“What an opportunity to absolutely relax for 7 days.”

We'd never considered hosts as an important aspect of selection, but Tanya and Carl have been the perfect hosts, going beyond being hosts and now friends. We're both in our mid 70s and the bathroom down stairs is an issue, there's no way round it. But, after the bathroom issue the accommodation is perfect in every way, and yes we will consider rebooking in a heartbeat. My dog Max found the love of his life in the hosts dog, Pookie?? We'd never considered hosts as an important aspect of selection, but Tanya and Carl have been the perfect hosts, going beyond being hosts and now friends. We're both in our mid 70s and the bathroom down stairs is an issue, there's no way round it. But, after the bathroom issue the accommodation is perfect in every way, and yes we will consider rebooking in a heartbeat. My dog Max found the love of his life in the hosts dog, Pookie?? They were inseparable. Lovely memories of a lovely week. The area is very dog friendly, with an exception, the Castle, indeed Max appears now on the photo board of the Red Lion, told you dog friendly. Nothing, absolutely nothing is needed to bring even a week's supply of loo paper! Cooking most evenings meant even more opportunities to stay in and read, sit in the sun, and drink copious amount of tea, yes supplied. Villa winning another European Cup completed a tremendous week. Which reminded me, the internet is superb, the best we've ever experienced in a holiday let, by far. Can't say it's a smart tele tho, not even a slightly intelligent tv, thankfully not an issue for us. Managed to wrestle a jar of homemade pickle off Tanya when we left, almost better than Villa winning, almost. We'll be back. Alan and Jean

The property

This gorgeous romantic hideaway cottage for two in Carmarthenshire, is situated literally at the foot of Carreg Cennen Castle - one of the most iconic castles in Wales.

The castle is stunningly beautiful and as you approach the cottage you will be awed by its presence.

You can enjoy walking through the grounds of the cottage and watch the red kites and buzzards flying overhead.

By night the dark skies are perfect for stargazers.

The cottage is set on the edge of the Black Mountains in the Bannau Brycheiniog National Park (Brecon Beacons) with an abundance of footpaths and magnificent scenery to take in.

Llandeilo is just 10 minutes' drive away and has a selection of individual shops and eateries.

Also nearby are Aberglasney Gardens and The National Botanic Garden of Wales. This tastefully converted barn provides delightful self-catering accommodation for a couple seeking peace and seclusion with lovely walks right from the front door.

Walking boots and a camera are advised.
