Riverside Barn
Description
Set in a village location in the Bannau Brycheiniog National Park (Brecon Beacons), within large grounds, with an electric-gated entrance leading to two cottages and the owners home, this delightful Gilwern cottage is an extremely well presented holiday base.
Step into the spacious open plan living space with high apex beams and patio doors to the garden, and you will be delighted with your choice.
This room really is a superb place to gather together and cook, eat and relax before and after your varied days out in this beautifully scenic area.
Two double bedrooms, the family bathroom and a small games room complete the ground floor accommodation at this Gilwern cottage.
Then, head up the oak stairs straight into a large bedroom tucked in the eaves offering flexible sleeping arrangements, this is ideal as a hideaway for a couple or for the children to enjoy peaceful time together.
The owners, who live in the main house next to this Gilwern cottage, enjoy the outdoors and have provided a large paddock area with football goals for the young at heart to expend some energy with a game of football, cricket or rounders maybe.
Others, however, may prefer to simply sit and watch, soaking up the scenic backdrop of fields and hills.
Days out walking and cycling on countryside lanes, up the Sugarloaf Mountain, into the Bannau Brycheiniog (Brecon Beacons) or along the canal will be an absolute delight during your stay at this Gilwern cottage.
Play a round of golf, or travel a bit further to explore ancient castles, old mine museums and much more.
Visit the nearby market town of Abergavenny to sample local produce all year round, and especially when one of its food festivals are running.
A perfect Gilwern cottage in this breathtaking National Park where a holiday will be long remembered by all.

What guests are saying
This accommodation was listed as detached on Sykes, but is actually a semi, but this was not a problem for us.
The cottage was spacious, comfortable, clean, warm and had everything we needed. Set in a peaceful and beautiful location. Ideally located for exploring Brecon Beacons and south Wales. On clear nights the dark skies and stars are amazing. Warm welcome from Jack, Simon and Alison who were available if needed.
Lovely place, fantastically comfortable and well set up.
Thank you to the owners for a lovely stay and being so helpful going above and beyond.
Stayed at this cottage and Simon and Alison’s other cottage many times, cannot fault it.
Amazing place to stay with great hosts. Friendly helpful but not too intrusive.
