This tastefully decorated, detached cottage idyllically overlooks the Cleddau Estuary. Situated in the exclusive village of Hazelbeach with its small beach and individually painted houses, one mile from the Pembrokeshire town of Neyland. The Ferry Inn is a cosy local pub with restaurant and rooms, only a few minutes' walk away. Oakdene cottage, with its excellent south Wales location, offers the ideal homely accommodation for a memorable holiday with family and friends. Step up into the property and be greeted by the bright and airy hallway which leads you into the immaculate open-plan living room. The sitting area is spacious yet cosy, with plenty of comfortable seating and a TV, curl up with your loved ones and watch a favourite film after a long day. To the back of the room rests the stylish kitchen area, well-equipped and hosting a delightful dining table to gather around at meal times. Two of the immaculate bedrooms at Oakdene sit on the ground floor, as does the sumptuous family bathroom with a separate walk-in shower. Head upstairs to discover the two further bedrooms, the larger of which with twin beds, a snug sofa and a TV with X BOX360 is perfect for children to stay in together. A modern shower room completes the interior. Admire your setting by sitting on the veranda with a refreshing drink and taking in the view of the Ferry setting sail or returning from Ireland. Neyland, a small nearby town, offers a small range of shops and pubs to make the most of. Outdoor enthusiasts will love the number of walking and cycling opportunities here. The Brunel Cycle Trail passes close by and you join the Pembrokeshire coastal path only a few minutes' walk away which can take you to the nearby award winning beaches. Further afield you could also enjoy a day out in the seaside resorts of Tenby and Saundersfoot. The county town, Pembroke is just five miles and makes for a wonderful day out, showcasing a fabulous medieval castle. Birthplace of King Henry VII.

We recently stayed at this property as a group of eight and overall had a lovely time.
The house offers plenty of space, a great location, and beautiful surroundings — but there are a few areas that would benefit from attention to make future stays even better. Pros • Spacious layout — Easily accommodated all 8 guests without feeling crowded. • Comfortable beds — Everyone slept well and found the mattresses supportive. • Well furnished — The décor and furniture made the house feel homely and welcoming. • Fully equipped kitchen — Everything needed for cooking was provided, including an air fryer and slow cooker. • Great location — Situated near the Marina with beautiful scenery and a peaceful atmosphere. • Easy to find — Straightforward to locate with clear access. • Outdoor seating — Lovely decking area for meals outside. Cons • Damp issues downstairs — The lower level felt damp, which affected guests with asthma overnight. Clean clothes stored in downstairs drawers also developed a damp smell. Humidifiers would help. • Decking condition — The decking is worn and has areas that need replacing. • Xbox setup — An Xbox was placed in the children’s room but had no HDMI cable. This caused upset for a child with additional needs. It would be better to remove it entirely if not usable. • Garden maintenance — The garden was overgrown with weeds and needed attention. • Recycling confusion — No recycling boxes or bags were provided. We had to look up local recycling rules and separate waste using black bags. Cleanliness The initial impression was that the property was clean, but once furniture was moved or items were retrieved from underneath, there was a noticeable amount of dust, dirt, and even old food in multiple rooms. A deeper clean between guests would improve the overall experience. Overall Despite the issues, it was a lovely stay in a great location. The house has a lot of potential and many positives. A few improvements — particularly addressing damp, refreshing the decking, improving garden upkeep, and ensuring a more thorough clean — would make this property exceptional. A simple house information folder would also be helpful. Although a bowl of leaflets was provided, many were outdated and disorganised. A clear, up‑to‑date guide with essential details in one place would make things much easier for guests.
First impressions was not great, as when we first stepped onto the property there was trodden in dog poop on the steps to the front door.
Which I ended up cleaning off. Also, the photos on the website aren’t up to date, as the outside furniture is different to what’s pictured and what is there; is damaged. The property is lovely and is in a great area to use as a base, it had everything we needed to enjoy our week away, but just felt that the cleaners had let the place down by not cleaning the floors properly. Our dogs found food under the sofa, and clearly they hadn’t had a thorough clean for some time. Oh and the vacuum cleaner doesn’t work and the X Box has the red ring of death, so couldn’t use it. I did send the owner some pictures of the issues via WhatsApp.
