4 generations of our family stayed here. Plenty of room for us all.Ages ranged from 5 to 100. The 3 children especially loved the games in the barn. Would highly recommend.

Very peaceful location. Accommodation was very good and had everything needed for 8 of us. Plenty of parking. Lovely weather meant we could enjoy the grounds and multiple games of badminton were enjoyed in the courtyard. A good supply of puzzles and games for the evening if the weather isn't favourable. Good food at The Red Lion for nights you don't want to cook.

The delightful owner met us on arrival, but was anxious to leave us in peace.

The accommodation was perfect, we had the courtyard to ourselves with barbeque, table tennis and badminton net. The grounds were full of flowering hydrangeas and a romantic derelict mansion (no access , but what a backdrop!) Every thing in the accommodation worked well and looked good. Nearby Pembrey Beach and country park was excellent

Well equipped and spotlessly clean. Very comfortable and ideal for a multi family holiday. The owners were really welcoming and helpful. Lots to do in the area.

Edwin was a very attentive host, it was the perfect get away for a family with kids and dogs, there are ample facilities nearby and plenty of countryside to explore.

We went to local beaches and pubs but also spent time cooking in the house and walking around the local footpaths. It is worth a visit and you will be looked after well.

The house was clean, well equipped and very comfortable. The courtyard is perfect for dogs and children and the games room provided hours of entertainment. We also loved exploring the gardens - the perfect place for an Easter egg hunt! The location is fantastic - lots of local walks and a short drive to the beach and other attractions. What a location! The setting is wonderful, it's only a short drive from Pembrey and the house itself is lovely. A huge courtyard - safe for the dogs - a great host, everything was well-stocked and the beds were huge and comfy. Walking around the old building and gardens was a delight - we loved it there! We've already booked to go back in October.

We had a wonderful stay.

From arrival to departure we were very comfortable. We were delighted a Christmas tree had been set for us with a very thoughtful welcome treat left on the table. The house itself was lovely and cosy and warm. The bedrooms are beautifully decorated and all guests found the beds were really comfortable. So convenient having so many bathrooms, with great showers too. We were a large party between 8 and 10 people and there was plenty of space for all. There is ample seating in the living space and around the large dining table. The layout of the house allows for separation of the sleeping zones as two rooms are at one end and three at another with the living areas in between. This works really well especially if there are two family units sharing. The surrounding walks are beautiful, even in winter. The courtyard is great annd contained , especially if you have young children. Lots of space to play. The owner Edwin , is a lovely gentleman who ensured everything was set for our arrival. There is a very useful welcome book detailing local amenities and recommendations. The Red Lion in Llandyfaelog was particularly good for dinner. The area itself is very convenient to Carmarthen. We were able to have a grocery delivery. Having holidayed in Pembrokeshire and Carmarthenshire over several years it’s been our favourite house to stay in to date! We really hope to come back.

We were over in Carmarthen as a rally team of six people on the Roger Albert Clark Rally and we booked the Old Carriage Court for our accommodation.

The property was beautifully equipped and had everything we needed for a comfortable stay with children and a dog. The barns were perfect for storing muddy boots after long walks, and the games room was a big hit in the evenings. The bedrooms were spacious and featured some of the comfiest beds we’ve had in a holiday home. The open-plan kitchen and living area was ideal for relaxing and spending time together as a large group. Well-worth a walk around the ruined mansion next door as well. Excellent communication from the host. Thank you!

Beautiful property in beautiful surroundings.

The house had everything we needed. There was plenty of bathrooms so no worry there. When it rained we made use of the many board games and indoor games room. We loved the enclosed courtyard, very safe for our dogs. We had a great holiday. The owner is very helpful. A big thank you to him.

..relaxed, chilling out in a beautiful location. The house felt like home and was very well equipped with more than enough utensils, plates, glassware. Comfortable beds and chairs. However, although it suited us well, the property is in a rural area, so be prepared to travel to other activities. Our hosts, Edwin and Mary were very helpful and gave us all of the necessary information for all facilities...the 2 folders in the house were very thorough and we got a lot of help for trips out and about from those. Certainly one of the best cottages we've stayed at over the last 10 years. Highly recommend, plus The Red Lion, nearby is definitely worth a visit...excellent food and hopsitality.

The Old Carriage Court is a lovely converted building, we were 10 people, Baby, and 3 dogs which was very comfortably accommodated, and Edwin was a great host.

We stayed here for our Easter holiday break and we did not regret it.

The location was fantastic and beautiful. So peaceful and relaxing (we will on a busy main road so it was nice not to listen to traffic). The house was very big and spacious, there was nothing we needed to take, plenty of household items. Close to several beaches that we visited. Bed were comfy, bathrooms were big and ever had a wet room shower which was great for my mom. The owner of the house was very welcoming and came to check we was all ok. Over all 10/10 and would like to visit again.

9 of us (2 halves of the same family) spent a wonderful week at The Old Carriage Court over Christmas, and we all had a wonderful time.

Edwin & Mary went out of their way to ensure everything was as perfect as could be for us upon our arrival, so thank you from all of us for your attention to detail. Communication was excellent both before and during our stay, and we were left wanting nothing. The kitchen was very well equipped and we managed a sizeable Christmas dinner for everyone, along with meals on every day of our stay. The beds were quite possibly the most comfortable ones we have ever stayed in away from home, and there was more than enough space around. the cottage and the grounds for everyone to either relax or join together socially. I could go on but suffice to say we had a fantastic time and would recommend the property to anyone looking for a great trip away.

We had such a lovely time and the place had everything we could have wanted and wished for.

We've had an absolutely fabulously comfortable and relaxing experience at The Old Carriage Court.

The well laid out facilities around all the bedrooms and communial areas gave us all the space we needed as a group of 10. The beds were really comfy, the rooms nicely decorated and quiet. The 4 bathrooms, 2 of which are ensuite, were spaced so that nobody struggled for a loo. Quality fittings, fixtures and linens. Everyone loved the games room, although for our 6ft 5in 17 Yr old it was a precarious space with some of the old ceiling fittings. Lots of friendly competition and rushed suppers. The outside area within the courtyard was well used this week with barbecue evenings and late afternoon autumn sunshine. Edwin is a delight. A lovely man who welcomed us on our first morning, gave some great suggestions on the local area and good eateries around and about. His instructions for our arrival were spot on. We arrived in the black of night and would have been lost without his very specific route up to the house. The whole group of our family enjoyed this wonderful house, all the comforts of home, the gardens and the surrounding area. We all hope to come again.

We had a lovely week and were spoilt with some lovely September sunshine!

We took our parents who are in their 90s for a week away which they thoroughly enjoyed. They did find the large steps up the the front door a challenge however once inside was great everything was on one level. The property is very well equipped and had everything that we needed within the kitchen. The property was clean and tidy. We did all struggle with storage in the bathrooms. Some shelving within these would be really useful as there is nowhere to put anything, even a wash bag. Some bedrooms also have a lack of hanging space so a wardrobe in these would be a great addition. I guess as we are approaching the end of the summer period the property has been let for weeks on end but a deep clean would be beneficial as under beds, behind chairs etc was quite dirty. Many guests would not see this but we had to move a few things to accommodate our parents needs. We will definitely return in the future.

Old Carriage Court is in very quiet and beautiful location, but in easy reach of lovely beaches and Countryside.

There is everything you would need in the cottage and the large enclosed courtyard was perfect for our 4 dogs. The kitchen was well equipped with everything and more you could possibly need. Our family recently had the pleasure of staying at this charming cottage for a holiday, and it exceeded all our expectations!

From the moment we arrived, we felt right at home. The cottage is beautifully decorated, luxurious, and immaculately clean, with spacious bedrooms and an open living room that’s perfect for relaxing after a day of exploring. Every little detail has been thought of to make families feel comfortable and welcome. One of our favourite features of the cottage was the beautiful fireplace in the living room, which added such a cosy and warm atmosphere in the evenings. Outside, there’s a fantastic BBQ space where we enjoyed family meals in the fresh air. The kids absolutely loved the separate games room, which had fun activities like table football and table tennis—perfect for keeping everyone entertained! The surrounding area is stunning, and it was the ideal spot for our family to unwind and disconnect. There are plenty of lovely walking trails nearby, great for family strolls and exploring nature. Plus, the cottage is in a fantastic location with easy access to some of South Wales' beautiful castles and beaches, making it perfect for day trips to explore the rich history and stunning coastlines. Edwin, as our host, was fantastic—super friendly, helpful, and responsive to any questions we had. He even reached out before the holiday to provide easy navigation to the cottage and shared a thoughtful list of things to do and places to eat in the area, which made planning so much easier. A lovely welcome list of essentials was also left by Edwin at the cottage, which was such a thoughtful touch! If you're looking for a peaceful, relaxing escape for the whole family, this is the perfect place. We all had an excellent stay and can’t wait to return!

My family and I enjoyed our stay very much.

The beds, bedding and towels were very clean. Edwin the owner was very pleasant and helpful and recommended a pub near by called the Red Lion were if you have a dog you are very welcome. This is the second time we have been there and both times we have enjoyed our stay

The property was quite outstanding, and in an unbelievable setting, which was not done justice by the website description.

Our grandchildren, ranging in age from 5 to 18, just loved the courtyard with its range of activities, and would have been content to stay there, not withstanding the proximity to miles of clean beaches. Quite the best place we have stayed at, with excellent and very clean facilities. !

Edwin and Mary have thought of everything you will need during your stay. There were 9 of us staying and everyone (from the age of 4 to 72) said they wanted to come back. The house is very well equipped and accommodated us comfortably. The layout of bedrooms is ideal for more than one family. The courtyard was totally safe for a 4 year old and 2 dogs. Loved the history of the old mansion. Can’t wait to return.

Spent a fantastic 3 nights at this property with the family ( 9 Adults ) and a dog.

There’s plenty of space wether you’re around the dinner table or having an evening of fun and games, the kitchen is very well equipped. Spotlessly clean and very comfortable. The courtyard is a great enclosed space which is gated, where you can just relax on the benches, have a game of badminton or a BBQ, we also spent quite a few hours in one of the barns playing table tennis. The surrounding area is so peacefully quiet with stunning gardens and an old derelict house. Edwin is a great host, always at hand if there is anything needed, you’ll see him in passing sometimes walking his horse and always willing to answer the many questions we asked regarding the derelict house. We highly recommend this Cottage and hope to be returning soon.

The perfect home for a family occasion with plenty of space for all the generations to enjoy being together.

Edwin and Mary have created a classy home with bags of character. Comfortable, cosy, spacious and well equipped. Very useful having a Friday check in so we could enjoy a weekend together with the younger members of the family who work during the week.

An excellent accommodation, clean and well presented in an idyllic location.

A well furnished house. Good local amenities. Maybe a few more kitchen utensils such as a potato peeler and a solid potato masher etc. But that’s the only very small negative.

We loved our stay.

The photos on the website doesn't do it justice - we walked in and fell in love. We wanted a holiday where different households of our family could all be together and that's exactly what we got. The big table so we could eat and play games together, the games room where we had many table tennis tournaments and the cosy living room where we all fit to watch a film and then the comfy beds where we recharged for the next day if adventures. We wholeheartedly recommend!!

The stay was lovely, the property so clean and well equipped with everything you could need.

The beds were very comfortable and having soany bathrooms was great for our large family gathering. Our dogs loved the safe courtyard and the children loved the games room. Thank you for a very restful holiday.

Overall the holiday was very good.

The accommodation is in a very convenient location to visit sites in the area. The building, grounds and derelict mansion are very impressive. The hosts were very pleasant. The home was exceptionally well equipped - probably the most glasses , cutlery etc that we have ever had on holiday and all were very good quality. There was a slight problem with cleanliness - we moved one sofa in the lounge to access the control for the radiator located behind the sofa as it had been turned off. On moving the sofa large clumps of dog hair were revealed together with a half eaten oat type bar/biscuit. On moving the other sofas more dog hair was present but not as much. A day or so later my daughter found a false eyelash on the floor in a bedroom. Other than this the remainder of the property was very clean. The initial problem with cleaning was reported to the owner who was very apologetic. The owner provided a large bag of charcoal and matches/firelighters to use the bbq but unfortunately the bbq was very dirty with some mould. It was not a problem as the age range of our group did not lend itself to holding a bbq. Cleaning the bbq at home is a job I detest and was certainly not going to do it whilst on holiday. Some constructive criticism I hope - three bedrooms had no wardrobes which was a surprise only a few hangers on the back of doors which meant that we used our cases to keep our clothes in. The lower drawer on the chest of drawers in the end bedroom ( with two steps) was almost impossible to open and close - decided best not to use it. Finally, it would be helpful if shelving were provided in the bathrooms again as there is no place for toiletries. Hope this does not sound too negative as overall we were pleased with the facilities and had a great family holiday.

We finally managed to arrange a family celebration, albeit, nearly two years late. The accommodation was superb and met all expectations. Edwin was friendly, helpful and available if we needed him.The layout and facilities were excellent and met all our family needs, it was an ideal and safe space for our 3 year old grandson. The bedrooms were clean and spacious and everyone one commented on how comfy the beds were. The living/dining area was a great space for the family, large enough to accommodate all 10 of us yet it didn't feel crowded and we could all interact whilst preparing and eating meals. The 2 dogs were also welcome. The court yard and outbuildings provided a safe place to store our bikes, walking gear and to make the most of the games provided. We explored the area which offered great walks, beaches, parks, castles, something for everyone. There were great mountain bike trails near by at Brechfa forest, although some of the trails were closed due to the recent storm. Pembrey country park is a must to visit. I would thoroughly recommend this accommodation and would have no hesitation in coming back again. Superb holiday, in a wonderful setting.

The cottage has absolutely everything you need for a holiday stay including games indoors & out that the kids loved and with very spacious, well designed accommodation and really comfy beds - we didn’t need anything else. It’s in an amazing location with so much to explore locally. We loved Kidwelly & the castle, Llansteffan beach was great, Tenby just fabulous but our favourite find was Pembrey Country Park where we walked the beach , played mini golf then went tobogganing before skiing on the dry ski slope! We would definitely visit again if in the area and would highly recommend this venue, deserves its high star rating, ours is 5star!

The house and facilities exceeded our expectations, beautifully decorated and immaculately clean with new and very comfortable furniture, comfortable beds and bedding, new and extremely well equipped kitchen with plenty of new crockery and cutlery.

The games room and table tennis were a hit with the children and adults. Good walking and cycling area with beaches close by. The tiniest niggle was that we couldn't find any spare toilet rolls, I'm sure the owner would have brought some had we really needed them.

As a group of ten adults celebrating a 60th birthday we couldn’t have asked for a better property .

We have all stayed many times in this kind of accommodation and this is one of the best we have stayed in. Edwin was very helpful and accommodated all our requests , the gift of flowers a bottle of wine and chocolates left for us was a very thoughtful surprise . It was a 25 mins pleasant walk to the The red lion pub for Sunday lunch and we can’t recommend highly enough, lovely pub with gorgeous food. We would definitely return to the Old carriage court , thank you for a lovely time.

What a wonderful and thoroughly magical place in every way!

It is also very warm and dry and all of the fittings and furniture and kitchen equipment are top notch and sparkling clean. The hosts, Mary and Edwin are thoroughly charming and have thought of absolutely everything. We had a wonderful long weekend (10 adults, 2 children) and created many happy memories. Truly the nicest place I have ever stayed, as a veteran of rentals. .

The nine of us had a great stay at The Old Carriage Court for a 50th wedding anniversary, it was the perfect property for the occasion!

The kids and dog were happy exploring the surrounding grounds and especially the abandoned mansion, and finding the hidden den was a real bonus. The property is clean and well equipped and the rooms are all spacious with comfy beds and luxurious feeling linen. The open plan kitchen and living room is great for keeping an eye on the kids while preparing dinner and after a wet afternoon at the beach the log burner was lovely. The games room and equipment provided were also great for burning off some of the lovely local food. The owners popped by and were very welcoming and accommodating to any requests we had and we would love to come back in the Summer to enjoy the local area more.

They were very kind and helpful. The property is well equipped and has been restored to a very high standard. We had 2 families staying there and we were all very comfortable. The grounds are stunning as are the surrounding views. The badminton, table tennis and board games were a welcome addition. We loved sitting in the private courtyard having drinks and a barbecue watching the House Martin’s swooping around. The property is in a good location. It’s close to beaches, castles and a number of beautiful villages. The walk to the local pub, The Red Lion, is pretty and peaceful. The food at the pub was superb. We had a wonderful 2 weeks and very much hope to return.

The property is in such good condition and the host is absolutely wonderful and attentive.

The courtyard was a brilliant feature as it meant the children and dog could play safely and we even got to have a BBQ. The grounds are beautiful to explore, especially the old mansion, the horses and cows kept the kids busy, and we went for runs and walks every morning. Absolutely worth the money. The beds were too soft for us all, not as comfy as we would have liked. But big spacious beds/rooms

The house was in extremely good condition and was really well laid out and comfortable.

Our experience at the Old Cottage Court was absolutely perfect.

Firstly the location of the accommodation feels taken from a page in The Secret Garden. The gardens on the grounds, the abandoned mansion from straight out of a movie set, the perch on top of a hill for an excellent view, were something to behold. Days were spent simply sat reading in these gardens instead of hopping in the car for the next day trip! The surrounding area is stunning, with Pembrey beach + the Gower not too far, and amazing magical-like hikes. Secondly the accommodation itself. Having only been completed in November (there is a photo exhibit on the wall of the kitchen showing the journey!) everything is fresh and new, and everything is very well stocked. 8 of our party of 10 were working at least half of the week during our stay, and we were able to use the sizeable kitchen and strong wifi to accommodate zoom calls and regular working. The rooms themselves are roomy, extremely comfortable, bright and airy. The court itself is beautiful, with a muddy boots room next door, a well stocked games room, a BBQ, and a lovely table to sit in and enjoy the beauty of the renovated building. Lastly, we have to thank Edwin & Mary for the level of care we experienced during our stay. In order to ensure we were stocked for our self-catered food we arranged for a Sainsbury's delivery to drop off 10 people's worth of food for 7 days (a huge order). We were delayed in our arrival, and missed the delivery - but arrived to find that Edwin (and a very kind delivery driver) had moved ALL the groceries from the van and into the fridge/onto the kitchen table. In addition, when the dish washer broke down Edwin arrived almost immediately - and myself and my partner returned to the accommodation to find they had done all the washing up themselves in addition to trying to sort the machine! Edwin & Mary absolutely made our trip and we cannot say enough just how excellent hosts they are. We hope some day to return the carriage court - we'd be very fortunate indeed.

The Old Carriage Court is a truly lovely place to stay.

We were a family group of 9, ages ranging from 2 to 60 years with 3 family dogs. It was a wonderful setting and with gates at both entrances was safe and secure for the children and dogs. The history of Gellideg was fascinating and the renovation was superb. The accommodation is beautiful, comfortable and so well equipped. We really hope we can return again, cannot fault it in any way.

5 equally stunning bedrooms, the best equipped kitchen I’ve ever used and comfortable lounge/ diner incorporating the kitchen to make it a useable family area. Dog friendly too, which is rare for a property of this calibre. The owners are wonderful people, only too happy to help with any questions and queries and passionate about the history of the place, which is fascinating. I could come back to gellideg time and time again and never tire of the surroundings. The courtyard, the stables, the orchard and of course the mansion ruins, takes you back in time. We were sad to leave, but will return, if only to say hello to Edwin and Mary and of course Isla the Labrador. We miss you already!
