However, when we stayed here in July 2026, the apartment was dirty and poorly maintained, and we quickly became aware that this property was in need of care and attention. We had to use the vacuum cleaner and wipe down the surfaces before we felt comfortable unpacking any of our things.

However, when we stayed here in July 2026, the apartment was dirty and poorly maintained, and we quickly became aware that this property was in need of care and attention. We had to use the vacuum cleaner and wipe down the surfaces before we felt comfortable unpacking any of our things.
Every corner of the property was thick with spider webs and gathered dust. Items that hadn’t been moved for a long time had a thick layer of dust on and around them, suggesting that any cleaning had been superficial at best.
We strongly advise against staying here if you have allergies to dust or mould. After a couple of nights in the property, one of us was having issues with itchy eyes and persistent sneezing.
Many of the soft furnishings including the chairs, headboard and sofas were stained. The carpet was worn and coming away in places.
There were spiders everywhere. One particularly unpleasant experience was opening the bread bin and disturbing half a dozen cellar spiders that had taken up residence inside.
The bathroom had visible issues with damp, with patches of mould on the walls and ceilings. Plants outside the bathroom had overgrown, preventing the window from opening properly and contributing to the damp. A small seating area outside was also overgrown, preventing us from using it as intended.
It also felt very bare minimum in terms of what was provided. There was no welcome pack, no towels, hardly any hand wash, and no bin bags in any of the bins except the one in the kitchen. The bathroom bin was dirty. There were no recycling facilities (even though the local council does do recycling collections as we observed in the area), which was very disappointing. There was no dishwasher and the pots and pans were not particularly clean.
This property is let down by failing to meet requirements for hygiene and cleanliness. With a little effort and maintenance this could be a fantastic place to stay. In July 2026, it would be difficult to recommend.
