The property

Llandovery 4 miles.

North Cottage is an inviting retreat set in the village of Myddfai near Llandovery in Carmarthenshire, offering a distinctive escape for couples, friends and families.

Forming part of King Charles’s former Welsh estate, the cottage enjoys views across formal gardens and centres around the welcoming glow of an open fire.

Positioned within the historic Llwynywermod estate, the property sits on land connected to the Duchy of Cornwall, shaped over generations by royal stewardship and echoes of Tudor‑era history.

The approach is softened by surrounding greenery, with outlooks across a walled garden that lend a sense of order and tranquillity.

Entry leads straight into the kitchen, where aged doors reflect the building’s heritage and wooden worktops provide a practical, characterful space for preparing meals, with a cloakroom close by for added ease.

From here, the living and dining room unfolds into a spacious and impressive setting, with tiled floors, sofas and armchairs arranged around an open fire, and a dining table suited to shared meals and relaxed evenings, while doors open directly onto the grounds and neatly kept formal gardens beyond.

Upstairs, hessian flooring runs along the staircase and into the bedrooms, tying the upper floor together with texture and warmth.

One twin bedroom features a vaulted ceiling with exposed beams and can be arranged as a king‑size on request, while the second twin offers a similarly comfortable space, complemented by a family bathroom with a walk‑in rainfall shower.

The super‑king‑size bedroom provides a more secluded room with an en‑suite rainfall shower and views across the estate.

Beyond the cottage, the wider landscape unfolds into wildflower meadows, traditionally worked farmland and gentle woodland paths, all managed without pesticides and guided by long‑established, nature‑led practices.

Guests are welcome to explore the estate’s walled garden with its conservatory and separate sun room, while optional activities such as yoga, reiki, foraging and guided walks reflect a softly holistic way of life, with a shop and pub also within easy reach to balance seclusion with everyday convenience.

Discover North Cottage and enjoy a refined countryside retreat shaped by land and legacy.

Note: This can be booked with refs. 1181896, and 1181897, together sleeping 14 guests.
