were surprised that the cottage information folder had no information whatsoever about the cottage or surrounding area - only hundreds of leaflets (some for rather far-flung places!). There was (for example) no introduction to the farm, no info about local walks, pubs, supermarkets etc. This wouldn't have mattered too much except that there is no WiFi (even though the farmhouse itself has WiFi) and very poor/no mobile signal - making it impossible to look these things up while in the cottage. We were also disappointed that the public footpaths crossing the farm had been diverted and were unmarked and in very poor repair (stiles completely unusable). This was a shame when there are pleasant walks around, e.g. to a stream in the valley which is great for children to paddle in. The garden was also unfortunately not very usable during our stay as the mower had broken so the grass was very long and had dog mess in it.

Very clean, with pretty surroundings.GARDEN BENCH/table for sitting outdoors and enjoying the view and sounds of birds singing.Lots to do and visit nearby,Owners house attached to cottage and are absolutely lovely and couldn’t be more helpful when my motorbike broke down, helping me find a mechanic that could solve my issue .Looking forward to returning again soon .

The view is spectacular. The house it self is maintained to the high standard, very clean and have everything you need. Very child friendly too. The hosts are really great who lives next door. They are helpful, and very friendly. We would definitely recommend this place.

This is the best holiday place I have ever visited with my children.

The children love the place, they play with the chickens, run around the field. I love the view so much. Its so beautiful here, I will definitely visit again. The host were so lovely and very welcoming. Thank you for the gifts of welcoming eggs and some eggs to take home too

We had a lovely stay at Glebe Farm Cottage - it's very comfortable and the views are stunning.

Camilla made us feel very welcome on arrival and gave us some information about things to do in the area. Eggs from the farm chickens and milk in the fridge were a nice touch & our kids loved feeding the chickens in the mornings when they came to the door to say hello.

Our second stay at Glebe Farm Cottage and it won't be our last.

The hosts are lovely and very welcoming with lots of local knowledge of places to visit. Waking up to a stunning view every morning, seeing the cattle graze in the field underneath our bedroom window, being greeted by the chickens roaming the farmyard and the occasional visit by the dogs all added to the enjoyment of getting away from the 9 to 5. Cwmbran is only 5 minutes away, with lots of supermarkets, pubs, restaurants, etc. We will see you again soon!

It was so quiet and peaceful! The cottage is quite big and the garden is lovely!!

Hosts Camilla and Philip were very welcoming friendly and helpful.

We were visiting family nearby and there was plenty space to have them round for a barbecue which had been purchased specially for our use. House very comfortable and in a wonderful setting. Only criticism poor mobile signal and no wi fi available which would have made contact with our family locally a lot easier. Overall though we had a fantastic week thank you we hope to return.

WiFi would have made life a little easier, the farm has it but not the cottage.

A freezer would help. mobile phone signal is hit & miss being in a valley. The farmer and his wife are lovely people and go out of their way to help, they cleared a space in the garden shed for us to store some equipment in during our stay. Beware the farm dogs, all lovely dogs and harmless, the spaniels are hyper lol.

Although this property is just 10 minutes from Cwmbran it feels like you are deep in the heart of the countryside.

Spectacular views over the valley and blissful peace and quiet made this property the perfect location for us to enjoy a wonderful week of walking and cycling.

Clean and comfortable. Easily sleeps a small family. Close enough to South Wales "tourist spots" and essential shops but far enough out of town to feel remote and rural. Awesome views. Good facilities, relaxing and cosy. Be prepared for poor mobile reception (plan ahead or bring mobile WiFi?).

Wonderful views and the location is perfect for the numerous historic venues of South Wales.

This is the second time we have stayed and we intend to visit again. The hosts are most welcoming and have created a most comfortable cottage with considerable attention to all possible requirements. It's a perfect base for the Usk show, Rugby internationals, Abergavenny food festival plus the Brecon Beacons National Park. One week was not enough!

The owners were lovely people, really friendly and helpful.

The property had views to die for and it was so quiet and peaceful. The cottage has been well thought out and finished to a high standard. We would love to go back next year.

This is the second year we have stayed at Glebe Farm Cottage for a prolonged period and will most certainly be back next year also.

Camilla and Phillip have always made us very welcome and are great with our kids. They have taken then off around the farm and given them an insight into how the farm runs.

We were welcomed by the owner in a pleasant friendly way: Flowers on the table and fresh eggs of the chickens.

She is a nice lady.The cottage is light and cosy and has all the conditions that make your stay pleasant .Like a dishwasher,washing machine, oven and magnetron. Nice bedrooms with a view and a comfortable shower. But the topic is the blooming of the garden and the enchanting outlook on the surroundings. A small piece of paradise ! I can heartily recommend a stay at this cottage.

As we had been to this lovely cottage before we knew what to expect - fantastic views, a clean and comfy cottage built to high standards and really friendly owners.

My granddaughter aged 4 especially loved the hens who came looking for their breakfast each morning and the owners dogs.

An absolutely lovely cottage in the middle of nowhere but close to everything.

Could not fault anything about Glebe Farm Cottage. The cottage was very clean on arrival and well equipped with everything you need for a weekend or week stay. Lots of little extras too! The owners were very thoughtful, leaving us eggs, milk and welsh cakes. Beds were clean and comfortable and the towels were nice a thick - and everything just smelled so clean and fresh. Very warm welcome from the owners. We will definitely be back to Glebe Farm Cottage in the future.

the cottage is beautiful and very cosy, tucked away down a little lane surrounded with stunning veiws.

the only down side was no wifi, as was away working could have done with it, however was a relaxing in the evenings with no outside contact.

The cottage had all the comforts of home,this was the longest stay that we had booked in our 6 week trip and the best .

Plenty of privacy ,stunning views,a very peaceful place.We were attending a wedding in Cardiff and needed somewhere reasonably priced for four adults for a week ,about half an hour from the city.I had an overnight stay in hospital the owner went out of her to offer any assistance we needed.The cottage was immaculate with modern cooking and washing facilities, large bathroom and extra toilet Lovely Decore ! We were sad to leave but the experience was a beautiful memory.I can't do this place justice in writing .it is highly recommendable.
