Description

St John's House is a charming semi-detached retreat situated near the coast in the heart of popular Newport, Pembrokeshire.

Perfect for families or friends, this haven offers easy access to coastal adventures, with a parking permit available at the payable public car park nearby, ensuring convenience for all your explorations.

Head inside and you’ll find a spacious kitchen/diner, fully equipped to handle everything from lazy breakfasts to evening feasts.

It’s a sociable space where you can gather around the table to share meals, swap stories, and map out the day’s adventures.

Just off the kitchen, the welcoming sitting room offers a comfortable place to put your feet up.

There’s a TV with an Amazon Fire Stick for winding down with a film or series, and a gas woodburner style fire to keep things toasty when the temperature dips.

Outdoors, the enclosed rear courtyard is a real bonus, a private little suntrap ideal for alfresco dining, a quiet morning brew, or losing yourself in a good book.

With outdoor furniture in place and peaceful surroundings all around, it’s a spot made for slowing down and soaking it all in.

The property offers four well-presented bedrooms to choose from when it's time to rest.

The first is a king-size room, offering a serene space to unwind.

The second is a double room, complete with a walk-in shower, for added convenience.

The third bedroom is a snug single, and the fourth is a fun bunk room, ideal for younger guests.

A family bathroom, featuring a corner bath, serves the bedrooms, providing a calming space to relax and soak after a day of coastal exploration.

Additionally, a handy cloakroom with a basin and WC is available for your convenience.

Delight in the local area, starting with a visit back in time at Castell Henllys Iron Age Village, offering fascinating insight into the life of our ancient ancestors, or marvel at the Neolithic splendour at Pentre Ifan Burial Chamber.

The historic ruins of St Dogmaels Abbey will further captivate history enthusiasts as will a visit to Cilgerran Castle.

Whilst there, the nature lovers can visit the Welsh Wildlife Centre where you can explore an array of habitat zones ranging from woodland to wetlands and view the plentiful variety of wildlife species.

Alternatively, you might prefer a tranquil day walking along the Pembrokeshire Coast Path with visits to nearby Cwm-Yr-Eglwys and Pwllgwaelod beaches a must.

Closer to your home base, the adventurers can hike up into the Preseli Hills to Carnalw which sits above Newport and offers splendid views of Cardigan Bay.

Whether it's history, nature, or rural life that is your passion, St John's House brings you within easy reach of culturally rich experiences and adventures in the heart of north Pembrokeshire.

Spacious and comfortable, StJohns house is a little tired and could do with a freshen up.

En suite shower requires new silicone in corners and around base, looks grimy. Other than that the holiday home was well equipped and superbly convenient for all the local services.

We stayed for a couple of nights whilst in Newport for a wedding weekend.

Location was fantastic and the house served perfectly for what we needed.

Cute, quirky cottage in an excellent, quiet location in the centre of Newport.

Sitting in the gardens opposite the property was a real pleasure and an added bonus. The courtyard to the rear was a bit neglected and not particularly enticing. Wouldn’t put me off booking again but as a rental property owner myself , a few low maintenance pots and tidying up would make all the difference. A sliding wardrobe in the bunk bed and single bedrooms rather all open shelves would help with hanging up clothes for guests in those bedrooms. It did get a bit cluttered. Sykes were very quick to deal with the uncollected rubbish bags left in the courtyard by the previous visitors (it can happen) and fix a loose Yale latch on the door. Overall a very pleasant stay and despite the niggles we would book again.
