“Red Kite Cottage was a great discovery.”

We booked last minute and normally try to stay in or around St David's. It is in a very rural, peaceful and quiet setting. We booked last minute and normally try to stay in or around St David's. It is in a very rural, peaceful and quiet setting. The cottage is literally on one side of a stable yard....the front stable style door opens to a view of the stables opposite and occasionally a horse! We liked this unusual setting and liked to hear the coming and going of the horses . We arrived on a very cold day and the owner had kindly left the heating and side lights on which made it feel instantly warm and welcoming. The cottage was very clean and bright and the views through the french doors to the back were lovely. The living area and kitchen is small but perfectly formed! There is a washing machine, microwave and airfryer. Also undercounter fridge (no freezer, just ice box). There's no dishwasher but that didn't matter. Tea towels are provided. The bedrooms, accessed through a door from the living area are clean, bright and the beds really comfortable. The twin room is small but there is a built-in cupboard for storage. There is no hairdryer in the property....which was ok as I checked before, but mention it as most cottages have one. The bathroom is fine - although the hot water takes ages to come through, which wastes quite a lot of water...but I did mention it when leaving. Towels are provided. The outside space with the cottage is enclosed and so great for our dog. It's a gravelled yard with table and chairs with great views. There is no WiFi at the property but had good signal on our phones (O2 /Tesco mobile). We didn't, but apparently there are places to walk from the cottage, but you are only a stones throw from the nearest beach and the wonderful Pembrokeshire Coast Path. This is an ideally situated cottage, ticks most boxes and we would definitely book it again.

A superb village around a tidal harbour where boats can be launched and walks along the dramatic coast path will be a delight any time of the year. This pretty little village may be small but offers friendly pubs serving good food, gift shops, art galleries and a nearby superb woollen mill shop where special gifts can be bought to remember your stay in Wales.
