“This is probably the best equipped property we have ever rented.”

The only gadget I would suggest as an addition would be a food processor! The property was spotlessly clean and the furniture, including the beds was comfortable and practical. . The large living room to the rear is great for dining and for socialising and the garden and patio are a sun trap and perfect for young children to play in safely. Dinas is a nice village with 2 excellent pubs, a chip shop, a village shop and a filling station with small supermarket attached. There are several nice beaches within easy walking distance along quiet lanes or via the gorgeous coastal path. Beautiful Fernant gardens are nearby and well worth a visit. Trefdraeth (Newport) is one of the prettiest villages/small towns in Wales and there are several nice eateries and pubs as well as some interesting independent shops. The only very minor negatives were the poor wifi signal and TV reception (not the owner's fault and who visits this part of Wales to sit indoors?); the complicated waste recycling system (again, not the owner's fault) and finally, the handle on the upstairs toilet kept falling off. We would definitely recommend this property and we hope to return.

The property

This spacious stone house enjoys a great location in the pretty village of Dinas Cross, between Newport and Fishguard in the Pembrokeshire Coast National Park.

Within walking distance is Aberbach cove, Pwllgwaelod and Cwm yr Eglwys, with Newport Sands just a short drive away.

Newport is just over three miles away and has a great selection of eateries, pubs, shops and a weekly produce market.

The coastal walkers' bus enables you to walk a different section of the coast path each day and stops in the village, as does the regular service bus.

Within walking distance are two village shops, as well as 2 pubs which serve food, a beach side restaurant, a fish & chip shop, a children's play park and tennis court.

This home is a happy marriage of traditional cottage with large modern extension and makes a perfect place for extended families or groups of friends.

About the location

Newport 2.5 miles.

The scattered village of Dinas Cross has a well stocked mini market store and a pub, and nestles between the Preseli Mountains and the wonderful Pembrokeshire Coast Path. Pwll Gwaelod and Cwm-Yr-Eglwys beaches are both minutes away, both with breathtaking scenery offering the opportunity for tranquil days in perfect settings, and are almost unnoticed by the general public unless they leave the main route through the village, with there being a petrol station, two pubs a fish and chip shop, as well as a restaurant down at Pwll Gwaelod beach. Nearby Newport is a quirky seaside town steeped in history, with various shops, tea rooms and pubs and is also a great place to go boating. With castles, mills, craft centres and golf courses galore scattered all over this beautiful Welsh county, this is the perfect base for a break all year round.
