    “Superb family house”

This property was enjoyed by our family of 7 adults in 2020. The upstairs living area was absolutely fantastic for us all in a social space. Although the seating wasn’t as comfortable for more than 5 adults, when were all seated in the evenings. A larger sofa here would be so so much better. The kitchen was well equipped and we enjoyed all sitting at the large dining table with wonderful views towards St Brides Bay. The beds were very comfortable which is always a huge bonus on holiday. The two smaller twin rooms were also fine for adults. The main bathroom had issues with drainage from the toilet which we reported. The outside space was rather unloved and not at all inviting to sit out. The garage was very useful to house our surf boards. The house is in perfect position to walk to Musslewick Sands at low tide which is often good for surfing and boarding. You can also walk to Marloes Sands which is heavenly and also often good for boarding. Dale is so near for other watersports, although sadly closed in 2020 due to Covid. And Dale pub is an absolute must for good food. Of course St Martin’s Haven is so near for Skomer Island visits. So many beautiful walks and areas to explore from the house. Thanks to the cleaning team which must have been a trial last year. Hoping when we next visit the sofa situation and toilet might have been upgraded.

The property

This stylish detached upside down property is finished and furnished to a very high standard throughout.

Newly built and set back off the Marloes beach road, at the end of the village, this house is a fabulous holiday destination in the Pembrokeshire Coast National Park.

There is a stunning panoramic view over the fields of the dramatic coastline from St Davids right round to Solva and Newgale.

Marloes village has a friendly pub The Lobster Pot as well as The Clock House cafe.

The much photographed Marloes sands is just a 3/4 mile walk away and has a huge expanse of golden sand at low tide.

The coastal bus can be hailed right outside the house and you can take the Dale Princess to Skomer Island from Martins Haven, just a couple of miles away.

There is a village shop in Marloes.

About the location

MARLOES

Milford Haven 9 miles; St. Brides 3.4 miles; Haverfordwest 13 miles.

Marloes is a small village on the Marloes Peninsula in Pembrokeshire, within the Pembrokeshire Coast National Park. The village has a pub, The Lobster Pot, a small café and a village shop. The spectacular beaches and rocky coves around Marloes are well-known for many historic shipwrecks, caused by the treacherous seas surrounding Skokholm Island, just off the coast. Marloes Sands, a National Trust beach with spectacular geology is certainly worth a visit, as is Skomer Island, where you can take a boat trip to view its 6,000 pair of puffins and 120,000 pairs of Manx Shearwaters.

Note: Property not suitable for the very young or the infirm due to the oak and glass staircase.
Note: Please bring your own beach towels and cot linen.
